I agree the cost is really top end for only effecting creatures once, though I do see this working well with oty's and what-not. IMHO I'd give it a 4 :time|5 :time play cost and not change anything else. Other than the cost, the card is pretty solid.

Even 5 :time is to low, try 7 :time|9 :time. Or maybe, 6 :time|7 :time, plus it drains all remaining time Q

I prefer it with the "creatures with no ability" clause to, its a reasonable nerf which could keep the play cost low and people who use it will have to consider using more Basic creatures. I think it would go great with a boneyard and a few OTYugh's! 1/1 momentum skeletons. It would actualy be the first card to convince me to use the GRAVEyard instead of a boneyard in one of my rainbows decks.

No matter what, the gist of this card is really cool, I love it.

How about call it a "Gnomish Clockwork Drill"  and it sounds really fun, too. Being gnomish and clockwork, it should be an "other," no particular Qauntum type, card.

Here's an idea worth considering. Make him start off as an Ice Golem, a 6|3 creature. Have his card read, "If Ice Golem is dies then the Ice Golem becomes a Water Golem."
Water Golem is a 3|6 creature, have his card read, "Sacrifice Water Golem and put a Flood card into play."

Even an upgrade as simple as fog shield (2 :air down to 1 :air) is money well spent to me. The incentive for me is that all cards I use, except boneyard and guardian angel, are lesser cards until upgraded. Make the upgrade to large and it really becomes an entirely different card. An hour of farming without winning any cards will usualy upgrade a card for me. Whats an hour?

When will the next card competition be, anyway? And who will be doing the selection? Or was that a one-time thing?

It is an interesting idea.

Just a thought, go read the sticky post about the format for posting card idea's in this sub-forum. Then, when you have the time to do it, modify the first post of this thread to comply with the correct format for posting card idea's. Its not exactly neccessary, but the moderators want some level of continuity in here.

I've been brainstorming this at work today. Got a sweet idea. Because I am at work, I will not be able to post the three cards threads properly, but wanted to get the ideas into debate. So, for now, I will just post these three threads as text only. Then when I get home later tonight I will come back and put the first post of each into compliance with the "posting card ideas" requirements. Lets get this started.

FIRST CARD:

Yet unnamed, give me some name ideas.

Its a Permanent
The card element is  :death
Its cost to play is      5 :death unupped, 4 :death upped
The ability cost is      0
Card Description:  When a creature dies generate a random spider and give 1 poison damage to you
(Or have it drain 2  :aether per turn, if no  :aether then it is destroyed?)
