How to edit the content of any web page

In this thread (http://elementscommunity.org/forum/index.php/topic,18778.0.html) and this thread (http://elementscommunity.org/forum/index.php/topic,18782.0.html), you can see that some of us have acquired the power to freely edit the contents of the forums despite having no administrative rights. Now, with this nifty little script, you too can twist any web page to your personal liking!

NOTE: When you edit a web page with this, IT DOES NOT SAVE. Once you refresh the page, everything goes back to normal.

To temporarily obtain the powers of an admin, all you have to do is follow these steps:

1. Copy-paste this code into your address bar, and press enter.

2. Now you can edit anything you want. Go crazy.

However, the web page will currently be in "design mode", with the changed appearance mentioned in step 1. If you screenshot the web page right now, it won't look legit.

3. Refresh the page; this should revert the page from "design mode" back to normal (i.e. no blue text, etc). Then, quickly press Print Screen before the page reloads and erases all the changes you made.

Post yours here! And refrain from posting anything offensive, discriminatory, etc. Don't edit someone's post and make it looks as though s/he said "i iz r3t4rd lulz" or anything like that.

This would be quite the tool to use for fun little tasks on the forum. No wonder that edited picture seemed so much more... believable.

About this. I believe I'm quoting a Firefox user here. Regardless, what I am about to reveal may be extremely shocking for some. Traumatizing for others. Read at your own risk.

Internet Explorer is a better browser for this particular piece of javascript code.
For those of you that are still with me, here's the main reason why: you don't need to deal with random changing colors everywhere. Words not found in the dictionary aren't underlined with red squigglies, and hyperlink names aren't drowned in an unreadable royal blue. As for the ads that may appear, you can delete them.

In addition, this holds true for most url javascript neatness, not just this DesignMode one. From what I remember, the imagetornado script doesn't work as well on Firefox.

So, do have fun with this. Remember that is you Crtl-C/Crtl-V something, formatting is copied as well, so you can stick that bold yellow title font anywhere you want.

Well, even if IE works better for this, DesignMode still doesn't look exactly like normal mode. So if you want to make the screenshot look totally legit, you should still refresh the page and print screen before it reloads.
