Duo-Decks / Sleepy Scorpions - Water/Poison control

Blank cards are SoPa. This is a slight change-up of other water-poison control decks that used Momentum, etc. to start the poison rolling for the scorpions. SoPa is a more stable alternative to Eclipse here, especially considering its cheap cost and most importantly that it doesn't require that third quanta type. Deck is intended for Lvl3, although it can potentially get around the upped 2-damage reduction shields with 3 SoPa.

General strategy (pretty straightforward): hold onto scorpions unless you need to play one to avoid discarding until you have a couple and a SoPa and preferably a few crawler's and octopi on the field. Play all scorpions and then all SoPa in one turn; SoPa effect will stack, but still only 1 turn will be lost. High poison levels plus well buffed water creatures will quickly overrun Lvl3.

It's not best, and definitely not the fastest, but I thought it was entertaining to use. Suggestions are welcome, for the name too  :)

Rainbow Decks / Re: extremespowed vodoos

Wow, this looks like a fun deck. Overall balance seems nice, though all of liberalboy's points are valid. A Cloak could help hide you're dolls after a few turns with overdrive, and maybe a Improved Fog to avoid rushes. Don't know what to replace though.

Edit:
Just tried it in Trainer as is. It's hilariously awesome against Lvl3! Only lost matches where a voodoo was at the bottom of the deck, but as long as you can hold out 2 turns for SN activation you should be good due to precogs. I love it  :)

The hourglasses are put there on purpose so toucan draw towers and get a double skyblitz I've tested this deck an it works once you get one dragons out save up novas to use then as soon as you use skyblitz you send out towers to do another skyblitz in the same turn.
Fine, didn't see that. I still feel you're going to be pressed for quanta but if your strategy is a double skyblitz then I guess that's your best bet.

Law of the Excluded Middle
-Only cards which cost less than 3 OR more than 7 quanta are allowed. The 3 and 7 are exclusive (card cannot be either 3 or 7 cost).
-Only cards with ability cost that is not 2 are allowed.
-Only elements not in the middle of the deck-building screen are allowed (no  :life:fire, or  :water)
-All pillars/pends are OK.
-Upped cards are OK, as long as they adhere to all regulations. Obviously, shards can't be used without breaking regulations.

The Arena / Re: How do you rate decks that beat you ?
« on: December 10, 2011, 04:42:34 am »
@Puri1: Correct me if I'm wrong, but your post specifically implies that Ghostmare, and more generally, Generic Novabows firestalls and SoSa Poison Stalls, don't have a lack of originality and thought, since they don't get an automatic thumbs down like Aetherstall.
Yeah, I was actually thinking about it later and decided I need to clarify my position. If they build any of those you mentioned, I wouldn't thumb it down iff they used the Oracle card as an essential part of the strategy. So if their Oracle card was a Nightmare/GotP, I would give a thumbs up assuming they won due to it being a well made deck (and not sheer luck). There's unfortunately not a huge selection of decks that can utilize those cards in the excessive amount of 5 apart from Ghostmare, and I don't feel it's fair to penalize the player for getting lucky with the Oracle and using a generic build if it's one of the few that can handle 5 copies of those cards.

This reasoning applies to Fire Shield as the Oracle Card (Novabows firestalls) and Poison/Arsenic as the Oracle Card (SoSa Poisonstalls). What other deck can you make with 5 Fire Shields and hope to be semi-successful? Thus, if I recognize the deck archetype while playing I use this logic to see if the Oracle card was needed and is being used in that build. Now, the "essential to the strategy" bit is important. If they make a Ghostmare because they have Time Tower as their Oracle card, then I would thumb it down since they could easily have done something more creative. Finally, the reason I single out Aetherstall is because out of the dozens that I have played in Arena, about 80% just mindlessly change the mark (or not) to incorporate their Oracle Card but leave the rest of the deck in the regular old setup. That's boring and cheap, so I just thumb them all down.

I hope that helps explain my apparent thumbs up/down madness  :D

Woah, 6 Electrum Hourglass may be at least 3 too many for this deck. Their play and usage would suck up needed quanta for Silurian Dragon, especially since your mark is  :air. Precogs might let you burn through your deck faster and with less overall  :time quanta usage. Still, it's a neat idea.

7/10, Somewhat catchy, though not terrific. Her voice is pretty good, but the song loses some of its steam halfway through. Though I liked it enough to check out some of her other stuff so...yeah.

Some (psuedo)-dubstep. At least listen till the drop.

Who really should have won in Mega Shark versus Giant Octopus (and why, preferably)?

Lady in the Water, without a doubt, is the worst movie I've seen. Actually, most things M. Night has thrown out there (The Last Airbender, The Happening, etc.) have been mostly garbage in recent years in my opinion. Come on man, make your fellow Indians proud!

Rainbow Decks / Re: PVP Graboid Rainbow (unupped)

-1 arsenic + 1 crusader? (Can endow with arsenic?!) :D *Had first really good idea methinks*
Oooh, be careful there. That costs 8 light quanta unupped to pull off the combo. If you'll notice, Antagon cleverly kept the quanta usage for each element at about 4 quanta per element total in the deck. Fire, Time, and the variable Water used for the FS's growth are the only exceptions (of course, Earth is an exception because of the mark). Throwing down 8 light quanta for a single monster which can be rewinded, etc. does not overcome the costs. That's why Blessing or Sanc have been proposed, they both fall in the roughly 4 light quanta range. Poison or Deathstalker were also suggested because they would act as a quick and dirty alternative to a second Arsenic while still keeping at a 4 Poison quanta limit.

Archived Decks / Re: Eternal Dragon (Mono-Aether Anti-False God Deck)

I figured this was bound to happen as soon as I saw someone mention in the new shard discussion thread that this would act like a dim shield. However, due to the relative "newness" of Sosa compared to some of the other shards most people don't have this many copies. So thankfully we hopefully shouldn't need to deal with this in Pvp quite yet. It's very annoying to face in Trainer. I used my usual Pvp decks to avoid cheating and building a specific counter to it, and found they failed often enough that I would be frustrated seeing this pop up everywhere.
I just hope they ban shards in general for PvP ;)
Definitely not, PvP2 is a decent place to get shards from spins. Especially if you don't feel like grinding the arena for rarespins it's one of the few ways to get them.

The Arena / Re: How do you rate decks that beat you ?
« on: December 09, 2011, 03:24:56 am »
It's been said, but Aetherstall is an absolute thumbs down for me. Even if it's well put together, it doesn't matter. It still shows lack of originality and thought, and I got real mad when I saw one in Silver. By that point, aetherstall should be used only (if at all) as a FG farmer. Seriously, by Silver League you should be more creative than that.

Most other decks, even ghostmares, get a thumbs up if they were well made or utilized the Oracle Card well and thumbs down if they won due to dumb luck or if they completely ignore the oracle card and just made a generic build.
