I got 61, how did you get 62? *goes to check his math*

Actually, realized I missed something, and only got 53. How did you do it?

Wow. Checked my math and it turns out I was wrong too.

I must've missed something in my addition last time. I did it again and got seventy-seven, not sixty-two. Someone should probably check the numbers in the full breakdown below.

Start with 23 golden nymphs and 16 golden hourglasses on the field and 8 aether towers in hand. Assume enough quanta for every card played (except aether).

Play 8 aether towers. (more than 8 quanta already in pool at this point though)
Use nymphs to draw 1 fractal, 1 pandemonium (unupped), and 1 brimstone eater (BE means this, not butterfly effect).
Use panda to rewind 3 used nymphs, play 1 BE and fractal it.
Play 2 more BE's.
Use nymphs to draw 9 aether towers (played as drawn) and 1 fractal and 1 panda.
Use panda to rewind 11 more used nymphs as well as the 3 BE's on board.
Play remaining 6 BE's from hand and fractal one.
Play 7 BE's (keep one in hand).
Use nymphs to draw 5 aether towers (played as drawn), 2 supernovas (played as drawn), 1 fractal, and 1 panda.
Use panda to rewind the remaining 9 nymphs and the 13 BE's.
Play the last 1 BE in hand and fractal it.
Play all 8 BE's.
Use hourglasses to draw 4 supernovas, 1 aether tower, and 1 fractal.
Fractal a BE.
Play all 8 BE's.
Use hourglasses to draw 9 aether towers and 1 fractal.
Fractal a BE.
Play 6 BE's (field is full at this point, so two left over).

That's a total of...
39 brimstone eaters
32 aether towers
6 supernovas

For 77 quanta sources in one turn.

Oh. Two things.

First, realized that rewinding would interfere with the draw order intended, so simply replace those with kill. Assume nymphs started with low enough health to die from shockwave.

Second actually affects things. I forgot about haxxing quantum towers to give 3x aether, so 2/3 of those aether towers could be replaced with moar fractal (maybe requiring mindgates). Meh.

Thanks though :D

Post another puzzle if you want, I don't like thinking of questions.

Whats the most amount of active abilities that can be used a single turn in a completely unupped deck?

What about deck with both upped and unupped?

This one's gotta be 40.. 23 from creatures, 16 from permanents, 1 from weapon. No hardcore math or thinking because of summoning sickness. Yes, hopefully?

23 creatures
1 weapon
16 permanents
so... 40 for both

I interpreted "used" as meaning you have to physically use the skill. Something like scavenger is "triggered" by a death, or a ray of light's skill is "triggered" by it attempting to attack.

You have a point there. I might have slipped :-X

Well no you could be right too, I was just stating my personal interpretation. It's really up to BluePriest to clarify what he means I guess.

Ummm...y'all are forgetting what thread this is.  The correct answer is "how much Light quanta can you have in your quanta pool?"

Rustler = Photosynthesis = Active Ability.  Theoretically, if you played mirrored Mindgates w/Fractal Rustlers and Solar Shield, you could spend however long you wanted building up light quanta, and thus have a theoretically infinite amount of activated abilities.
If something happens and you think it deserves my attention, feel free to PM me. Other than that, I'm probably here if you want to shoot the breeze.
