i have not tried to earthquake a mark but if you read the card it says "... up to three pillars or pendulums..."
not marks, only pillars and pendulums :)

Marks are pillars, and can be targeted/affected by anything that can target/affect pillars. They cannot be targeted, however, if they are stacked on your mark in permanent slot #5.
