I must admit, upon first reading this card, all that happened was that it made me lose the game. I originally thought that was the pure purpose of this card. I now know much better though. The deeper reason that the card was created was for a much higher purpose.
The Cake is a lieThis was one of my first realizations. Look at the cake. Is it really a cake? Better question. What is a cake? What seperates a cake from a pie is usually very simple. That simplistic issue is the crust. Notice though, that we not only don't know what kind of "cake" this is, but since there is no picture, we can not examine the crust, and therefor do not even know if it truly is a cake that we are playing.
Aether is the quanta costWhy aether? I admit I thought this at first too. We have 12 elements. Aether is but one of them. Cake is made with
![Fire :fire](https://elementscommunity.org/forum/Smileys/solosmileys/../../../images/Misc/fire18x18.png)
to heat it up. It takes
![Time :time](https://elementscommunity.org/forum/Smileys/solosmileys/../../../images/Misc/time18x18.png)
to make.
![Gravity :gravity](https://elementscommunity.org/forum/Smileys/solosmileys/../../../images/Misc/gravity18x18.png)
holds it together.
![Water :water](https://elementscommunity.org/forum/Smileys/solosmileys/../../../images/Misc/water18x18.png)
will no doubt clean the mess. Why Aether? I then realized something. Aether is the element of things we can not touch. We never get to touch this cake as it gets delivered to the opponent. Phase dragons, and Immortals are untouchable, and dim shields make you untouchable. Therefor choosing aether simply shows the pure genius of the creator.
You cant have your cake and eat it too.Why have a card that can not be played? No matter how hard you try, it just always seems out of reach. In reality, you could get 76 aether pillars using and eventually get the 76 quanta you need for it, but it would be a fleeting promise as no sooner do you get it, that you lose it. The card can never be played due to this paradox of being able to have but never keep it.
76 QuantaI must admit, that this is something that had me perplexed for the longest time. WHY 76 QUANTA! What is the meaning behind it? Then I realized the conniving nature of the TC. Look at the time the post was made. September 28, 2012, 11:40:36. Remember that. It will become useful later on. What is cake associated with? Birthdays. What do birthdays have to do with this though? It is so sly, that even I, the great BP, couldnt first fathom it. Birthdays are mearly counting down to our demise in an upward fashion. Look at the post again. September 28, 2012, 11:40:36 September is the 9th month so in reality 9/28/12, 11:40:36 is all that matters. However, in life what are the 2 most memorable parts? The beginning and the end. And so we have 96. What was the life expectancy in '96?
In '96 the average life expectancy was 76 years old. Exactly 76 years old. Not even a decimal higher or lower. Coincidence? I think not.
Its a SPELL CARDWhy a spell card? Spell cards are instantly destroyed upon play. If it was a permanent, when the effect was carried out, then it could simply be transferred over to the opponents side. But the thing is, cake, is everlasting. You dont have to see it to know it exists. It always has existed and it always will exist. We dont need to create a cake card to add to the opponents side. The opponent will know its coming, just like a birthday. Its coming and you cant stop it.
You win the game. But of course this is impossible. You can not win the game. There are 3 simple rules of the game. 1)You are playing the game. Playing the game doesnt require consent or even awareness of its existance. 2) Every time you think of the game, you lose. And 3 (which is the only rule that can even be broken))You must announce that you lost the game aloud.---Notice that it only talks about how you can lose the game, and not win. There are no conditions for winning the game. All you can do is not lose as much as the next guy. However, when it comes down to it, the card cant be played, so it continues with the constant theme of paradoxes.
Deliver the cakeEveryone knows the story of the hen.
Spoiler for Hidden:
Once upon a time, there was a little red hen who lived on a farm . She was friends with a lazy dog , a sleepy cat , and a noisy yellow duck .
One day the little red hen found some seeds on the ground. The little red hen had an idea. She would plant the seeds .
The little red hen asked her friends, "Who will help me plant the seeds ?"
"Not I," barked the lazy dog .
"Not I," purred the sleepy cat .
"Not I," quacked the noisy yellow duck .
"Then I will," said the little red hen . So the little red hen planted the seeds all by herself.
When the seeds had grown, the little red hen asked her friends, "Who will help me cut the wheat ?"
"Not I," barked the lazy dog .
"Not I," purred the sleepy cat .
"Not I," quacked the noisy yellow duck .
"Then I will," said the little red hen . So the little red hen cut the wheat all by herself.
When all the wheat was cut, the little red hen asked her friends, "Who will help me take the wheat to the mill to be ground into flour ?"
"Not I," barked the lazy dog .
"Not I," purred the sleepy cat .
"Not I," quacked the noisy yellow duck .
"Then I will," said the little red hen . So the little red hen brought the wheat to the mill all by herself, ground the wheat into flour , and carried the heavy sack of flour back to the farm .
The tired little red hen asked her friends, "Who will help me bake the bread ?"
"Not I," barked the lazy dog .
"Not I," purred the sleepy cat .
"Not I," quacked the noisy yellow duck .
"Then I will," said the little red hen . So the little red hen baked the bread all by herself.
When the bread was finished, the tired little red hen asked her friends, "Who will help me eat the bread ?"
"I will," barked the lazy dog .
"I will," purred the sleepy cat .
"I will," quacked the noisy yellow duck .
"No!" said the little red hen . "I will." And the little red hen ate the bread all by herself.
The hen died a lonely death. She abandoned her friends and had nothing but selfish thoughts in her heart. Well my friends wont help me so I will not help them. And not only did she not help them, she taunted them by asking if they wanted some and then denied them the bread she offered and ate it in front of them. This, I believe is the greatest lesson we can learn from the card. The lesson of friendship. Remember, this may be a game, and a competitive one at that, but it is just that, a game. In the end we are all friends. Why yes dog, you can have some of my cake. Why yes cat, you can have some of my cake. Why yes duck, you CAN have some of my cake.
Thank you Jen-I. I hope this card will be put into the game, for it is a tale of so many lessons and mysteries, that Im sure not even I was able to comprehend or unlock the vast majority of them.
