Deck Help / Re: my scarab fractal deck, and maybe some other stuff
« on: January 16, 2011, 12:10:31 am »
it's ok.

my advice would be to reduce the deck to 30 cards. then get rid of the procrastinations, what you have is a creature control deck and the scarabs cover that part just fine (you could keep one but 3 is far too many). i'd change the mark to aether, replace the aether pendulums with gravity and time ones (say, 40% gravity and 60% time) and then you should be set.

a most innovative idea that could end up a great success. a couple of reverse times/precognitions or sundials would work wonders and don't forget that you can slowly replace fractals with Pharaohs (or gather them up and then release them into your deck). keep going, don't give up, and good luck :)

i find this article most fascinating. it's also incredibly funny! what people will mill make up just to produce an explanation to why their arm isn't quite working properly. wouldn't it be easier to admit the truth? lol

this is an epic part of biology that should be made common knowledge :D

Religion / Re: Is Religion a meme?

no, it doesn't undermine it. the religion may change, evolve, or anything else, but it does still retain the most part of the truth it set out with.

okey dokey, i think mainstream religion IS a meme because, like i said, ancient civilizations who did not understand things (eg. the ancient greeks) made up mythical tales to allow themselves to believe in them. from this stage it grew. take Judaism for example. from it grew a good percentage of today's popular religions. Islam came from the part where Abraham's maid gave birth to his child, Ishmael. Islam, now, has two opposing halves (i can't remember their names). then came Christianity from the same religion. that now has Anglican, Catholic, Reformed, and Protestant.

that's my view and evidence.

ok im going to try, without rejecting my beliefs, to say yes. yes it is. when ancient communities saw anomalies that were not justified by their small pool of knowledge they could only think of supernatural alternatives. the only reason i have a faith is because i find this universe far too orderly (in the places where it counts) to have come from nowhere.

thanks for making this thread.

Buff This Card! / Re: Nightmare | Nightmare
« on: January 15, 2011, 10:38:11 pm »
i 50% agree with rootranger. yes nightmare has only a very temporary effect but then it is mainly only used as a stalling card, not a brilliant, perpetual, game winning card. besides, low cost (both with quanta and electrum) low efficiency. to buff it now would knock it out of balance. to put it back in balance you would have to nerf it a bit as well by increasing the cost. after so much change it would no longer be nightmare any more but something entirely different. no, it would be better to leave it be and simply put an completely new card idea in the crucible.

If I have time, I will start a thread "Is Religion A Meme?"   I mean, I know that the answer is yes (if you really want me to I can explain), but am curious about your thoughts.
even though i don't seem that towards science i actually am. greatly. that idea does sound both brilliant and interesting. please do :)

Firstly, you can't just say shit like that without giving a source. "Them" and "they" are weasel words which essentially mean that you don't know anyone who has actually said that, but you'd like to believe that they've said that.
Stephen Dawkin one of the most famous evolutionists in britain? Peter Atkins  Professor of chemistry at Lincoln College, Oxford in England? Julius Axelrod American Nobel Prize winning biochemist? the list is endless. And they all are famous for trying to gather evidence against religion.
