Yes, you are right. So far it's been about me asking for feedback and when I get it (text colors suck, etc.), I reply with "Stfu noob, I know it's broken and I will change it later".

That's not how it should be of course. It's my fail because I haven't had time to write the "New Forum FAQ" yet, which will explain all the things that I know should be changed and will be changed when I have time.
Don't worry, I give it a day before somebody starts a thread saying the new forum sucks, and we should go back to the old one. I don't know if that makes me an optimist or a pessimist.

Everyone give feedback on the new -50% background.
Yeah, it's less distracting now, good stuff.

Ads are already in place and you should see them. If not, then there could be something wrong with the settings, although I did double-check the permissions yesterday.
PEBKAC - At some point I'd used Opera's content blocker to block google ads for all sites, it's fine now.

As for ads being the "whole point" and "top priority", they really aren't. Anyone who has done websites and used Google Adsense knows that it won't make you rich.
I know well, I think the general hope is it might buy him a beer every few months.

I purposely kind of exaggerated the awesomeness of increased ad revenue when I proposed this idea because I knew that this was the best way to get people aboard.
I figured you were being disingenuous, but thought it should be followed through anyway, if for no other reason than to maintain enthusiasm. It's moot now anyway.

I have big plans for this community and new forums are just the first step.
Such as?

As for text being difficult to read.. that's mainly because the forums are still under construction and things will change. I am well aware that the main navigation is impossible to read with pictures behind it but it was never my intention to leave it that way. It will be fixed. Just like some of that black text on dark background will, etc.
Yeah, just threw them out there, there's no such thing as bad feedback, just poorly researched feedback (such as complaining about the lack of ads... :) )

Unfortunately for the already bad "Deja Vu", Adrenaline won't copy. So if you use the Ability "deja vu" on a Deja Vu, that has Adrenaline on it, the copy only is a normal Deja Vu without any abilities.
:( They did yesterday, I had a pretty nice Deja/Blessing/Adrenaline going. The cost increased by one since then as well, obviously a lot of work still ongoing.

Card Ideas and Art / Card editions
« on: December 17, 2009, 11:46:11 am »
Not an idea for a new card, but rather a new design element to incorporate into the cards.

With the raft of new cards currently under development, it would be nice to bundle them into an edition by adding a little icon for all the cards in the new cycle. Who knows how long this game will continue to develop and grow, it might be nice to have a feel for the lineage.

Two more cards mentioned in the development notes, introducing "cancer cells". They look to be a 0/1 creature which generates another 0/1 each turn. I wonder if each of these new cells can then produce more, or is it limited as deja-vu is?

They are free to cast, so every element will have access. New fodder for druids, otyughs, bonds, should be fun!

Also, I wonder how many new cards are on the way, this thread may get a bit overloaded.

Oh man. This wiki has 148 registered users and countless anonymous and you're the first one who has a clue what a wiki template is. I'm soooo grateful :P
So that's what they are called...

I just copied and pasted from the source of another card page, took me a few attempts to cop to the card data section, and couldn't be bothered to put in an image, but as they say, every little helps.

Since the whole point of the exercise was to help Zanz make some money through advertising, I hope putting some in would be top priority.

I appreciate all the work put in by scaredgirl and chriskang, but I know how easy it is to get distracted by shiny new things :)

And speaking of shiny new things, my other first impressions of the new forums are:
a) The background is very ... loud. Perhaps copying the lovely background on the game site would be better, it would help keep consistency  between the game and these forums.

b) I love the top image with a card from each element, but the text overlaying it is very difficult to read.

FWIW I'm using Opera 10.10

Anyway, thanks for all the hard work.

The new cards are on the trainer (http://www.elementsthegame.com/trainer.html) to play with.

I've added a page to the wiki for Adrenaline (http://elementsthegame.wikia.com/wiki/Adrenaline)

Presumably Adrenaline will be a good counter to Bone Walls. I wonder is the ability just for that turn, or does it confer a permanent ability on the target creature. If the latter, the next question is, will it carry over with PU/deja vu. It might prove interesting with Scarab decks, if the quanta is right.
