Deck Help / Re: Mono Element Turns to Win
« on: May 23, 2011, 01:42:24 am »
slightly off-topic, but I am placing my bets on :fire, :earth, and :light to be the fastest

edit: fail on me, forgot about :death
Haha sounds like we need a topic for bets on this.... my prediction would be:

1.   :fire
2.   :earth
3.   :life
4.   :death
5.   :light
6.   :air

Light / Re: Round 7: Opponent, Duel, and Deck Scouting
« on: May 22, 2011, 04:07:56 pm »
Wow.  Another poor event card for us and unfavorable match-up considering our current vault situation. Its not that the event card is bad for us per say, its just fairly worthless considering our vault situation.  The event card; however, is amazing for a team like UW.

At any rate, its looks to me like (given our current vault situation) we have options that are limited to a mediocre air duo, a great discord duo that will be ineffective, a half-assed poison deck, a half-assed vader sader, or a mono light.

It seems to me that it would still be favorable to run the discord deck vs. UW.

Now before you snicker, listen to my reasons:

1.  AM is still a very strong card if not expected.  People still like to use dragons against us and I don't see the genius strategists over at UW analyzing our vault and determining this is a poor strategy.

2.  The deck still has a fairly good rush without discord operating in its capacity.  We would still need to bring discord for the damage it offers and to get some damage from our saders.  We could consider dropping the saders and discords for 3 pillars + dragon + miracle.  I think we would have enough to make those changes?  The hope would be then, that we have enough healing to beat UW in this way.

3.  The deck gives us the best chance to win, moving forward.  Its the only solid deck we have left in our vault imho.  If we are planning to go on a 3 or 4 game winning streak, bringing another deck is not the choice.  It would be better to bring this one and adapt to the opponent.

*Note - we could even make use of the event card by bringing both saders & discords + having the option to change to the adjusted build mentioned above.  I could test these later this evening after going to church/library/gym today.

Looking forward to taking on the Ghost/Graboid and Dune/Momentum decks.  I already have my counters built and tested so bring it on! :)
Don't worry we've got a lot of other decks in our vault....

Wait.  What? My nose just grew.

How does this do against Half blood/H50?
You're gonna have a lot better options for HB/T50 because this deck is meant for farming score/electrum from AI3 via scoring a high percentage of EMs in a short amount of time.

I would suggest Lava Rush vNG (http://elementscommunity.org/forum/index.php/topic,6960) for a T50 farmer.  I'm not too familiar with HB options since I never do it.  It is typically considered less profitable than AI3/FG/T50 farming.

Is there a reason the mono Light deck's weapon is a Sword/Longsword instead of Bow/Longbow?
Yeah, longsword gives lower TTW's than longbow even though it is 1 less damage because the damage/quanta ratio is higher and it can come out earlier.

1st Game: WIN

Code: [Select]
55q 55q 55q 55q 55q 55q 5rg 5rg 5rg 5rg 5rg 5rg 5rg 5rg 5rg 5rg 5rg 5ro 5ro 5ro 5ro 5rt 5rt 5rt 5rt 5rt 5rt 5t2 5t2 7q0Slow quanta draw for TNG but early trident.  I got a couple early momentumed scorps.  I managed to eek out an eternity and rewind one creature which stalled me long enough for victory.

2nd Game: LOSS

Code: [Select]
55q 55q 55q 55q 55q 55q 5rg 5rg 5rg 5rg 5rg 5rg 5rg 5rg 5rg 5rg 5rg 5ro 5ro 5ro 5ro 5rt 5rt 5rt 5rt 5rt 5rt 5t2 5t2 7q0After seeing his early trident plan misfire, he intelligently switched decks.  Pretty good counter, although I only saw one momentum all match.  Came down to a coin toss which he won.  He had 1 HP left at the end.

3rd Game: WIN

Code: [Select]
55q 55q 55q 55q 55q 55q 5rg 5rg 5rg 5rg 5rg 5rg 5rg 5rg 5rg 5rg 5rg 5ro 5ro 5ro 5ro 5rt 5rt 5rt 5rt 5rt 5rt 5t2 5t2 7q0Another coin toss match, which I won this time.  I got two early scorps on the board but he bolted both immediately.  One played midmatch stuck around as he switched focus to winning.  He ended up missing an OTK by 10 HP.

4th Game: WIN

Code: [Select]
590 590 590 590 590 592 592 592 592 5rg 5rg 5rg 5rg 5rg 5rg 5rg 5rg 5rg 5rg 5rg 5ru 5ru 5ru 5ru 5ru 5t2 5t2 5t2 5t2 5t2I switched decks to protect from EQs, although it was probably a change which was not in my favor.  RNG was on my side as he only pulled one SS.  Anything more would have won him the match and I believe he would have won the 5th as well because he had started to balance his deck in his favor.

gg's TNG... like I said, I didn't think you had the cards to make it competitive but proved me wrong!  Extremely close and I look forward to one of our now weekly battles soon.
