Issue Archive / Re: Aflatoxined Malignant Cell?
« on: February 01, 2010, 11:28:29 pm »
I had a similar issue in the Beta. It appears that the malignant cell characteristic becomes attached with the actual card space in the field and not simply the creature (and I've seen the same happen with the the Aflotoxin characteristic). I've killed said cell/creature multiple different ways (devour, fire, even lobotomized it) but when the creature dies it looks okay; however, if a new creature comes into that same spot, it picks up right where the previous one left off!!

definitely a bug; unless the malignant cell is INTENDED to actually infect a spot on the playing field, that would be interesting.

It makes sense from a technical standpoint that Fire Shield knocks off Immaterial and Burrowing, since the shield does not need to attack (target) a creature, it is a response to being attacked itself.

Whether it is "fair" or not is a different argument.

But on the same lines, fire storm should also hurt them since it is not a "targetable" attack, it simply blankets a field with raining fire.

Just a thought.

Druid's Staff comes it at number one, just because it's so much fun gaining 60+ life a turn once you have a few Animated Adrenalined Quitessenced Druid Staves out.   Just don't choose it for your quest weapon, because it's easy to farm via AI3.

Then comes Pulverizer, and Eternity.  They're just too useful in a variety of rainbow decks.

Follow that up with Eagle's Eye (also easy to farm) and Lobotomizer.  Repeatable creature control = the win!

Then comes Titan, Morning Glory, then Arsenic and Fahrenheit.  Hard-to-stop damage and ever-increasing damage are good.

Second-to-last, we have Poseidon -- an excellent tool under very specific circumstances, but those circumstances are hard to find -- and so is a Poseidon!

Finally, we round off with Discord and Vampire Stiletto -- one of which is annoying, but not lethal; the other is measurably inferior to Druid Staff in every respect and needs a boost.  They basically suck.   Though I understand that Discord may be changing to eat quanta instead of scrambling it -- that would immediately bump it way up in the rankings.  :)
Great summation - thanks!

What's the best weapon in your opinion?

So I should keep farming for an Eternity Staff? Or should I get a Pulverizer?

Why remove the Staff and Reverse Times?
because Eternity is more effective than RT's and the Staff is extra weight since you have a bond.I think you should add in some Boneyards?
But I don't have an Eternity yet. Shouldn't I keep them until I can find one?

Take out fate eggs, add in some more Otys, take out Druidic staff, all fate eggs and Reverse times.
Why remove the Staff and Reverse Times?

For later (if the link becomes dead)
Thanks - I could not get that to work!

Any implementation of some of the newer cards, or a random miracle tossed in?

I do not know any better - that is why I am asking for help.
I win about 90% L3 and about 60% L5, but would like to be able to do more than about 10% against False Gods.
I am having terrible luck winning cards in L5 and there are not a lot of good things to win in L3 (though I seem to actually win cards more often).

Why would you ever spend the time and money to upgrade a Fate Egg?

My comments: it's too big, doesn't balance it's mana consumption well, and basically looks a mess.
What should I buy/add instead?

If i were you i would remove the plague and get some nice death cards like bonewall, graveyard...
How would you kill creatures then? Especially ones that will burrow/immortal in a turn or two? Graveyard is not a bad idea, but I can steal them.
