Duo-Decks / Re: Perpetual Light (standard RoL/Hope, 1.29)
« on: October 13, 2011, 08:36:03 pm »
I like the concept of this deck...but the numbers for me just aren't there.  I can't even consistently battle AI4 with better than 20% win rate, haven't even attempted a FG.  I've been looking for something to replace my CCYB deck after the update that mostly nullified it's current incarnation.  While I like the idea here, even with tweaking it, I'm not finding it compares to the win rate w/ CCYB (even post update).

Still, a nice idea, I like the angels especially ;)

I am curious, how would one handle firewalls, plagues, carapace walls, and the likes that wipe out your light production and your shield?

Patch Notes and Development News / Re: Elements 1.21

Someone lock this thread please. The newest version of Elements is v1.22, so there should be no more discussion in threads for previous versions.
Have to disagree, until the game is updated this thread is still valid.  The trainer may be running the new version but that's not the release that we all play our decks in and gain our scores from.  (or used to...)

Congratulations on replacing fun-factor of the game w/ more frustration in v1.21.

I think I'm done, after reaching 106k+ score....it's now lost it's appeal.  Time to reset and leave.  It's been a fun 6 months, but the consistent increase in difficulty just doesn't make sense.  We were already losing to FG's regularly...why increase the cost of so many cards that even gave us a chance?

Sorry, rhetorical questions I don't want or expect an answer.

Goodbye

Finally getting to slightly >50% record against all FG's and we are nerfed.  What was the reasoning, exactly?  Are we suppose to be unable to defeat the FG's?  If that's the case, just say so and I'll stop trying...It was a challenge, even balanced at around 50%.  Now it's unbalanced again and leads to more frustrations.

Anyway, not really thrilled on the new 1.21.  But then I don't obsess about building decks and such and maybe play 2-3 games a day so it won't be difficult to cut it out of my routine.  At least until someone comes up w/ a new deck idea that, once again, has a small chance of being better than 50% vs FG's.

General Discussion / Re: Odds of drawing a card based on number in deck

http://stattrek.com/Tables/Hypergeometric.aspx

Pop. size = deck size, sample size = cards drawn, the others should be fairly easy to figure out.
Nice link, thanks.

So, if I'm interpreting this correctly.  I only have 3.5% chance of drawing 3 qt in my first 19 cards in a deck comprised of 41 cards and 13 qt, is that correct?

If so, I seem to fall into that "upper" 3.5% a lot!  :D

But seriously...am I correct in my interpretation?

In-game Troubleshooting / Re: Banned?

That's why I'm only a little surprised.  Sorry if it came off too judgmental.  Just saying from a readers perspective, if multiple people are claiming the same issue happening and it's all coming from the same vector (Kongregate?) that there may actually be something else involved that's totally beyond the end-users control and it really hurts to be falsely accused when you KNOW you are innocent and you also know you have no way of proving said innocence.

Course, you have more info than I, and if you (collective) have an absolute way of knowing the end-user is responsible for using some type of cheat/exploit...then I say let em fry! :D

Just wanted to say I haven't been banned, don't know what Kongregate is, but I did lose an entire day of FG grinding last week.  I can only assume the 'saving-confirming-confirmed' messages got broken, as I learned last November to follow those closely and NEVER move on until it's confirmed my save.

I'm a little shocked to see the behavior of the "staff" when presented with multiple data-points that seem to point to a possible real problem.

With one user having this "issue" I completely understand, but after 15 years of development and support, I can say when you are presented with multiple similar data-points, that's often the time to stop blaming the end-user and be sure all your ducks are in a row (believe me, I've been there and been the one to look like an ass after the real problem was found).  Just sayin :)

More stats w/ the "purified" Jangoo variant:

destiny         3   0 (em)
hermes         1   1 (em)(wow, dead in 4 turns)
divine glory   0   3 (almost....sigh)
miracle         2   0
rainbow         1   2 (20 effing cards w/o an hourglass/oty/phase shield)(em)
fire queen      2   0  (no qt in draw)
paradox         2   1 (em&3cards)(loss=never saw a QT in 5 turns)
scorpio         2   0
chaos lord      1   1 (crazy game, had to force him to deck-out)
incarnate      1   0 (em)
gemini         2   1 (no defense drawn)
obliterator      0   1 (pulverizer on turn one, never got to put down any quanta)
dark matter      0   1 (one QT for first 6 turns)
seism         2   0 (wow, thought he was impossible)
ferox         0   1 (*&%@, only saw one wall in 30 cards-very close)
incarnate      1   0

The correction did come, no longer at 80% ;)

However, I'm still pleased w/ the way things are going, sitting at 62.5%

Could've easily gone differently in a few very close games.

Had one of the greatest draws I've ever seen vs Seism in my 2nd win....he never had a chance.  Those are fun sometimes, though the hard fought challenges are fun too.  It's the 4-turn losses never getting to see a qt that's frustrating :D

After 15 games:

ivalmian jangoo variant:
destiny         3   0 (em)
hermes         1   1 (em)(wow, dead in 4 turns)
divine glory   0   1 (almost....sigh)
miracle         2   0
rainbow         1   1 (20 effing cards w/o an hourglass/oty/phase shield)(em)
fire queen      1   0  (no qt in draw)
paradox         1   0 (em&3cards)
scorpio         2   0
chaos lord      1   0 (crazy game, had to force him to deck-out)

80%
I'm afraid to keep playing...I'm due for a "market-correction" ;)

Clearly this is skewed, as I've been fortunate to be presented w/ FG's other than Seism/DG/Graviton.  I think there may also be some that I forgot to record.  Wins and losses though, so hopefully they're a wash.

I have added a single card though, which was critical to both wins vs. Scorpio.  That would be purify.  Figured it was more than worth it to have the one water quanta purify and increase the deck to 41 cards than to lose because of 20 poison before you can ever get your own deck goin.

Ha hahahaha :D

Chalk it all up to lady luck smiling on me for a few games, I'm sure it will go back to "normal" soon ;)

Haven't had much time to play lately:

Here's my first 6 games w/ the Jangoo variant...

ivalmian jangoo variant:
destiny         1   0 (em)
hermes         1   0 (em)
divine glory           0      1 (almost....sigh)
miracle         2   0
rainbow         0   1 (20 effing cards w/o an hourglass/oty/phase shield/sundial)
fire queen      1   0  (no qt in draw)

Very promising!  Both losses could be considered close.  Would've been my first win vs DG.  And I'm pretty sure my draw qualified as BAD vs Rainbow.

About the music, any chance there's a tab or sheet music floating around out there?  Would like to play it.
