Duo-Decks / Re: Perpetual Light (standard RoL/Hope)
« on: October 22, 2010, 12:47:52 am »
One thing you should change on your deck, make half the towers into pendulums.  Seism becomes a lot easier after that.  Right now the RoL-Hope I use is this:

Code: [Select]
5lk 5lk 5lk 6rn 6rn 6rn 6rn 7jp 7jp 7jp 7jp 7jp 7jp 7jq 7jq 808 808 808 808 80e 80e 80i 80i 80i 80i 80i 81q 81q 81q 81q
I've never tried archangels to be honest, I'll upgrade two of them now and test it out.  I've always had the idea that 7 damage is simply too low, but I guess thats just being asinine.

Other than the lack of pendulums, great deck, and best of luck making it to the archives :)

After seeing the deck posted by uppercut, I agree that this is slightly OP.  There are two fixes to this, both are easily done:

1.  Make the 6 card limit apply (if it doesn't already apply, I wasn't quite sure if it does or doesn't)

2.  Increase the cost to 5 unupped, 4 upped.  This does weaken the card slightly, but it would still see a ton of use.  I, for example, would run a few gravity ones in my scarab charge.

Either of those will do the job.  Honestly, I would go with the first, seeing as this card SHOULD be affected by the 6 card limit seeing as is it not a pillar/tower/pendulum.

I might make this deck, seeing as gravity is one nymph I do have :P

I have the otyughs, the chargers, the black holes, and the titans, the only problem is I REALLY don't want to have to upgrade all those towers...

As far as the deck goes, you might be wise to do -2 dragons +2 elite armagio.  60 extra health never hurt anyone  :)

Underpowered?  Clearly some people are forgetting about fractaled phoenixes.  This card might make fractal phoenix decks able to consistently kill FGs in like 8-10 turns.  Think about it, with a fractal phoenix deck you can get out 15+ MPs pretty fast, bumping their damage from 4 to 6 would make them God-like.

I love the idea, it fits entropy PERFECTLY, however I have a major concern.  Its almost too random, think about it this way:  You are playing a fractal phoenix deck against this shield.  You attack with 10 minor phoenix's, you will have no idea what the hell just happened; which phoenix hit which shield.  I guess that could be intentional, but the major problem I see in most crucible cards is that they are too complicated.  This card seems VERY complicated not only to understand, but to code. I'm no programmer, but I'd put money down that this would be laggy.  The code would have to generate a new shield every single attack, meaning each of the 10 attacks requires a new shield generation, which requires processing power, which creates lag.

My proposition:  Make it a permanent card with the following effect:

Unupped:  "Each turn your shield is replaced with a random basic shield.  If you have no shield, a random basic shield will be given."  5 :entropy

Upped:  "Each turn your shield is replaced with a random advanced shield.  If you have no shield, a random basic shield will be given."  5 :entropy

Make sure you read the text VERY carefully, with the unupgraded you will always have an unupgraded shield, whereas with the upgraded you will first recieve an unupped shield, and if it is still in play at the end of the turn, it will be replaced by an upped shield.  This would be much easier to understand, and adequately entropic, while still being very potent if used correctly.  Also this would nearly eliminate the lag from the original idea.

I cant quite remember how often I had been playing when I won each of my four nymphs, but it is interesting what I've been reading here.  I am on a 1.5 month dry streak right now, and have spun every day, though realistically that means nothing.  Sadly we will never get any data on this because it is not possible for us to be sure that EVERYONE would report their data, skewing the results of any possible study.  Maybe Zanz will clear this up for us, I would hope so.  Until then, I'm going to keep spinning every day, hopin' and prayin' every time :)

Why unstoppable? It consumes part of your gravity quanta which is your CC source! If its to deal with annoying shields, I would replace it by explosions.
You only need to use one of the Unstoppables, even if you draw both.  Once your "main" scarab is momentmed, all the the new scarabs you TU from it will be momentumed.  That means EVERY scarab you put out from the point when you use unstoppable on has momentum, at the cost of one less use of devour.  Essentially you are trading 1 use of devour to turn shields off and have all scarabs +1|+1 higher.  In 90% of situations that is gonna be a very big improvement over facing shields, but with one more use of devour.

Those are some very interesting additions genraenera.
I had thought about adding momentum but didnt want to use gravity quanta. Using liquid shadow and momentum together though is a great idea- unstoppable healing. Nice one for getting an 8 turn EM verses possibly the hardest god Hermes.
I think Im going to add your deck to the first post and say that you made it.
Thanks, its working quite well, now I'm testing +1 rage potion -1 CP, but if you add it to the OP just put is down as is.  And yeah, the Liquid Shadow is a true lifesaver, especially combined with momentum.  Hermes probly woulda killed me on his 5th turn in that pic if not for it, and it allows you to ignore some smaller creatures as your healing will make their small damage irrelevant.

Well I have no proof, but on sunday, I was farming FGs and didn't win a SINGLE card in 11 wins straight.  33 individual spins, 0 cards.  I was ragin so hard by the time i got to the 10th and 11th wins...

Oh and I spun a relic (nymph) from dark matter last weekend too.  Now thats some BS if I've ever seen it.

General Discussion / Re: What are you FG farming with?

Usually I switch between a fairly standard RoL-Hope and the following CCYB variant:

Code: [Select]
6qq 6qq 6qq 6qq 6qq 6qq 6qq 6rn 6rn 6rn 6rn 6rq 6u3 6u3 6u3 6u3 6u3 6u3 6u7 6u7 71c 77f 77f 7ak 7dq 7dq 7gp 7gp 7ng 7q5 7q5 7q5 80h 80h 80h

However, I'm tweaking the following scarab charge to see if I can make a halfway decent farmer out of it:

Code: [Select]
6u2 6u2 6u2 6u2 6u3 6u3 6u3 6u3 6u3 6u3 6ve 6ve 6ve 6ve 6ve 74a 74a 7dr 7jv 7qa 7qa 7qa 7qa 7qa 7qa 7te 7te 80b 80b 80b 80b 80b
It does surprisingly well, and on top of that it is by far the most fun FG deck I have ever played.

Not underpowered? to be honest the real question i'm asking myself is if it is Overpowered...
Yeah, I was just making the point that its silly to call this a UP card, as some have previously done.  Weather or not it's OP is a different question.  I'd think its fairly balanced, but like any card it would need to actually be implemented in the trainer to say one way or the other.

Deck Compilations / Re: Scarab Lance

I'm testing this variant against FGs and its working wonders.

Code: [Select]
6u2 6u2 6u2 6u2 6u2 6u3 6u3 6u3 6u3 6u3 6u3 6ve 6ve 6ve 6ve 6ve 74a 74a 7jv 7qa 7qa 7qa 7qa 7qa 7qa 7te 7te 80b 80b 80b 80b 80b(Edited deck, replaced 1 CP with 1 Imp. Blessing, I'm considering adding another in place of a second CP, I'm also looking at a Rage Potion possibility)

Its amazing, the only major differences between it and the first in the OP are the unstoppables and liquid shadows.  Unstoppable is absolutely essential in a scarab charge IMO, all it takes is 1 of them and you can get 40+ damage momentumed if you have some TU left.  The liquid shadow is a fantastic addition to the deck, it has saved me from sure death more than once.  I'll give an in depth argument for each here:

Unstoppable:  1 gravity to bypass all shields for the one it is used on, and any more you TU from that point on.  Yeah, it does take away that oh so essential gravity quanta, but 1 lost devour is an acceptable loss for momentum and +1|+1.

Liquid Shadow:  3 Dark to turn your scarab into a vampire, however it looses its devour ability.  On first glance this seems like a terrible card to use on a scarab, however it isn't.  Once you have one scarab with 10+ health, it can devour everything until you run out of gravity, having more just speeds up this process by 1-2 turns (seeing as you WILL run out of gravity).  However, once you TU that first big scarab, you have the opprotunity to make the new one a vampire (and hopefully with momentum too), at which point you will have 1 scarab for devouring, and one for healing.  For each TU that you draw from this point on, you can choose if you want a new vampire, or a new devourer, whichever suits the situation the best.

Here's a funny pic from a lvl5  :P

Bad move using basilisk blood on my scarabs lol
EDIT:  Here's another picture showing the true versatility of this deck

I didnt draw a scarab in my first few turns, but he got a fire spirit up to 10|3, so I PUed it, buffed it, momentumed it, grew it twice, vampired it, and finally PUed it 2 more times.  8 turn EM versus Hermes?  Get down.
