Mochi score system multiple spots https://elementscommunity.org/forum/index.php?topic=16158.msg206868#msg206868

I always hated it when people would somehow have multiple scores of themselves on t50. Imagine my surprise today when I found out that I'm on the t50 4 whooping times. I heard that this happens when you submit your score on different computers, but I only used one, so I have no idea how this happened. Can anyone tell me how the score system works, so that I won't put myself on t50 for the 5th time?

I usually submit my score once by checking the highscore list; nothing more.  Now, I check the highscores frequently of course, but the way that I do it is that I open up trainer and check the highscores through there.  It's a slight inconvenience but the very reason I do it is so that I do not deprive someone else of their rightful place among the Top 50.

I guess that would work for now, thanks. It would still be nice to have someone who knows more about mochi to answer that other question, because I would like to update my score without taking up more spots.

Never thought about using Trainer in such a way... nifty idea ;)

As for the multiple posting, is it possible you have a dynamic IP address and it's what is causing the multiple postings?

Not entirely sure about the dynamic address, but I never had multiple scores on t50 before (it just updated my old score). Hmm, maybe I should look into changing my password.

The spots are based on IP, so dynamic sounds most likely. It's an automatic process you won't notice, after all.

I just have to ask, does your computer have wireless and do you use it in different locations?

For the Top50 list you can also click on Resources at the top of the Forum.  The default resource is the In Development cards and at the bottom of that page is the Top50 list.  It might take a few seconds to load.

I don't remember exactly, but all scores were sent using the same connection.
Also, apparently resolved, since I can update my score fine now without taking up more spots. Maybe it was a one-off thing with my internet provider or something.
