Oblivion came... until the Detector finished its work, letting loose a small puff of anti-entropy. The puff circled the machine before it, too vanished in a scrawl of words. The Detector, seeing its mandate fulfilled, left the void. In its wake, the next sentence reasserted itself, defining the beginning of a new story.
