8/10, very nice sound.  Could use a little more creativity in the guitar part (something besides block chords), but the simpler texture serves it well enough, and it's not an "oh baby baby I love you" dime a dozen song.

7/10.  Cool use of autotune, reminded me of some other stuff I like, and in fact in parts it sounds like it could have been in Cave Story.  It drifts a bit too far into metal for my taste, though.

He is the type of Brony I respect; not denying he liked the show but not yelling in your face if you say you don't.
Sums up my perspective on the show, and I totally agree.  Though I'm not about to go broadcasting my interest to people like my dad, who I'm 100% sure would just laugh in my face - and while I wouldn't mind being laughed at, I'm not gonna seek it out.

I actually took the official MLP site's personality quiz before I ever saw the show, and it labeled me as Rainbow Dash, and since loyalty is one of the things I value most, I can kinda see it... but I have more quirks in common with TS myself too.  I'm super-organized (though you might not guess it if you saw my desk), a bit of a fact hound, and I used to be a little paranoid about "bad marks" from teachers and professors.  I am definitely the bookish type, not athletic.

Derpy might get more <3 from me if she was more than just a gimmick.  She is loveably clumsy though, to Twilight's chagrin.  Fluttershy is second best pony, falling only slightly behind Rainbow Dash.

The irony of Mulan being a woman in a man's world escaped you, huh?  And I suppose Mulan should've just had a training montage without music - that would have been genius.  I'd be the first to admit that some of the lyrics in that particular song were a little awkward, but I still give the song 9/10 for content, arrangement, and its place in the film.

Anyway, back to reviews... Sad Violin gets 5/10, as it has far too much reverb and a forgettable melody.

Yeah, I really don't get how this is any different from extreme sports fans or anything else.  People will always be in-your-face about something, I just ignore those people if it starts to annoy me.  The haters are just looking for an anger outlet.

That anime looked really interesting, before I saw the mechs and space ships.
The style may be anime, but that's no TV show, it's Xenogears, a masterpiece RPG by SquareSoft.  The story has no equal among video games, as far as I'm concerned, surpassing every Final Fantasy.  katethegreat's rendition of "Bonds of Sea and Fire" is set to bits of the prerendered cutscenes - which are actually few and far between, the game's that long and involved.

While mechs (the game calls them "Gears") are involved in combat, it isn't Gundam - the Gears are part of the story, but not a driving force for the most part.  None of the story takes place in space, apart from the prologue video.

Oh, I forgot to review, didn't I?  8/10, I guess - interesting mix of classical and rock elements, not your typical anime mash-up.  Fun, but not my favorite thing in the world.

(actual song title: "Now Three")

10/10.  A little overuse of crash cymbal, but as that's one of Jeremy Soule's mannerisms I can't really take points off for it.  I am also a sucker for a good snare drum part (such as the one I linked earlier in Super Nova's "Bio").  It's an affectation that the composer calls it 13/8, though - it's simpler to read in alternating measures of 7/8 and 6/8.  Reminds me of "Gale" from Chrono Cross in its rhythm.

Makes me want to run off and try 17/8 meter on something, but again, you can't really call it something more than what it really is, so the piece would actually have to defy measurement by simpler groupings.

6/10 for the unconventional use of 4/4 time in the opening; I had to double check to make sure it wasn't an irregular meter.  Unfortunately, after that it devolved into mainstream rock with a few quirks.

8/10... At the Gala is not one of the better songs from the show, it has an extremely repetitive melody.  But it is an excellent remix.
