Round 7 / Re: (Light) xdude vs mrblonde (death) - illegal deck
« on: December 11, 2010, 12:47:09 am »
Somehow, I saw this coming.

I do hope that death does well in it's non-suicide matches this round. It'd be a shame to have you go from 2nd to 12th in 2 rounds.

Also, it's pretty hard not to give us something good in a rainbow selection of 30 cards from your vault. I can see at least 6 salvage worthy cards. (Strangely though, we've beaten legal decks with nothing good in 'em.)

G1: Went with a parasite build, expecting a rainbow with little CC. Got bolted to death.

G2 + 3: Devourer Fractal is supposed to lock firestall, right? Apparently not this time. >_< I got Bolted some more. I was killed 2 and 1 turns before I could have DL'd him to death, respectively. Second time with Pestal, I used all fractal instead of 4. (My fractal were scarce G2, but all showed up G3. Ofc, there was only 1 card left in my deck when I died G3.) Also I stole his Pillars instead of shards G3, it didn't help.

G1: V. Shrieker Rush (Win)

Thanks again, mrpaper. When this started I was really scared, 'cause he had a time mark and time pillars. Shrieker rush has been known to pack rewind, and if he was packing 'em, I was pretty much done for. It appears that all he used the time for was Hourglasses, and Graboid evolving. He apparently had a bad draw for this, as he didn't get any shriekers 'til late game when all the could do is get their attacks absorbed by my titans. I win.

I figured I could rush any stall if I only played titans I could fly. Unfortunately for me, He played UG and I didn't draw a titan until I was down to about 40 HP. I lost.

I had an T2 Vamp Dagger, and T4-5 Dusk. I picked off his first 2 adrena-frogs with DL, and let the dusk/dagger Combo hand the remaining damage. (Plus I was holding a miracle for good measure.) Eventually he got out a druidic staff, which meant I was only doing 1 damage per turn with my dagger. At that point I just waited until I could DL him to death, and did. I won.

Anyhoo, I lacked air early on, and wasn't prioritizing it's use well. 'sides that, I didn't draw any staves or adrenaline until I had about 12-15 poison on me. Amazingly, I pulled out at the end when my draws haxxed in my favor and I got 2 adrenaStaves out. I won.

So it appears that this is like looking for Feebas. (If you know where to look, they aren't rare at all. If you don't know where to look, all you have is dumb luck.) In that case, I shall proceed to use my fishing pole all over the place to figure out where zanz hid the Feebas.

Here fishy, fishy, fishy.

Only 14 light cards in this one.

With 4 :fire matchups, we don't have to put as much thought into what deck we put where.  The Majofa, Acsabi44, and Stinnger matchups seem nearly interchangeable. The only way that I can think of  that we may be able to gauge what deck to play against which is by PvP experience level.

Also, we can haz our :fire/ :light stallz back?

Round 6 / Re: (entropy) SirValimont 2 - 0 (aether) Toimu13 (No contest)
« on: December 04, 2010, 02:17:49 am »
Fenix's work has been partially undone by team Aether. Remorse.

Let's see...
-4 Happy Discords + 3 Happy Discords = -1 Happy Discord

That doesn't make me feel better...

That's 4 less discords for entropy. Woot!

Good job Fenix. Great start for us, and good job messing up Entropy. If all goes well Light'll be winning 5 more matches this round.

G1: V. BH/Discord (Win)
Code: [Select]
5bs 5bs 5bs 5bs 5bs 5bs 5bs 5bs 5bs 5bs 5bs 5c6 5c6 5c6 61o 61o 61o 61o 61o 622 622 622 622 622 7ae 7ae 7ae 7ae 7ae 7ae
This one was tight, though I saw BH/Discord coming when I saw the pillars/pends/mark. I played everything I had whenever I could ('cause BH/Discord usually doesn't bother with CC or PC). In the end it came down to one discord scramble: I had a lot of life, and 10 Aether. If he got my aether below 9 he could kill me next turn, if not I'd fractal FTW. That scramble left me with 10 Aether. I win.

G2: V. Water Rush (Loss)
Code: [Select]
5f0 5f0 5f0 5f0 5f0 5f0 5f0 5f0 5f4 5f4 5f4 5f4 5f4 5f4 5f5 5f5 5f6 5f6 5f6 5f6 5f7 5f8 5f8 5fb 5fb 5fb 5l8 5l8 5mq 5mq 5mq 5mq 5mq 5mq 7dn 7e4 7k2 7k2 7k2 7k2
My pillars/pends decided to hide in the deck, and I only got one in my opening hand. At the speed he was rushing, I never had a chance with that hand. I lose.

-1 :fire Mark

G3: V. 30-card Adrena-Staves (Win)
Code: [Select]
5bs 5bs 5c5 5c5 5c5 5c5 5c7 5c7 5c7 5c7 5c7 5oc 5oc 5og 5og 5og 5oi 5oi 5oi 5oi 5oi 5ol 5ol 5ol 5on 5on 5pu 5pu 5pu 5pu 5pu
I had CC, he had Quints. Those cancel out and we're left with: "31-card Adrena-Staves > 30-card Adrena-Staves".  'nuff said.

G4: V. Water Rush (Win)
Code: [Select]

This one looked bad for me until he played a permafrost, which I promptly stole. With the stolen permafrost I was able to haxx away damage more effectively than with my dusk, and didn't have to waste my DLs as CC anymore. I DL'd him to death. My :fire Mark was avenged.

 :darkness Mark Stays

GGs Dictator. GL in your coming matchups.

EDIT: Oh, yeah.

Remaining marks:

Does anyone else remember a post somewhere saying that death didn't have Viruses? I seem to remember them posting that somewhere...
