Deck Help / Re: Parallel Phoenix
« on: April 10, 2010, 03:40:28 am »
why dont you remove 1 aether pillar and add 2 fractals, also if you can upgrade the phoenixes remove all the parallel universe and replace them by fractals ;D
This is not a fractal/phoenix spam deck.

I doesn't need as many aether pillars though. You could probably remove 2-4 and add that many PUs.

the only thing this needs is a wepon (vamp stiliento could replace a pillar) besieds that it can annihalate half bloods even un uped (u rly need all the pests out at the same time or eventualy they can start to get quanta and attrition kill ur devoureres (slowly spell kill them by getting thier quanta back) besides that its golden

howver you can get decked out because of the small size if this deck, try adding in 6 devoureres with thoes pests, if for no other reason than to get more cards.
No.

Vamp stiletto is still bad after its buff. You don't need a weapon.

You want 30 cards for consistency. Also, you can't add unupped versions of cards of which you already have 6 copies.

I prefer the variant with fire towers so that you can first-turn phoenix+cremate. You should also update pic, because it definitely needs those explodes.

I still think pest/fractal is better. I'm surprised you're not seeing more of that in PvP.

Except that it's not?

60 cards != stable rush.

30-card 1 + 30-card 2 = (usually) terribad 60-card.

Played it. Damn fun. Popping a 13/1 golem first turn is hilarious.

It is super weak to freeze, and bad draws are bad, but it's fun nonetheless.

Cool concept. However, adrenaline+duidic staff is usually better than +jade staff due to attack number breakpoints. The exception is against a 2+ shield.

Also, just to be pretty, -1 staff and animate. Or perhaps -1 shield, dunno the perfect ratio.

Yeah, prolly should be more like
14 water
6 fish
6 aether
4 fractal

That's a generic aether pillar/fractal ratio and includes more water quanta for the spamfest (which you'll really need if you're trying to spam puffers).

Gotta say I don't much like fractal+fish though.

and only 6 creatures to sacrifice, i guess the percentage of getting cremation and ball on starting hand with a lava destroyer isn't high enough for an early take down....
Now, I'm pretty terribad with probabilities, but I'm pretty sure the chance of drawing at least one ball lightning and one cremation in the first 7 cards is around 69% (68.889%). If you go second, you've got an even better chance - around 76% if I'm doing this math correctly. That's plenty good enough for the deck to be viable, especially in addition to the other combos that are available.

I haven't tried this yet, but it looks quite fun and speedy. Also, like you say, pillarless is badass. Mostly negates denial from earth/gravity and dark(/fractal).

And btw, the 6x5 setup is nifty.

Yeah, the 5 cost is gonna be pretty prohibitive when you're trying to rush. Fractal is best with cheap (quanta-producing) creatures.

Both Fire/Aether and Dark/Aether has the problem of jade shield.
Depends on the deck, really. Mine uses no siphons and has dragons to get over shields. Having at least 1 dragon is helpful to get a late-game fractal burst if you need it.

Of course, if it works correctly, they just never play anything, which is why I prefer dark.

I've done something similar, and it works quite well.
I had a few changes though: one less animate, (unupped) staff and adrenaline, and two less towers, replacing these with 5 unstoppables and my mark on gravity.
That way, shields are no longer an obstacle, and you do slightly more damage on top of that.
Thanks for the advice, really, but, I honestly like my deck more, But yes, I'll probably un-up the Staffs.
Your deck is still good, it's just that there's no reason not to use a gravity mark to power unstoppables, especially with unupped staffs. You go from 8 to 12 damage per and you ignore shields.

But, obviously, it's ultimately up to you. Play what's fun.
