Boredom. It's an inescapable disease that causes mass infection and is highly contagious, just infecting those, unfortunate to be oblivious, by a simple touch.
Boredom is the murder of the receptors of joy inside your body. It's unavoidable once it invades your body. It slowly travels through the site of infection, to the heart, effectively killing relationships you worked so hard to get, then to the brain, making you fall asleep in your college courses, or your high school class, or even your job.
Boredom originated around the early prehistoric era when man created fire. Man created fire, and then said, in some ancient language, "What do I do now?" He took a seat, tried to think of what to do, and then, BAM!. Boredom develops. Boredom has mutated through out time and as evolved to adapt to situations where it would have normally died out by now. Boredom is now obtainable by having nothing to do. Boredom has mutated so that you can also obtain it by doing one thing over and over again for a short to long amount of time. Boredom is also obtainable by simply being near a "bored" person, as "bored" people usually have nothing to do and will try to bring you down with them to join. Misery loves company.
There is only one cure for boredom. Time. You have to wait it out. There's no antitoxin. There's no antiviral. There's no vaccine. Once you get it, it has a 100% development rate. So, ask yourself. Are you bored right now?
There are many symptoms of boredom. Symptoms include Laziness, Immaturity, Aggression, Sweating, Breathing, Obnoxious Behavior, A sudden want for Attention, etc. Deadly symptoms that can corrupt one's spiritual appearance. Once you suspect yourself of having any of these, get to the doctor right away. Tell him you've come down with the deadly disease known as boredom. And watch his face arise in shock.
How do you prevent boredom? You don't. I bet you got bored from reading this. I give you my condolences. Just remember. Sanitize your hands after reading a book. Sanitize them after visiting a library. Sanitize them after reading walls of text. You may never know how you can catch boredom in a world where it's everywhere.
