i was thinking about
http://elementscommunity.org/forum/index.php/topic,38734.0.html and
http://elementscommunity.org/forum/index.php/topic,38535.0.html earlier, while i don't particularly like the way the cards are currently designed (not adding to my shelf), it does remind me of SoF/phoenix/pharaoh/undead- generating another card after a card is removed from play (in SoF's case having > N hp, in ascension's a selected creature being killed, etc). so they bring up a potentially interesting continuation of the 'specific unusual consequences' mechanic, something that may warrant further exploration, here or elsewhere.
generalizations/summaries/brainstorming-
potential triggers:
too much hp (SoF)
0 hp (phoenix)
being targeted
specific spell/effect/ability (aka reverse time on pharaoh/undead)
being damaged at all
too many/few of a particular card in play, or put into play on the same turn
potential implementations:
creature/permanent with the ability (phoenix/SoF/pharaoh/undead)
spell/ability granting the mechanic (ascension)
potential results:
established spells (SoF)
established creatures (pharaoh/undead)
established permanents
novel creatures (phoenix's ash/combustion)
novel permanents
novel spells (ascension)
a one time effect
