Forge Archive / Re: Hieroglyph | Eye of Ra

I used the deck in the trainer but replaced the Eyes for unupgraded shards.
Unupped shards drain 1 quanta per click but remain in the hand. Thus you can click one 3 time to represent casting the Eye and 2x per usage of the skill.
Keep track of the number of cards destroyed and you win if the opponents deck drops below your cards destroyed count (at which point exit, check details for turn count and start again)

Last I checked the AI bases its PC on the cost of the permanent so It will always target the Upgraded Hourglasses before the Eyes thus the lack of a real permanent will not affect the results very much.
Very clever method, though it doesn't actually remove cards from the opponent's deck. Very vital cards that the opponent could be using would naturally be destroyed by Hieroglyph. Also, I tested using this method, and with an upped deck, I beat a level 3 in approximately 10 turns.

Looks ready to be submitted into the Crucible, IMO.

Please test the card before you declare it terribly OP.
Denial always gets negative gut reactions but Posidon is not OP.
Uncounterable (which this is not) gets negative gut reactions but Qunited Chargers are not OP.

I playtested this card and I approve of this card despite being slightly to cheap IMO.
Actually, Poseidon is OP in my eyes as well. That's what makes it my favorite weapon. (;

But I'm curious. How do you test a card like this if it isn't in dev..?

If it were a permanent, would it continuously damage new characters as they came in? I'm a tad torn about this spell, though. On one hand, mono-Aether and mono-Darkness together has as many CC cards as mono-Air on its own and so needs a couple more, I'm questioning if Fractal-Devourer needs anymore help?
Yes, that's exactly what it would do. But remember, incoming creatures wouldn't take the full blast of the Permanent form of the card. This could be a very cheap card to be used against :fire and :entropy.. Also, seems more like this should be in a series. It's a tad bit cheap to single out two elements, :aether and :darkness in this case. I'd vote for it if the card damaged anything out of a mono-range. But not like this.

I agree with Howitzer. Should be a spell.

Also, you said there was no counter to this. There is a counter, but it's costly.. Malignant Cell + Eternity. A limitless supply of creatures to Reverse Time only to keep your cards flowing naturally. And that only counters one of these Hieroglyphs.

You see how often Hourglasses are used, and they have the same unupgraded stats as this card. And remember, since this is of the :time element, then it can even be used in unison WITH said Hourglasses. And think of the possibilities if you used 6 of each, as well as an Eternity and a Photon or Spark to recycle. A deck made of pure Time Factories, Eternity, Golden Hourglasses, Hieroglyphs, and a Photon would tear a deck to shreds without giving it a chance.

Now if we were to introduce some sort of revival ability, this could be countered more efficiently. Alas, there is none, so this remains overpowered, at least in my eyes.

Oh yes, I forgot this was being used in a rainbow deck.. Perhaps if this was simply given an element? Life, maybe. It does associate with Scorpions, and it seems that Permanents and Spells in the "Other" category that aren't shards don't get put into the game very often. This would probably have a better chance of getting voted for if it wasn't in the Other category. Just IMO.

Also, (lol) I meant to change the actual "Art by EmeraldTiger" inside the card itself. Also, make sure the card text matches the table text word for word and punctuation for punctuation. Made that mistake before. Doesn't seem like a big deal, but the Curators don't like it for some reason. (Fix the periods at the end of your tables)

Introduce Yourself / Re: 5pla5h/5pl45h

The moderators did say to lock it..

Though while it's unlocked and the topic is live, I'd just like to say that there should be an introductory section for those who are new and who aren't. I just realized I've never made a formal introduction either, though I've been here for a couple months at least. Post count wouldn't be enabled there, but I feel it should be available. Limited to one post per user, via rules? Just my opinion, of course.

General Discussion / Re: What's your favorite Rare Weapon?

Trident. Ironically, it's the only weapon I have one of, whereas I have at least 3 of the rest, excluding Eagle Eye, which I have none of.

Wouldn't this make more sense as a permanent with counters (3)?

Already made except it deals 2 damage all the time and heals you for 5.

Emphasis on :rainbow counterpart of said staff.

Game Suggestions and Feedback / Re: Remove Pulverizer Self-destruct
« on: January 01, 2011, 10:40:56 am »
Steal can also be a good reason to destroy your own Pulverizer.  If you played it before your opponent accumulates 3/4 :darkness, then destroy it after you pulverized a few things but before he can nab it, he can't use it against you.  This is probably only a reason for self-destruct you'd see against a rainbow deck.

Related issue: if I click any card with an ability, then decide I don't want to use that ability yet, the "cancel" button should refund the quanta consumed and refresh the ability so it can be used again.  That has screwed me over many times, and there's no reason for it.
Like Dm1231 said, it was listed in the known bugs thread. It's nonrefundable quanta as a fix to some sort of glitch that abuses the refund, I think it was..
