Archived Decks / Re: Fire Stall. I know, I wtf'ed, too.

As stated above, the opponent will almost NEVER have more than two or three creatures in play at a time unless they save them up and rush in one turn, so RoF is ultimately unneeded. With this much control, you can ensure that your opponent won't be able to kill you with creatures. PA would be a nice addition, except it would only clutter the deck, and honestly, it's not needed. With two Bucklers, three Fahrenheits, six SoGs, and Towers, there are more than enough permanents to outlast your opponent's perm-kill. Even if there is a PAed Pulvy (god forbid), by the time it becomes a threat, you'll already have won.

Don't get me wrong, your deck is good, and I'm not claiming superiority, but Firestorms and Protect Artifacts are not needed. Trust me, build it in the trainer and try for yourself. =)
Yeah - I see what you're saying, i've just noticed that there are quite a few players in PVP running fractal decks that ROF really helps with.

hey mate,

i've just posted a similiar deck:

http://elementscommunity.org/forum/index.php/topic,6529.0.html (http://elementscommunity.org/forum/index.php/topic,6529.0.html)

i would add in a few fire storms and lose a few rage elixirs, you've got too much single target damage.  protect artifacts can be important in keeping your buckler up at all times, plus your shards to keep you alive.

Archived Decks / The Ultimate PVP Deck - Fire/Earth
« on: May 14, 2010, 04:19:33 am »
This is the ultimate PVP deck.

Essentially you win almost every time, and you basically only lose from a ridiculously bad deal (ie. 5 protect artifacts in a row).

Protect Artifacts are there for your Fire Buckler, 4 Shards and one for your pillars (if needed, otherwise on a shard).

Use the Fire Lances/Fire Storms/Fire Buckler to burn down rush decks with less than 40 cards, use your shards to keep you alive.

Conserve Fire Lances (3-4 needed) when playing with decks that have more than 40 cards and wait until you have enough quanta to burn them down in one turn.

This deck owns shreiker (time/earth)/aether mono decks/non-perm control decks, you can have 6 shards and your fire buckler down without needing to wait for your PAs.

Only deck that can beat it is a 41+ card deck with a reflective shield or a lucky Pest/Fractal deck that can quanta starve during the first few turns.

I haven't lost yet playing in the Top 50 (this might be the CPU more than anything else).

Been using this deck in PVP to great success.  It's a very defensive deck that wins either through a fire lance full kill or through your opponent decking out.

Strategy 1 - If your opponent has less cards than you

Put down your permanents one by one ensuring that you have a Protect Artifact ready to go down with them.  The Fire Buckler will slowly kill your enemies creatures whilst your Shards will keep you alive.  Use the Fire Storms and Fire Lances to kill any large creatures they might have, and the Explosions to counter weapons and offensive permanents.  Wait it out until your opponent decks out.

Strategy 2 - If your opponent has more cards than you

As in Strategy 1, put down your permanents one by one ensuring that you have a Protect Artifact ready to go down with them.  Use your Fire Storms and a maximum of 2 Fire Lances for creature control in combination with the Fire Buckler.  Explosions take out any offensive permanents or weapons.  Your shards should be able to keep you alive until you are ready to kill your opponent.  Wait until you have the required fire quanta before burning down your opponent in one turn using your remaining fire lances.

The reason I have included two Fire Bucklers is because it is really important to play a Buckler + Protect Artifact early in the game.  The shield is a massive counter against heaps of creatures - golems, unupped forest spirits, lycanthropes etc etc.

Weaknesses

- Shrieker rushes can kill you if you don't draw a Fire Storm before they are able to get 6 on the table.
- Momentum heavy decks are a really good counter to this deck as they are able to bypass the fire shield.
- If the opponent gets a quinta'd Forest Spirit (upped, the 2/3 version) on the table early you have basically lost unless they somehow run out of quanta to keep growing it.

Rainbow Decks / Re: PVP - Nova/Immolation Speed Deck

PS. I get called a cheater quite often with this deck, people can't understand how Golems can go from 7 / 1 to 10 / 4 in one turn or how Crimson Dragons can be played as 13 / 4.  This is especially true for people running fire decks who save fire lances until a turn after they've seen a golem be played.

Deck Helper comment:
This deck was posted before the 1.32 game update and as a result may work very differently now.  Use at your own risk.

Been having good success with this deck, it is very Fire reliant but has cards from a bunch of different quantas -

Tips:

Ideal first hand is Nova, Nova, Phoenix, Cremation, Phoenix, Cremation, Golem/Dragon.

I am using unupped Crimson Dragons because a dragon with Unstoppable can survive one fire storm or one fire lance.  Don't play unstoppables on Golems until they are 9 / 3 (makes them able to survive fire storm/fire lance).

Precognitions are used to get a feel for an enemies deck before playing my permanents (in case they have steal/destroy etc) OR to choose whether to play a lava golem or a dragon after an immolation (if they have control cards then play golems, if not then play dragons).

This deck is extremely successful against other PVP speed decks.  I used to play fire storms/fire lances but replaced these as I prefer speed over creature control.

Let me know what you think!

Game Suggestions and Feedback / Make the Oracle more pronounced
« on: March 02, 2010, 05:12:39 am »
I've only just realised the Oracle was there after having played my 800th game  :'(

Can you please make it a bit more pronounced so people know it's there?

Thanks,
