Patch Notes and Development News / Re: A few details about T500
« on: July 01, 2011, 04:38:28 pm »
Today's changes in the beta are awesome! (And I just beat a platinum deck -- whoo hoo!)

I am just amazed and astonished at the skill and vision Zanz puts into this game.  It is a never-ending source of challenge and entertainment. Thanks, Zanz!

Oh, and I have one question. Are winning streaks reset overnight? I thought I had streaks going in bronze and silver (I might be remembering wrong), and this morning none of the continuous victory circles are lit up.

Thanks,

I'm really liking the Arena. It suits my style of play very well. I like the unpredictability of PVP decks but dislike synchronous, real time, "face to face" PVP. This has the best of both. I was starting to get bored playing False Gods, but now I have a whole new set of goals to achieve!

Tutorials / Re: Money Management

Rule of Thumb Number One: Never sell upgraded cards unless you have more than six copies, and never sell unupgraded cards unless you have over 12 copies total (unupped and upped).
Suppose you’re accumulating wealth and you decide you’ll never play with Aether cards, so you sell them all.  If down the road you enter a PvP Event or a Tournament which requires Aether cards, you’ve paying about a 40% markup over each card you sold.  And the waste adds up quickly.

Why six and twelve?  Because the most copies you can have in a deck are six and you can’t unupgrade cards, having over six upgraded copies is superfluous.  At the same time having ten unupped Flying Weapons and two upped Animate Weapons available means you can upgrade an additional four if you need to and still hold six unupped copies.  If you win an additional upgraded copy you can sell an unupped copy and still be positioned ideally.
So if I'm following this correctly, the main reason to keep 12 of each card (6 unupped and 6 upped) is in case of PVP Events and Tournaments? If so, then since I never play in those, I don't need 12 of each in total, just 6 of each card (unupped plus upped), right?

I'm soooo confoooosed!

Why a Fog Shield rather than a Permafrost? What is the advantage? (I should be able to figure it out myself, but my brain isn't working today.)

Morte / Re: Oracle : Morte
« on: June 17, 2011, 06:53:17 pm »
Wouldn't the UG deck work against Scorpio also? I just played Morte with it, and today the Oracle says Scorpio, which also has no perm controls and lots of poison. Seems pretty similar. Any thoughts or comments for me before I play him?

(I don't know if this post should be here or in Scorpio thread since it relates to both.)

Thanks,
LSK Piano

Edit: Two problems with using UG deck against Scorpio: Deadly Poison goes around shields and Permafrost disables Nymphs.

It worked! Beat him, got EM, won Animate Weapon.

Used the ROL/Hope deck in OP, semi-upped. Used upgrades I had in my hand as follows: 5 ROL, Elite Deja Vu; plus Miracle and Upped Miracle, plus Light Nymph I happen to have. :P

I misjudged once and he Miracled, but fortunately I had drawn a Miracle and played it too.  The second time I calculated right and ambushed him.

Sweet! Good deck.

Rainbow Decks / Re: Quick Draw Dragons[upped][PVP2][pillarless]
« on: June 14, 2011, 04:55:24 pm »
I believe you meant going second is a problem.
If you go first, The trick is to try not to play anything on the first turn (0 quanta) then draw 1 card
then on the second turn, when your hand is full play a sundial.
On the next turn, activate the SN, which will you give you the :light quanta to activate the Sundial
Proceed to chain sundials, play SN's, use precogs etc...

If you go second, then your hand will be full before you can do anything
My order of discards is cloak (depending on the deck, sometimes you will need cloak for PC/CC protection), then collosal/stone dragon (if you aren't using the Twin Universe, tossing  the precog first), then tossing any precogs. You should have atleast one of the above cards, otherwise play a sundial

What you guys really need is a video, because some people just don't understand this deck, but some of you have been successful with it.
Yes, that's exactly what I meant, just didn't say it clearly.

I had an upped Pandemonium which I subbed for the Discord and I switched the Parallel Universe for a Dim Shield. I find them useful in emergencies.

The first turn is a problem if you win the toss. Basically have to discard something because there's nothing you can play yet. Unless I'm missing something.

Just my thoughts. Definitely a fun deck.

buy the unupped precogs
you won't be able to play some upped dragons with only 6 snovas, and most unupped dragons can be launched one snova earlier.
Thanks, that's what I thought.

Edit: Whee! This deck is fun!!
Also weak against Neurotoxin though.

Looks interesting, giving it a spin. I don't have that many precogs, should I buy or can I substitute Electrum Hourglasses?

Also, I assume I should use upped dragons if I have them?

Thanks.

Yeah, I just found a mention of it in the Dream Catcher thread so nvm. I'll leave this post here though in case someone else is looking for it.

Nice money.

I just defeated Serket and won an Upgraded Relic. The Bazaar says I can sell it for 1025 electrum. Is that right?! Or have I died and gone to heaven?!

The only thing I see discussed in this thread is Unupped Relics worth 65 electrum. Is this something new? It makes sense that a nymph relic won from T50 or AI5 would be unupped and a nymph relic won from a False God would be upped. But someone earlier said they won a relic from Dark Matter I think, and it was just the 65e one.

Anyone know?

Thanks
