This card seems powerful in that it literally stops healing effect and made it a drawback by hurting the owner of said healing effect. And in a glance, it seems powerful because the existence of the most broken healing effect that are readily available for all element; Shard of Gratitude. Unfortunately, at least to me it seems this effect is too narrow to stand on its own. The genius thing about this card is that it has a built-in effect that can do some wonders even if your opponent is not using any heal effect of their own. Only that permanent with 1 turn limit usually cannot use the ability on the same turn which means you either have to reword the text to something along the line of making it a trigger effect instead of increase the turn to 2 as it was in unupgraded form.
Rework text for trigger effect replacement :-
All healing is dealt as damage for one turn. Heal target for up to 3 HP. Use up :light as you play this card.

Who would have thought a cloak-like ability on a weapon? Genius!
I really like the idea of a cloaking device and since Cloak already did that in spade for everything, a specialized weapon that target only your creatures seems the second best. But I feel like it is a bit too powerful since it granted an ability to your creature which something that has never bone done before by a weapon. Granted, it is only cloaking every other turn but being able to spam this on a full field is a bit OP in my opinion.
What I would do instead is change the wording so that it would read like this :-
Weapon. Deals 6 Damage.
:darkness :darkness: Target creature is invisible for a turn. Cannot target the same creature next turn.

Also, the name is a bit misleading, the weapon itself is not hidden, 'sup?

This card reminds me of similar card in M:tG (you saw that one coming huh?) that does something similar. While I agree that the addition of forcing the drawing of cards make this much better, I think the discard effect should have a much bigger impact, I mean you should force your opponent to discard more than they could draw.
My suggestion for the text would be :-
Forget
Opponent draws 1 Cards and discards 2 Cards at random.
Brainwash
Opponent draws 2 Cards and discards 3 Cards at random.

If this is the case, the cost need an increase to mirror how powerful this spell can be, so something between 4~5 :darkness ?
Also, if you could, try to find art which visualize the agonizing pain / psychic(sp?) mental torture to further amplified what this spell would actually do.

I like the idea of having obscure interaction that is also very flavorful. But flavorly speaking, it does not make sense to me (well, more than a spark or a photon being a creature, I guess) that this was made a creature. Originally I thought it was a permanent similar to pillar/pendulum or the latest quanta generator, Soul Catcher. Maybe a name change is in order? (But that would remove the flavor aspect so I can see the dilemma there, sigh)
Second, the quanta generation is a bit much in my opinion, fractal these (kinda hard not to imagine anything made broken better with that cursed card) and suddenly your darkness quanta will bloat up so much to fuel your Siphon Life which is definitely not cool in my opinion. at least with Fractal-Pest your opponent needs to have quanta for you to steal, this only require Eclipse for 2x :darkness each and that is much easier to achieve. I'd say reduce the quanta generation to just 1 :darkness.
and change the text on the last line to read :-
:darkness: Target creature has 50% evasion.

This creature reminds me of a creature in Magic: the Gathering with similar 'drawback' (a magic lingo we use for cards that are either cost effective for what they do but with a negative built-in feature), they were pretty cool, no doubt.
Unfortunately, in Darkness, there are already tons of small creatures (and by 'small' I mean those costing 3 or less quanta to cast) to choose from; Pest, Bloodsucker, Voodoo Dolls, Minor Vampire etc
Being somewhat immaterial (if i understand correctly) is a plus and interaction with Eclipse also help but I think it would be best if you switch the life loss so that it would suck your life less after upgraded. This way, you could fractal the sucker (pardon the pun) and still have an army of spell-immune critters that will wreak havoc on your opponent. I believe it does not actually have immaterial so correct me if I'm wrong.

Card Ideas and Art / Re: Haunted House | Haunted Mansion
« on: January 14, 2011, 12:15:12 pm »
I like the idea of a permanent with an active ability that generate creatures because control-able generator means you get to decide when you want to have your creature battle-ready rather than being shot down by that Fire Buckler from across the field right away.

Also, anyone giving comment should check out Ghost | Phantom to make sense of what I am going to say next. For what it does, I'd have say the cost or either this card's ability or those creature cost/ability/stat should be tweaked. Also, it does not make sense how a Haunted House supposedly attract ghosts by light looking at the ability cost. I'm sure you would have wanted to mirror the creature's ability but I feel like using darkness quanta to generate those creatures would be much better.

All in all, this card is kinda okay except change the ability cost to :darkness. But something needs to be done about the creature when they're involved or otherwise this would be too powerful.

This is my deck submission for the Trial of Darkness 2011. Further info can be found here (http://elementscommunity.org/forum/index.php/topic,19002.0.html)
I have decided to explain my deck creation/selection/whatevertion in the form of FAQ[TIMUM].

Frequently Asked Question [That I've Made Up Myself] :-

Why 'Darkened Sky'?
Yes, the title is very cheesy but it was either this or Flying Troupe of Impending Doom: Blitzkrieg!.

Why Sky Blitz?
I figured Darkness has an awesome selection when it comes to mid-range critters and luckily both of them (yes, just 2 but some elements has none at all) have the passive: Airborne.

Why Eclipse?
There are many buff to make the spell: Sky Blitz utterly broken but none of them grants +2 attack (+4 after a Blitz) to each critters you have on the field (under the condition that they are either in Darkness/Death) and could work just as well even if you did not draw a single Blitz all game which is why I add a couple. They are fabulous, period.

Dude, Imp.Fog? Where's the Imp.Dusk man?
Pretty easy, Improved Fog is 1/4th the cost of Improved Dusk and you'll most likely have 1 :air quanta by the start of your second turn. You probably have 4 :darkness quanta or more by your second turn too but you already Darkness quanta heavy in this somewhat duo so spreading the quanta usage is the wisest choice in my opinion. And -10% less evasion (as I like to call it) is not a big deal because a hax shield is a hax shield, you know what I'm saying? (Just nods)

Enough talks, show me the money statistic, STATS?!
Oh, sorry about that.

Any extra tidbits?
I'm glad you asked...
- anything with Eagle's Eyes - dont cast anything until you have an Eclipse OR about to do an alpha strike (with Sky Blitz)
- anything with Maxwell's Demon - look directly above, more than 1 demon, you're screwed
- death-based decks (Mor-) is annoying, dont put out more than 3 critters until alpha strike
- fire-based decks (Pyr-) is a real pain...avoid at all cost

i am trully disappointed that people fail to schedule a match when they're made aware that they are still in an on-going event
since i've heard from no one, both matches will result in a coinflip to be made later (after i woke up)
