Forum Archive / Re: Stop making farms.
« on: November 27, 2010, 04:31:52 pm »
When I'm in T50 early in the week, I ask for farm requests. However, I always bite, since I remember thinking harms were the most fun when I was a beginner. If people want the same charity I was given, I will give it, for I love giving. You have to remember not everyone have time to farm for rares as intensely as many others, and thus it can still take them many months to get them all.
Couldn't have said it better. So kids, beware if you see me in Top50, I'm gonna bite, and when I bite, I bite HARD! >:D

PS. Miracle/SoR Harm coming next.

Do what is right, like make statement that the candidate who got 2nd most votes on presidential elections is elected for president. ???
Which happened when? It wasn't when Bush beat Gore.
The supreme court stopped the Florida recount and Bush was elected for president while he had only 50,4M votes vs. 51,0M votes on Gore. You do the math. What shocks me even more in that situation is the total number of votes: only ~100M votes from ~280M population. Don't you guys care who's leading your country?
Gore was only calling for a recount in specific areas where he was likely to gain votes, but not in areas where he would likely lose them.

A couple sources went back and check afterwords (CNN.com, LA Times, Washington Post, Miami Herald, USA Today), and they all agreed that Bush likely would have won anyway.
What the end result would have been is not the issue. If the recount was started in the first place, it quite obviously shows that there were some legislation that made it possible for Gore to make such a claim. If there weren't such law, how did the recount even got started?

That aside, there's more that went into making that decision then you seem to be aware of, so I'd recommend you go actually read the case before you talk about it.
I'm sorry that I wasted your time, since you must have multiple PhD on this subject... Yes, lets talk only about those things we actually know. So how's the weather there, eh? It's freezing cold here and it just started snowing. :-X

Yeah the 3 thing win i got was in around 20 games but rest of the games were like...4-5 turns. I got a screen shot it you want ill post it.
Getting 3 turn win, although possible, is highly unlikely with this deck. First you need QT giving you 2x :entropy, then 2-3 SNovas, and then 4-5 damage cards to table. All that on turn 1. I suppose the probability for such start is around 1 to 1.000, or even 1 to 1.000.000. But if you got that, please do send the screen shot, you lucky one. ;D

Nerf This Card! / Re: Toadfish
« on: November 26, 2010, 12:08:26 pm »
On Topic:Let us compare the vanilla (no skill creatures) of Darkness and Water

Black Dragon
10|5 for 10 :darkness
Ice Dragon
9|6 for 10 :water
(0<HP<6) is worth 0, (5<HP<8] is worth 1
From these stats we can conclude that the stats of Darkness and Water creatures are comparable.
Now let us compare the Infect creatures of each
Parasite
1|1  :death:Infect for 2 :darkness
Bloodsucker
3|1 :deathInfect for 2 :darkness
Toadfish
6|4  :air:Inflate for 5 :water
The difference in Cost - Value between these two is 2
From these stats we can conclude either
Parasite needs a buff on the order of an equivalent of 2 attack or
Toadfish needs a nerf of the same magnitude or
Parasite needs a buff on the order of an equivalent of 1 attack and Toadfish needs a nerf of the same magnitude.

The Current side discussion:
A standard can and has been calculated. This standard can be used to balance the cards within the rounding necessary by the game.
Fixed.

You should also notify widely co-used cards on your comparisons, here Nightfall/Eclipse.

Citizens should always have the right to say their opinion whether they still think their leaders are good for the position or should the leaders be changed. In other words the government should always be controlled by the people. Being nominated for life on a position with high authority only leads to severe problems, some notable rulers that were "chosen" for their positions for life: Kim Jong-il, Fidel Castro, Adolf Hitler, Saddam Hussein...

This is exactly why Supreme Court appointments are for life. So that the judges can do what is right, instead of what's popular.
Do what is right, like make statement that the candidate who got 2nd most votes on presidential elections is elected for president. ???

The whole point of democracy in modern world is that everything gets done the way the people wants = what's popular. If the judges really could do what they think is right regardless of the people, US government type should be changed to oligarchy.

So if it wasn't clear by now, I voted Yes, people should have the right to do so.

Deck Help / Re: Inundation & Nightmare - Ideas for Deck based on those?
« on: November 25, 2010, 10:46:24 pm »
zse's blog, dunno what moondate.
The cunning strategy of using Nightmare+Photon seems not to be working, since AI often refuses to play free useless creatures and fill the 1st row with those. Same problem also hinders the use of Condor, although it can grow pretty big from creatures AI chooses to play.

That still leaves some strategies for Flooding/Inundation:
1) Nightmare useless creature AI has played -> AI plays all copies -> Profit. Well, not exactly with FGs, since they don't have useless creatures (ok, some exceptions do exists).
2) A.Squid. Yes that works, just add winning cards, protection, more stall, life gain... Basically the easiest ways are using Mindgate or Fractal. Problem is, Mindgate without the whole Flooding-strategy nonsense works better! And do I really need to remind how good Hope-RoL is.
3) Nymph Tears for :entropy :aether :earth :rainbow Nymphs. Again Nymph Tears alone is better.
4) What if... nah.
5) How abou... NO!
6) A... FORGET IT ALREADY!!!
...
Oh well, back to the drawing board...
*first looks Pandemonium, shakes head, then picks good old Fire Storm*

Deck Help / Re: Inundation & Nightmare - Ideas for Deck based on those?
« on: November 24, 2010, 09:48:00 am »
Aflatoxin has no use. It is other, and therefore does not die from Flood. I tested it, believe me.
The cunning plan was to fill 1st row with Malignant Cells and use that for lock-down. Not really the fastest possible way to do it, and maybe not that good anyway.
Now, with this cards.. let me see what I can do..

Ideas!

1 : :water  mono. What to do, what to do? Well, just grab yourself that arctic squid, freeze all the critters in the main line and let flood kill the rest. Slow killing. Hard quanta design. It might be really bad, but if I get the right amount o' pillars..
That's already done, see below.
2 : :water :death duo. Inundation kills, vulture gets benefit from that.
Might work, have to think about that.
3: :water :darkness duo. Vampires would drain the life of the opponent, inundation would simply kill. Drain Life is good CC, too.Nightmare would be used on your own very expensive creature (ex: a dragon, or a vampire.) and fill the opponent's hand.  ^^
I was actually thinking of using Nightmare on a low-attack creature opponent could play: Photon, or any of the creatures opponent has played. Then opponent would have 1st row filled with small attackers and Inundation would take care of the rest (at least the un-quinted ones).
4 : :water :aether :death :light quartet. Inundate the whole place, fractal your photons (that by the way, have no cost) and let them die. Vulture benefits.
Hmm, nah. Too hard strategy.
5 : :darkness :water :aether :death :light . Probably the hardest one to come up with, but the idea is the same, except that with skull shield and nightmared photons. It might just be really bad because it's automatically a rainbow now.(However photons are free =PP)
...
As you  can see, I have lots of random and crazy ideas with inundation or nightmare, but not a deck with both of them. Maybe you could nightmare your photons with a skull shield while inundating and fractaling them with a vulture. That is just crazy.
I'm still not convinced for the idea of using Vulture that way. Lobo, Rewind, and Mutation can disrupt that combo too easily.

The reason I find these decks hard to make is the simple fact that you need always up and running water quantum to use them.
i actually dont see much synergies for a nightmare/inundation deck.
thats mostly, because :water and  :darkness dont have any synergies at all.
:water :darkness don't have much synergies, but  :water :darkness :earth has: Trident, Pest for quanta denial.
Quote
well the inundation is in it, but just usefull, if you face mass creaturespam deck.
its like the old purify, a very sitational card. ;)
Yeah, it is that now, but this topic will (maybe) completely change it!  :))

I've now been using my (SoD/SoG/Trident/A.Squid) T50-Harm/Anti-AI5 deck with pretty good results:
(http://imageplay.net/img/m7Gbd105795/Fish_Disal.bmp) (http://elementscommunity.org/forum/index.php/topic,15780.0.html)
Click the picture to activate link to the topic of that deck. The problem in that is, it seldom needs the Inundation, since Toadfish are often enough CC. But that is the case only in AI5 while FGs just rush that deck in no time. I guess I continue building that :water :darkness :earth trio with possible :light splash for Photon/RoL and Mirror Shield.

If you have any other ideas or comments, please post here!

That would most likely need a rage or mindgate deck. I can't help you make it though, as I'm not great at those sorts of decks.
Rage? Do you mean rage-quit? Stall with lots of SoG+SoD+other life gain? I suppose that's required for such a slow strategy I'm aiming at.

PS I'm aiming for anti-FG (with > 30 win%), or anti-HB (with > 80 win%).

Deck Help / Inundation & Nightmare - Ideas for Deck based on those?
« on: November 23, 2010, 08:26:31 pm »
I've been reading the topics how Inundation and Nightmare are in desperate need for major buffing, and it's really got to the point where I'm just getting bored for it. So anyone willing to join me for task of being devil's advocates building actually working proof-of-concept deck around those 2 cards?

So far I've been thinking of using these cards, but I'd be happy to get any inspiring suggestions and/or ideas from outside-the-box-thinking.

No heal eh? But the deck does have it in form of Black Hole. So you actually had even that side taken care of. ;)

I'd change Forest Spectre for Elite Graboid, and Hourglass for Precognition. But I can also understand why you have chosen the cards you have, and if you like it that way, then keep it as it is.
