Lots of good points there Kev (what a surprise, lol) and i'd like to add my two  :electrum

Path of the Challenger - I really like this. To be honest for most of my articles, i put effort into it, BUT i didn't PUT effort into it because basically it was an ungraded thing. Get err done get the credit. This way, it definitely makes it tougher to do but more rewarding in the end.

Path of the Master - The bonuses never made sense to me here mainly because the Challenger always gets 10 points for winning their respective tourney which likely puts the Master already at a disadvantage. And the Master's Tourney was super meh last time round with it not only being mono but being allowed to ban a card as well. Talk about gimping certain elements.

Final Battle - I am of a mindset that if a player doesn't want to ban SoG's it's definitely within their prerogative so no need to have it pre-banned (i know i love my SoG). 6 total bans is more then enough to cover most of what needs to be banned.

I do love the forum award icon's given to Master's. That would definitely be cool.

Yeah, but could be the difference between 4th and 2nd.
You lose as soon as you are unable to gain 1st. Aether even though is down to 34 cards, still can win.
agreed, hence :death based their strategy on trying for just that.

Yeah i agree having an auction likely is not very feasible. But in reference of it being the "most" fair, auctions are the way to go. Snakes have their inherent weaknesses but as of yet haven't seen a remedy to the solution especially since in this type of event many cards aren't interchangeable (like for instance baseball outfielders in the 6th or 7th round). I do think an auction would be fun though.

Yeah that is absolutely horrible. There is a reason why snake drafts are the most popular. They are easier and one of the fairer versions of drafting. Picking last is hardly ever better even with the turn. There has been research done on how the higher you draft the better (i have and do play a lot of fantasy sports). This version would give the top picks such a strong advantage it would pretty much be ridiculous. Having higher picks later in the draft is never better since the relative strength of the cards goes down significantly.

Honestly the best way to go is to have an auction with a set amount of "money". Getting everyone together to do this may be a bit difficult but making a separate chat (typewithme anyone?) and setting a set time where representatives of each team can all get together may be feasible.

Sorry for letting you down. The commitment was just too big for me at that time (new job, real life, you know the drill). I know an explanation isn't an excuse, but I just wanted you to know I'm terribly sorry for not doing what I was supposed to do.
Completely understand Xdude. But yeah a PM would have been nice.  ;)

im not liking this snake format for picking, it gives 2 teams an advantage over others.  why wasnt a rotational way used instead, allowing each team to pick first, rotating down the list for each round?
A rotational way would give teams 6,5, and 4 a huge disadvantage and the top teams a much bigger advantage. Why do you think the majority of fantasy drafts are snake formats? It's basically because it's one of the fairer ways to do it. If we REALLY wanted to make this fair we could do this auction style with everyone a set bank account. Course that would likely take forever BUT we could probably make a chat room at an appointed time and have members duke it out.

Who would've guessed that Step's post was 5.5 weeks premature?  :)  I just wanted to say I really enjoyed the War and I have you guys to thank for that.

Blonde, you're a far, far better leader than you give yourself credit for.
Step, I hope you know how much everyone appreciated the tremendous amount of work you put in.  This team would've been an absolute train wreck without you.
Xn, you won a buttload of matches but your biggest contribution was probably comic relief.  ;D  I enjoyed our time in chat.
Marv, thanks for stepping in.  Few subs bother to immerse themselves in a team, contribute, and learn the way you did.  We were lucky to grab you.

Thanks again, guys.  Looking forward to seeing you all on the field of battle again.  8)

Sure, same to you. Left out.

Well, I know I really didn't do anything, I didn't do my job and I really didn't win any match. So yeah. I think that in my position all I should say is "Good job" or something like that.

Thanks for the war experience, guys. ^^
Oops sorry about that DM. I do want to thank you for joining the team when you did to help us out of a tight spot. Really didn't work out as planned but much appreciated and didn't mean to leave you out.

Kevkev - great player, great leader, not overrated in any sense possible. i am very happy to have had you on the team and i've learned quite a bit from you.

SteppingStone - the man who made me lazy.  :P As kevkev mentioned we would likely have been a wreck without you. Your worth is understated and hope to see you as a Master next war as Kev likely will to.

Xnoize - throws yarn

Marvaddin - i know there were some rocky patches and misunderstandings but you were definitely a valuable part of the team.

Yeah thanks for all the nice words guys. War was fun, and agreeably a bit too long (although we do wish we were still hanging around). Had a great bunch of guys to work with and am pleased with the outcome.

Zeru - yeah wasn't complaining just stating that wings can't counter if discord comes out on turn 2. In the end though that deck is better then ours.
