So... I guess somebody has to get the leftover cards and play a deck with them.

I drew dead plagues throughout each match as I could not even have thought about using them.  It is fairly difficult to play cards requiring 4 :death when only a mark is powering them.  I didn't play a single light card in the first or third matches, partly because :air and noobiecakes had constructed a really nice high-damage deck, partly because the quanta balance was a little off on ours.  I felt if this deck would have been constructed a little more carefully, it would have been a nice matchup for theirs.

Noobiecakes was a great opponent, a real pleasure to play against.  Good luck to :air and everyone in the future, sorry I let :light down.

I came back from the wedding I was at this weekend and was fine with switching decks.  Especially since we didn't really have the cards to run firestall the way I would have wanted; however, I was given a horrible deck which I am embarrassed to have played.  It was partly my fault for being out of town and not being able to fully give my input at the time, but how am I supposed to generate all of the death quanta that was included for that deck?  I could never even play any of the plagues that were drawn because I was generating 1 death quanta per round.  I understand sometimes we have to make sacrifices and throw things together at the last minute, but that was a little embarrassing.  Please make things that function as a deck in the future.  Sorry for the rant.  I had to get it out.

sry, i just recognised we have only 2 fireshields (and 2 fahrenheits, we discussed this in chat) in our vault.
i modified my post to a legal version.
you can still add:
+1, 2 miracle
more pillars/pendulums (just watch the 50% if adding fire pillars7pendulums)
another deflag
2 fire shields, 3 fahrenheit is fine.  I'm glad you caught that mistake and kept our deck legal.  Thanks.

I think this would probably work well for a mono light deck in our match vs. entropy:

Pure stall:

May want to go -2 dragons to slim it up, its just a starter thought.  I really don't think dragons are a good idea vs. entropy because if they go mono entropy, I am almost certain we will see antimatter.  The only card which is a real counter to this is pandemonium, and I just don't think they will bring that into play as it does not counter our usual decks well.  This deck can even beat their heavy damage rush they brought last round with a good draw.

Again, I want to reiterate that they will most certainly bring dragons and possibly AM.  For this reason, I am not sure that the draconis deck is great.  Its hard for me to put faith in dragons being our main damage source against entropy when I think they will predict this.  I didn't post this on typewithme because it isn't working for me right now.

Coinich and I had a little discussion about fighting air with mono the other day - perhaps a deck with Light Dragons would work? It has high health to slow down EE and bypasses Wings. Main concern would probably be rushing or denial but sancs could be splashed in to counter that/
If you're worried about rush, go with solar shield/miracle.  If you bring CC, then sanc may work since you can heal back little by little.  Denial is tough either way.  My preference is to win 6 cards 80% of the time, rather than 12 cards 50% time even though that's bad gambler's logic.

Another thought: Immophoenix with blessings cares little about wing or EE, bring explosions for weapons, and discord is neutralized.
I would definitely be open to playing a mono if nobody else wants to.  Ours kind of suck, but somebody has to try.  If you saw my deck analysis, its really hit or miss for my matchup anyways.  I'm worried they will just go EQ again.  I would be willing to try dragons, solar shield, miracles & morning star.  They have TWO nasty wings/recluse decks, but I kind of doubt I will face them, given our deck profiles from round one.

Jimmy-

I am sad to see you go, but had a feeling this was probably coming.  Sorry I didn't catch you in chat before you left as my link has been broken for some reason.

In a eulogistic sense:

You were definitely my biggest influence in life, and quickly and efficiently showed me the way to make great decks, both for AI3 and PvP.  I appreciate everything you have done for me.  I was always so impressed with the way you took time to help new players out, and encouraged everyone to get more involved with the game.  I hope to catch you around sometime on chat or get nostalgic when you make an appearance on the forums.  If you put half the work into your dissertation as you have this game you will surely land a great job. Best of luck to you in the future!

Ok, I did a pretty extensive Trainer test using my top 3 deck selections.   I fought against the 7 air decks from round 1, 5 games each, with 3 decks.

Here are the results and what each deck struggled with:

Poison/Miracle Stall: 26-9 (0-5 vs. FFQ, 1-4 vs. EQ)
Firestall: 25-10 (1-4 vs. EQ)
Graboid/Peggy Rush: 24-11 (2-3 vs. Heavy CC)

-Poison stall isn't strong enough to deal with any healing, wings are problematic for the speed,  and I am a bit worried they may pack a purify.
-Firestall really struggles with EQ and their dragons.  It may be a really solid choice if we can modify, I guess I would try to drop the miracle for a way to better deal with dragons, but I'm out of ideas and my brain hurts.
-The rush deck really struggled with their two decks that utilize Wings/Webs, and their toadfish/OE decks.  I kind of doubt we would see heavy CC.  Some of the wins seemed more due to AI stupidity as their CC/shields had this deck locked down pretty well and I narrowly achieved victory on several occasions.

I really don't know what to take away from this.  My match seems to really be dependent upon what deck they choose.  I fear EQ, but not sure how likely it is they would play that two rounds in a row.  Can someone advise?
