Death naturally has a morphing effect that relates to Time because all that is dead was once alive.

Some morphing effects are also Mutations (of Entropy), but that is common.

Other morph effects could be Evolution, so the movement FORWARD through time should be considered.
Perception is the source of misunderstanding.

Reverse Time represents Time. Time can cause a change in the state of a card.
However that change is not even hence the exceptions have a morph effect.

Freeze on a solid creature stops the creature but only changes a liquid creature. (see Ice Golem)

Basilisk Blood would naturally harden a creature, turning it into stone.
Rage Potion makes a creature... angrier.
Heavy Armor grants a creature magical armor, perhaps in a similar manner as a Carapace being formed or a Dragon forming magical armor. (See most dragon upgrades).
Overdrive and Momentum increases the movement speed of a creature.
Cloak hides creatures from sight of the enemy - perhaps they become stronger where there is no light, or must spend time hidden to morph.

Eclipse could be used to turn a Life creature into a more powerful Darkness creature. Nocturnal predators and whatnot.

I think an important detail about one of these Morph effects is that it is there as an exception to the norm.
Rage Potion makes creatures angry (+5|-5) therefore a Morph would not get angry. However Rage Potion not causing anger is silly so Rage Potion should NOT have a morph.

im not so sure i agree with that.  reverse time takes things into the past, but yet undead cards get taken into the past when it is used on them.  its just not in the standard defined use of reverse time.

i can not come up with a good example for rage potion, but it is in the realm of possibility that a card could be targeted with rage potion and then have an effect other than the +5|-5 and still thematically be made angry. i dont think it is a good idea to exclude cards right now just because at this moment we are unable to think of an application for it.  it just makes it less likely that someone will come up with a card, or cards, which utilize this particular spell/effect/status/ability.

ok, very basic and not well thought out off the top of my head example of a card which would use rage potion differently than its intended effect

Momentum and Adrenaline



or simply be a nixie from the start and again momentum and adrenaline upon reviving a rage potion.  while this may not be the most creative idea, the goal is to allow for the possibility of creative thoughts even if we do not have them at this moment.

However there is justification for why the morph trigger causes an irregular effect. (Reverting past their death instead of past their birth)
Pixie does not provide such justification. If it did I would agree however I do not see Rage Potion's theme allowing an elegant justification.

simple, nixies are mean pixies.  giving a rage potion to a pixie makes them mean, which makes them a nixie.  honestly i dont think we are going to see eye to eye on anything in this subject if we cant agree on this basic principle.  the morph effect is fun and interesting, let the creativity go where it takes it.

the same reason mummies/skellies dont simply get removed from play and put on the top of the deck like the normal effect of reverse time.  because something different is specified to happen and fits thematically.

I do not see how Nixies having -0|-2 Momentum Adrenaline instead of +X|-X is thematically justified.

because pixies become nixies when they get angry- such as when given a rage potion.  and nixies are more offensively driven than pixies, hence the reduction in hit points and increase in offensive status. 

here, i will diagram it in parallel for you

each of those cards *could* simple have the basic +5|-5 / remove from play-put on deck effects, respectively.  but the conversion is designated to have an alternative effect for those specific cards because it would have a related, but different, effect for those cards.

i could make an incredible hulk reference if that is easier for you to see the connection.
