Exhibition Hall / Re: READ THIS BEFORE POSTING YOUR CARD IDEA!
« on: August 20, 2010, 11:50:54 am »
With the current system, we have selection per element in the crucible, but per type in the forge.
I understand how you want fewer categories in the higher tiers, but because people seem to vote for creatures more than perms and spells, this results in the 'per type' forge being quite unbalanced.
Could we think of a better way to do this? Maybe have a vote per cluster of three or four elements, instead of per card type?

Game Suggestions and Feedback / Re: Pay the oracle!!

Actually, I think it's a great idea!
As long as the cost is high enough (100 electrum maybe?), I think it would be a very nice way to promote diversifying your FG farming decks.
To clarify, paid uses of the oracle after the first per day ONLY provide FG info; no nymph chance, critter, money, card, etc.

You would want to make the cost so high that it will only make your FG farming slightly more efficient if you do it well.

The main point is that FG farming will be much more FUN!
Wouldn't you love to use your knowledge, and to have a deck built specifically to kick that )&@$ing dark matter's @$$?!

Game Suggestions and Feedback / Re: Changing ultimate spells

Is this an attempt to nerf Fractal? It's a bit too harsh to me.
Yes, it's an attempt to nerf fractal, miracle, and any future Ultimate spells for non-mono use.
So actually, it's an attempt to nerf rainbows mostly.
I suppose you could find an intermediate nerf that doesn't affect duo's as much, by saying it drains all  :aether:light / w/e and up to 5 quanta of every other type. that way rainbows still get hit hard(ish), but duo's will not be completely undermined.

Maybe just thinking of cool, epic cards then scaling them back before sliding them into the card list might be better? Safer to have weaker cards that need upgrading rather than OP cards that need scaling back.
I don't know... the mechanic of having a drain all quanta spell seems nice. I'd like to see one for every quantum type (preferably with the proposed modification).

How many people use fractal and miracle in a mono deck? They slow things down too much. If not rainbow, these decks are usually at least duo.
You're right, people don't. If you implement this rule, you could even think of lowering the base cost, making these spells more accessible to mono decks.

Besides, cards that cost multiple elements have been discussed. It's been concluded that the game code would require too much reworking to implement them anytime soon.
Ummm... It would still cost (require in order to play) the same. It would just also drain more. Since there is code for black hole, it shouldn't be that hard, methinks?

This won't make rainbowing harder, it will make it near impossible.
Are you saying you can hardly think of a working rainbow deck that does not rely on miracle and fractal? That seems like a rather unlikely statement.

I really like the concept, and would like to add one to the series.
However, I would advise that the whole set gets its first attack without any special ability (and ESPECIALLY not momentum). That way, you start from just attacking, and it only gets a combo bonus when it, eh, becomes a combo.

Propose to use 'grounded' or 'walking'. Non-airborne sounds forced.

lol the term 'neurotoxin' is actually gonna be used in game, except with different effects.

Dune Scorpion : Neurotoxin. (the opponent) Discard 1 card upon successful attack.
Yes, as such I think a name change for this spell would probably be advisable.

AI currently does not know how to deal with neurotoxin. An electrum hourglass AI will continue to draw and play at maximum speed, even though it's killing itself in the process.

Wow, I propose a permanent topic, and you guys just make it AND use it that much? Cool! =P
Seriously though, thanks for the forward.

and if so, if i happen to win anything, can i have it feed my main IGN (being plain ol'' Metahater, obviously)??
Yes. Your reward is a code, which you can cash using any account (which means you could even give it to someone else if you wanted).

OK, I read that it returns to your hand. My bad! =P
I like the splash idea, and because you still need to draw the card, it's not that OP without extra card drawing.
Therefore I think this is probably strongest in a  :time/ :water duo deck where you focus on  :time, and include these to pay for your water stuff. You only need to draw one, and the fact that it cloggs up your deck is not a problem for  :time.

In your first response you assumed a non-upped bone wall. Upped bonewall costs 5 :death, not 7 :death. The quanta cost for this combo is reachable by most rainbows.
You're right! Even worse! =)
The thing is with the new pendulams this card is quite OP since now it is fairly easy to balance a duo and maybe even a trio deck. so im looking for possible nerfs any ideas?
Why not make it consume ALL quanta instead of just all  :earth ?( http://elementscommunity.org/forum/index.php/topic,11363.msg151990#msg151990 )
This doesn't affect a mono  :earth at all, but it really punishes rainbows and multi's, which are the ones that benefit most from this card as well.
