may also be worth exploring the advancement of other mechanics introduced in this patch, in addition to chaining (novas), including but not limited to:
merging cards in hand when putting them into play (SoI)
non-spells dealing spell damage (SoW)
targeting immaterial creatures exclusively (SoW)
modifying the quanta cap (SoC's initial idea)
critical hits (SoFree)
multiple card draws (SoBe)
not only using the mechanics themselves, but having cards related to them may also be beneficial.
example card ideas-
merge- merge sparks in hand form a powerful creature or spell (
card) or all creatures, stats based on elements, skill random but cost using most commonly incorporated card (likely
)
quanta cap modification- a permanent with a repeatably usable skill reducing the cap by 5 each use (imagine this could fit in water?)
critical hits- pretty easy to apply to creatures and weapons, could be a spell that grants critical hit chance
spell damage from alternate sources- already have a good number of cards using this, but defenses to it may be worth looking into (more shields and such)
multiple card draws- could have a card that damages players when cards are drawn, similar to neurotoxin's mechanic, but for drawing and not for playing.
