Deck Help / Re: Fate egg deck
« on: November 22, 2010, 08:48:20 pm »
I had this SoD/SoR/Eternity T50 Harm some time ago. The stupid AI unfortunately wasted SoRs for Fate Eggs, so the deck didn't work like I meant. Oh well, hope you like it. BTW Changing SoD to SoG makes it even better, but I didn't want to make it too hard for grinders.  ;D

Deck Help / Re: Need some advice

Have you seen this topic?
http://elementscommunity.org/forum/index.php/topic,522.0.html

The Scaredgirl's deck with those 5 upped cards is enough to win FGs with win% around 10-20%, so go for it with the deck you have now. Even the very best fully upgraded anti-FG decks have win% ~50. Grinding AI5 will take you really long time to get the money (~40-60k) for those kind of decks.

Usually you win 1 upped card every 3rd time you win FG, and by selling those cards you can get tons of money to get the more cards in your deck upgraded. Every time you upgrade a card, the win% increases and the time to get the money for next upgrade gets shorter. Depending how much you're spending time to play, you can get your deck upgraded within a couple of days or couple of weeks.

Happy Grinding ;)

I have 2 white nymphs now, and they are an awesome addition to this deck =D
if you could, please post picture of deck ;D
do you think its better than this version of CCYB?

My opinion is that my Hope/RoL version beats all CCYB versions in speed, both on time to win and turns to win. Win%, score- and electrum-gain are in par with best CCYB versions.

General Discussion / Re: Fail Draw - Math people whats the percentage?
« on: November 21, 2010, 06:51:20 pm »
Actually you couldn't have used 36 turns to get to the position on first post. Even if you didn't use Sundials or Hourglasses for card draw, you'd be there faster. More likely it took you only some 25 turns to go down from 48 to 13 cards while Elidnis went down from 112 to 59, those things possible only within 23-28 turns.

Another thing, the probability of getting mulligan isn't ~20% because you have those upped Sundials, 0-cost cards, in your deck. The correct p(mulligan) =~ 0,107 =~ 1/9
*edit* wrong numbers used :-[  The correctly counted p(mulligan) =~ 0,0913 =~ 1/11

Why don't all dragons follow the skills of the nymphs?
The Nymph abilities of those don't target single creatures.
 :air - Generate unstable gas
 :gravity - Absorb 3 quanta per element from the opponent. ...
 :light - All your creatures without a skill gain “bioluminescence”
 :time - You can see your opponent’s hand. Draw a card.
 :water - Turn one of your pillars into a Nymph

Buff This Card! / Re: Virus - Retrovirus
« on: November 21, 2010, 09:57:07 am »
How about when the creature infected by the virus dies, two viruses appear on your side of the field? (That's how viruses work, right?)
No. when a virus dies it just dies.
I believe you misunderstood what kintar meant. When the virus-infected-creature would die, it would give you new generation of viruses - just like viruses replicate themselves in their life cycle.

I actually really like that idea, but I'd boost that mechanism even further. I think it should generate N new viruses, where N=maximum health of virus-killed-creature: Photon -> 1 new (Retro)Virus, and Light Dragon -> 12 new (Retro)Viruses.
:o Now that would be something.
that would prove to be quite OP.... then virus would be the ultimate CC
What exactly makes you say that it would be OP? Sure that thing would buff Virus|Retrovirus greatly and the card cost should probably be increased, but would the ability itself be better than all these: Otyugh, RoF, Eternity, Aflatoxin, Antimatter, :entropy Nymph, and Permafrost Shield?

Rainbow Decks / Re: Legit 30 card FG Deck with Brimstone Eater
« on: November 19, 2010, 10:43:29 pm »
Tested this and had pretty good results, didn't bother to keep stats, sorry. It's real fun deck to play with, cos all those 1-ofs keep you guessing whether the next card will give you some new tactical options. If only this wasn't so darn slow to play with. :P

I traded Gravity Shield and B.Eater for Spine Carapace and :aether Pendulum. I like how SC works with Malignant Cells. Pen cos I tend to overuse Eternity on enemy early, and like to get lots of cards with Mindgate.

Top50 list can be seen here
http://elementscommunity.org/forum/index.php?action=pages (scroll down and wait ~10 sec)

As you can see, pedr123 has submitted his (her?) score at least 6 times this week, and the mochigames score-list hasn't deleted previous submissions like it should.

You taken into the chance of the first hand failing (for the mulligan), which is about 1 in 5, and you get approximately 1 in 12 million.

Would people actually be interested in a thread about how probability actually works? I'd be happy to make one if people cared.
Exactly where did this 1/5 estimate come from?
That's the change of having no towers in first hand (and therefore using the mulligan), which can be calculated using hypergeometrics.

Note: The 1 in 5 is for this specific deck, so long as the towers are the only thing that cost 0 in it.
That hypergeometrics is "really hardcore math" for most of people here (me included), but that probability is actually pretty easy to calculate. Basically you just calculate the probability of several events happening one after another:

First the probabilities of single events:
You draw 1st card: 48 cards, 9 pillars, 39 other -> p(1st card is not pillar) = p(1) = (48-9)/48 = 39/48
You draw 2nd card: 47 cards, 9 pillars, 38 other -> p(2) = 38/47
3rd card: 46, 9, 37 -> p(3) = 37/46
.
.
.
35th card: 14, 9, 5 -> p(35) = 5/14

Then the probability of all those things happening one after another:
p(quite bad luck) =  p(1) * p(2) * p(3) * ... * p(35) = 39/48 * 38/47 * 37/46 * ... * 5/14 =~ 0,000000426... =~ 1/2.345.604

p(mulligan) =  p(1) * p(2) * p(3) * ... * p(7) = 39/48 * 38/47 * 37/46 * ... * 33/42 =~ 0,209 =~ 1/5
