to set it apart from immolation, alternatives i can think of-
1) spread the quanta over a 2-3 turns, or just happens at the end of the current turn
2) require it be a non-mind card (not so much a fan of this one, just spitballing)
3) set your mind quanta to the determined number, rather than adding, (ie it is set at 10

, and you have 3

, it is set to 10 after use. and if you have over 10 or close to 10, it is a bad idea to play this card before spending some quanta.
4) lose any unused quanta gained from this spell at the end of the turn (dont know if this is technically possible) or simplify it by removing all of the set amount after the end of the turn (gain 10

, use it or lose it, won't go negative but can hit 0

)
5) unable to cast another spell card that turn (or more severely, silence yourself for the duration of the turn, this would prevent playing creatures from forget quanta in turn 1)
6) have it be a smaller set amount of

gained (~5?) but also gain 3 quanta of the target card's element.
7) ...ill try to think of more tonight before i leave
