Unfortunately this deck failed miserably against level 5, even upgraded. I'd have to tweak it some to make it more playable, but my first reaction is more shields and more healing.
To be honest, I had taken apart the deck when I took the photo, it might not be balanced just right.  Again, it'll fail miserably when it fails, but when it succeeds, it kicks butt.

It failed even upgraded?  Weird.... works fine for me.
Well Gl1tch , I'm rooting for it to work :P it looks really fun to play!

Game Suggestions and Feedback / Re: Randomization issues
« on: February 09, 2010, 04:44:41 pm »
i just want to address your second point about deck shuffling. you ever played real trade card games like MTG? The point about a good shuffled deck is, that it _isnt_ shuffled by pure random. What you usually do, presuming you have a one to three ratio between mana giving and mana using cards, is taking one mana (aka quanta) card and then 3 other, again one mana and 3 other, stacking them in this order. Then you shuffle this deck in e specific way, but you still preserve some of the initial order in this deck and by this having a more equally distributed deck sequence.

This is one thing what can't be emulated by an algorithm easily. One thing what should help all of us is the so often desired muligan which lets you draw a new hand with one card less if you had no quanta (or maybe every time).
actually, this is very easy to emulate by an algorithm...

So just for the heck of it, I am going to run 100 games with a 12 QT / 3 SD version of the deck.  I am not expecting any difference that is outside of a normal margin of statistical error.

However, even without relevant stats yet, I am already not liking it as much.  I already lost to a Fire Queen rush, and that NEVER happened in the 4 SD version(s) I tested throughout 281 games (24 FQ games).  We'll see.  Maybe it was just freakish bad luck.  I'll carry out a 100 game test with the prediction that it will land between 56% - 59%.
heh.. good luck! i too don't think it would change stats too much :p

Edit: hm.. someone just dekarmaed me >:( what have i ever done :P

Do you have it on low quality? That speeds it up a ton. Other than that, you really can't do much about it. :D
true.. i always play on high quality!

Ok... considering that it lobotomizes  i DO NOT support it :P

this is like antimatter + heavy armour rolled into one but ridiculusly overpriced and used in conjunction (which you usually don't want)

you get a cardboard shield (upgrade!)
insert the cardboard shield (because it sucks)
You get a Diamond Shield
Insert a Lagrangian

PS: there are actually the right and wrong answers to this one!

It only takes me around 5 minutes usually, because I don't spend much time thinking about what I'm going to do. I usually think a few turns ahead, so I don't waste any time during my turn.
well.. i think the big point is  that if i didn't have to wait for 7 of the 10 minutes on the ai things would be faster :P

(yes.. i know.. my lappie isn't the fastest :( )

Gl1tch, I'm going to test this deck upgraded against level 5, because it looks hilariously fun. I've always wanted to do Oty/Vulture but it never really gelled.
this sounds fun, post your results!

In-game Troubleshooting / Re: Banned?
« on: February 08, 2010, 06:07:54 am »
Ok, just to check, are you testing something or did the game just banned me automatically...again?!

I was doing T50, won 2/3 cards, sold them and then in one game the disconnected button started flashing. Opened a new tab with the game, like i always did when i get disconnected, but this time when pressing the button it hanged on "Saving...". Reloaded the page, login, and there it was...banned again  ::)
you were just not meant to play this game ??? (j/k)

Will you add an option to the poll for people who can't beat FGs yet?
added  :D

@all:
So what do you think is the reason for all that slow-drawing vs hourglassed FGs?

Someone on the chat claimed, Elements was mainly heavy on the CPU.
As already said above, another one claimed to beat them in like 2min because his "connection was really good" ...

Personally, I cant really see why there should be performance issues at all with this game.
But maybe someone who really knows about that stuff can clear this up??

The AI is client side so connection doesn't matter. To check this, just start a game and disconnect from the internet, you'll still be able to finish the match, and even start new ones! :)

Yes, the game is VERY cpu intensive and to see that all you have to do is open Task Manager and  look at CPU usage :).... If you want to make sure it's the GAME that's taking the cpu simply go to "Processes" tab and look for the process which is your browser (such firefox.exe or chrome.exe)...

Card Ideas and Art / Re: New cards ideas: Elementals
« on: February 07, 2010, 08:54:20 pm »
Nice idea Kael to have abilites like Firestrike or Stomp etc whatever the various elementals would have.

Here is my idea for a card that fits the bill for use with a mono deck as much as possible:

Normal

Upgraded

Just as a start (sorry for using your pictures The Aegis but they are still your cards)

So any thoughts on them so far?

Scyther
love it! I think scyther has the right approach :P
