I just used this as the basis for my Gold Arena deck today. It's an old deck, I don't remember what it was based on, but I was experimenting with using Shards of Readiness. Here I use them to power Steam Machine, Lava Destroyer, Anubis and Elite Pegasus.

There are so many things wrong with this deck I can't even count them!

Comments, suggestions, improvements??

Thanks,

Deck Help / Re: 2 Questions on a Fire Deck for Bronze League
« on: August 31, 2011, 07:11:12 pm »
Ditch the fire spirits, and go for a few more pillars; you'll want all the :fire you can get, and the spirits need both time and protection to function well. Phoenix is pretty good for durable damage.
As for the fahrenheits- just stick them in. You'll want to get one out as soon as possible, and it doesn't hurt to have a spare to increase the chance of getting it/shrug off a steal or explosion.
Ok, thanks, I'll give it a try.

I just reverse engineered the above deck from a Bronze league deck submitted by Mamhat that is ranked 8 today. I have two questions I need help on.

1. He is level 18 so he can afford 2x mark. I'm still only level 7. With 1x mark the deck is obviously quanta starved. Until I can afford 2x mark, how many pillars/pends should I add for most efficiency? Or should I add a couple Immos to use on the Fire Spirits??

2. I already won two Farenheits. Seems a shame not to use them! What's the best way to incorporate them in this deck?

Thanks,

The Arena / Re: Diversity of Decks
« on: August 31, 2011, 05:11:33 pm »
I and several other people have been countering fire decks in Platinum league for a few days now. It's hard to say how much influence it really has but I do occasionally push a fire deck down the ladder.

So yeah you could say the people playing Platinum League know better how to deal with fire decks.
Cool  :)

The Arena / Diversity of Decks
« on: August 31, 2011, 02:00:33 pm »
I haven't been tracking this over time, but since I know there is some controversy over the preponderance of Fire Decks in the Arena, This morning I happened to notice that all four top decks displayed on the Arena page were  :fire Marks.

I was curious how many of the top 10 decks in each league were  :fire and made what I found an interesting discovery. The proportion decreases as the league level increases.

Bronze is 6 of 10
Silver is 4 of 10
Gold is 4 of 10
Platinum is 2 of 10

Assuming this is not just a temporary anomaly as of this moment, I wonder if this is due to more experienced players in the higher leagues who know how to defeat  :fire decks better, or if it's the only element forgiving enough for bronze leaguers to successfully build winning decks?

Thoughts?

Thanks,

Okay, can I get someone to test out the Dragon Bow for me?

A quick test in Silver with a mostly unupped version netted me around 7/10 games won and a lot of EMs.

This is basically Celandrion's version +1 Arctic Dragon.

The idea of the deck is pretty simple. You wanna draw through your deck as fast as humanly possible, and play dragons rush style (Not OTK style).
You end up netting more SNovas, more Towers, and more HGs as you rip through your deck.

Then, when you're about to win, you Blitz + Chimera + LS for the (Almost) guaranteed EM victory.

It should be a pretty good score/money grinder, since EM wins mean a lot in the Arena.

So, could someone do some testing for me please? It probably works best in Silver, but it might be okay in gold.

Feel free to make tweaks if you think it helps the efficiency of the deck.
I can confirm the results for Silver Arena. Just went 8-2 with 7 EM's with the following mostly upped deck. Should have been 9-1 but I badly misplayed one game, so one loss was due to user error. :D

Here's the deck I used, based on EvaRia's and cards I own. Felt quanta starved at beginning so added one QT, kept getting killed too fast so added one SoG. Upping the two Entropy Pends made a huge difference. I intend to keep building this to fully upped to see how it fares against Gold and Platinum.

Deck Help / Re: Chimera Deck Not Sturdy Enough For Arena?
« on: August 29, 2011, 08:10:04 pm »
In my opinion the SoG's only slow it down, it;s not like you;re trying to outlast the opponent anyway with this.

- Drop the SoG's.
- Upgrade all chargers if possible... :(
- Drop a few Chimerae, you usually only need one to finish the match so 2-3 in your deck should be enough.
- Upgrading towers/pends would make it a bit fast, wich would be good. (massive dragons are slow)
- Add one more Titan.
- Possibly remove Dragons and add Overdrive? Seems alot faster.
- Don't play your Chimera to early.

Note that these are all just suggestions!
Great suggestions. Although upgrading will take time, everything else I'll do right away.

(Update: Still having problems. Just lost three in a row to Bronze League. Deck is still not fast enough. Help?)
((Finally won one! Saved up to play Dragon first, then Accelerate. Seems obvious now. :) ))

**2nd Update: tweaked and holding steady at 60% win rate versus Bronze League thru 15 games. Deck mods from above are minus SoG's, upped one charger.**

I'm trying to build a Chimera deck for the Arena (to fight the T500, not to submit). This one does okay against Lvl 3, but even against Bronze Arena seems to always get killed. I think I need perm control, tried 2 Fire Pends and 2 Explosions, but still was too fragile. Should I add more SoG's? A shield? Or should I pare it down to just pillars, Chargers, Dragons and Chimera?

Suggestions, please??

Deck Help / Re: Help with Speed Poison for Gold Arena

Why get 60 wisdom when you only have 12 in the deck? If you're concerned about the cost of unupped Freeze, you could make it 2x mark and remove the pends, then use the extra points for maxed HP.
Good point. I will remember that in the future.

Deck failed miserably, 1 win, 3 losses before sinking below 500. Oh well.

I'm more basing it off of a very similar deck i had up for my deck.   So if the shards are helping you can leave them, but i tend to find bonewalls more annoying as it removes almost any chance to get 200 hp off.
Ok, thanks for the help!

Drop the shards, and add in another arsenic if you can, if not another bonewall. then drop a couple congeals for a couple more bonewalls. Or a puffer fish if you have one.
Can only drop one congeal since the oracle gave me 5  :D. I do have another arsenic and another bonewall, but I don't have a pufferfish.

But why drop the shards? When I was testing it, it seemed like I needed them to survive, especially in the Arena.
