The only thing mono aether has a problem with is gravity shield, that and if you aren't being smart about phase shield. 5 Matches is not enough to get a feel for how to play cards in a mono aether, make sure you have 5 pillars before playing a shield, at 70 health start chaining shields and playing dragons. This deck was also originally meant for level 5, not 3, fire would be faster for level 3.

To be honest, I really had no problems using that mono aether against L5.

I find them easy, but not as easy as AI3. my win percentage on AI3 was over 90%. With AI5 it's down to around 70-90% depending. I get craps hands sort of often, but usually i can stall just long enough to get either just enough quanta or that one card i really need to turn it around.  So they are easy, but not way too easy. Plus, I only have a few upped cards and don't see the ability to use many speed decks against AI5 because of the increased health.

The level of difficulty seems fine, but I don't see how lvl 5 addresses the problem, which is that it costs so much to build an upgraded deck.  I win about 40% of the time on lvl 5 but I have yet to win an upgraded card or a rare card and the games take about twice the time as playing a speed deck on lvl 3 and then you get 6 spins.  With 60 card decks, the odds of getting a match on lvl 5 is slim and given the limited number of upgraded cards there is almost no chance of matching an upgraded card.  I think the decks need to be smaller and about 50% upgraded, but only upgrade weaker creatures and maybe some pillars (you sell the upgraded cards so it doen't really matter what you get).  And maybe put 6 rare cards in each hand so that you have a chance to win one of those.  Right now this game is basically two tiered - those that were able to farm false gods and build upgraded decks in short order and us newbies who are hoping for some way to bridge the gap.  I don't see the current lvl 5 as being much of a help.

I got to farm around 20 FG's before the sundial nerf, that was it, because my strategy was horrible, my deck was horrible. That's when i came here, found better strategies, and began pwning like there is no tomorrow. while yes, AI5 does take more time, the rewards are better than farming AI3, in my opinion, because I can element mastery an AI5 almost every single time, and i only have about 5 upgraded cards, all of which were earned farming for gold. and one that i recieved from a FG that i kept. If you are having a problem, it's probably your deck as a 40% win percentage is horrible against AI5. i win around 80-90% of the time against them. There are decks out there that would plenty fine unupped against AI5, i suggest taking a look at them. They could help you a lot.

I am doing the lvl5s with a 40 card, fully upgraded rainbow I would use for FGs as well and I seem to win about every time ... with elemental mastery.
Also, I did win an eternity (must have had about 4 of them in the deck) and an upgraded momentum ...

So yes, lvl5s do seem to be very easy and probably a bit too easy but they kinda consolidate the lvl6-no-wins-situation.

The 'bridge' comes in the fact that AI5 are much easier to farm unupgraded than FGs are, and they give decent money and a chance at an upgraded card (which you can basically sell to turn into any other upgraded card).  Once you have enough upgraded cards (I think ScaredGirl recently posted that it takes about 7 specific upgraded cards), you can move on to FG farming.

I've won 20 cards off of L5 half of which were upgraded. L5 is also a bit too easy to beat...As someone else pointed out they really aren't quick on the draw and when they do get critters out they aren't all that brutal.

So if you're whining about not getting cards then either improve your play or your deck. You can't blame the developer if you suck...

In my opinion it would make for a better L4 than an L5...

I'm not getting many cards, but not because i lose, it is because of bad rolls on the slotmachine :)
And probably because they got too many different kinds of cards. I wouldn't say it is a problem, though.
When the AI is improved L5 will be as tough as it should be for level 5.

The majority of my wins are Masteries, however I'm not getting as much monetary return as I might with another deck; bad draws hurt me badly.  Its a good balance, at least ATM.
