The Idea Factory presents...
The IF Boutique
Here every memeber of the Idea Factory will choose and show his favourite card ideas of all times! To add a new card to your shelf, please provide a link to its thread and a brief description concerning why it seems a good idea!

For logistic reasons, you can't have more than TEN CARDS in your Shelf, so choose wisely. Also, you cannot choose one of your own cards for your Shelf: you need somebody else to approve of it!

Moomoose's Shelf
I think a shield specializing in non-physical damage is a very good idea (without being a flat out spell reflect shield).
This card fits unholy unliving the best of any card suggested for the death element, the fact that this card and fallen crusader linger in level 1 brings shame upon the elements community.  it is already dead, so it has 0 hp, and only a holy/curing act such as casting holy light on it will actually kill it.  the immunity to status effects is a necessary balancing mechanism.  simply put, it was an idea i had tried to think of when i was reviewing creatures from Ogre Battle to try to apply to elements, but missed how to convert the skeletons/ghosts from the game with similar mechanics into elements cards. kudos to z.

Old Tree's Shelf
is easily balanced by adjusting whether it can target creatures or by adjusting the casting cost.
is a creative take on healing
is thematic (regeneration is a growth based healing)
is mechanically thematic (regeneration is useful in multiples)
can be used as a standalone PC card
is varied with both offensive, defensive and counter defensive uses
has a niche of permanent lobotomy
Beyond that Rejuvenation helps balance the metagame by creating more alternatives to Deflagration when combating Discord. It was well placed in one of the elements that would benefit from an alternative to Deflagration.

is easily balanced by adjusting the casting cost and activation cost. Although it probably is balanced already.
is a creative means of quanta fixation
is thematic (Other uses generic names)
is mechanically thematic (quanta fixation should come at a cost that scales with the versatility used)
is meant to be used as a standalone quanta fixer
has varied usages depending on the scale (number of elements) being fixed. Mostly it enables quad and quint decks.
has a niche of quanta fixation
Quanta Locket opens the game to the possibility of Quad and Quint decks while at the same time creating much more flexibility in the quanta ratios for decks. 1:3:6:6 decks would be possible to design with Quanta Locket.

Xenocidius' Shelf
If there's one thing Death needs it's a better way to trigger death effects. This provides that.

The Mormegil's Shelf
One thing Elements needs is definitely an increased amount of PC cards. The sheer power and versatility those cards have is something that gives a huge edge in almost every fight. This card is one of the most elegant and brilliant ideas for thematic and flavorful PC I have ever seen, adding a bit of versatility into the package.
One of the funniest, quirkiest card ideas I have ever seen. Sure doesn't solve any metagame problem and is probably going to be a niche card at best... but it's one of the ideas that make Elements a fun and intresting game and that can lead to strange, unique decks.
Thematically appropriate, increases the effectiveness of combo decks, is about as powerful as Hourglass but at the same time different enough to warrant a spot in the game. Versatility at its peak.
Majofa's Shelf
This was the first card I ever saw in the Card Ideas & Art section that made me go: "Wow that's a cool card!"
The cost is good at 6 :darkness / 4 :darkness and fits well with the thematics of :darkness (which I'm not really stingy about).
With the healing in :darkness or other elements it seems like a card similar to Fire Shield, but it works better against low attack creatures.

Probably not. But I guess if (a big if) everybody in the IF was to participate to the fullest, there would be a need for more than one post. Better safe than sorry, right?
...I'm going to add Force Shield now.

Spite | Spite (http://elementscommunity.org/forum/index.php/topic,26223): If there's one thing Death needs it's a better way to trigger death effects. This provides that.
Rejuvenation | Rejuvenation (http://elementscommunity.org/forum/index.php/topic,34369): This gives Life CC and PC, both of which it desperately needs.
Cell | Cell (http://elementscommunity.org/forum/index.php/topic,29546): Captures the essence and theme of Life better than any card or card idea I've ever seen. Ever.

oh, if we can put up our own cards, and are limited to 10 cards, drop out force shield and ill add 10 of my own :p

comments on other people's submissions thus far-
i dislike spite, there are better means at repeatable triggering of death effects without removing the niche of schod's cat.  i liked ghoul for this purpose, but apparently people want a lazier means of doing so.

quantum locket is a very good card, the only flaw being that the ability to target elements in the quanta pool may not be possible, and an alternate design of target card's element may be more practical and provide a little balancing mechanism (that the card of the element you want has to be in play)

rejuv is a very good card as well, my concern is that the ability to both be a very effective pc and very effective cc may actually be too versatile, it may be better suited to be broken into two cards, actually.

Lets be objective about card selection. Recognize your biases. The easiest way to do this is by eliminating the temptations.

Part of why I selected Quantum Locket is targeting specific quanta pools is possible to code and would be a valuable addition to the game IMO.

If Rejuv is too versatile then the solution is so obvious (let Mitosis fill the CC role instead) that I evaluated the changed version for that circumstance.

i agree, just mentioned it due to the inclusion of 'cell'.

"Part of why I selected Quantum Locket is targeting specific quanta pools is possible to code and would be a valuable addition to the game IMO."

i agree, i had a similar idea for a trading quanta at a loss, i think i had discussed that previously, but it wouldnt work without this mechanism, which is why i scrapped the idea.

sounds good to me.  *edit- actually, nevermind.  mitosis as a lobo is a pretty bad idea, as the creature will produce another one of itself, de-lobo'd. there are definitely other means of providing cc to life in potential cards (many have been suggested already, venus flytrap comes to mind)

Clarified:
Mitosis as lobo can work but usually only as a delay tactic. If Rejuv is too versatile then restricting it to permanents, having Mitosis be used as temporary creature lobo and adding another non lobo CC is the obvious solution.
