Forum Archive / Re: A rather special farm deck.
« on: October 08, 2010, 02:57:26 pm »
About 2 months ago, I was playing with an unstable gas deck in PvP2. My opponent thought that the damsefly which I played in 1st round is actually a new card.

It was something like this:

- Wow, that's a new card?

- No, that's actually one from the first series, but noone uses them.

- So cool, it produces air quanta!

- Yes, I will need quanta a bit later.
.
.
.
- Those gases will kill your damseflies, isn't that a problem?

- Think not.

- OMG wait, they gonna kill me too...

I just can't belive that this topic is so "underrated" compared to other anti FG topics. Isn't neurotoxin created against the dumb AI, esp double drawers?

Anyway I messed around a bit with similar setup and took some sceenies: (though my setup is more like rainbow than duo-trio)

(http://imageplay.net/) (this one is a loss due to every second FG card was bond endgame)

This is my personal favourite:

(I'm sure that neurotoxin decks can be further improved)

the deck I used (if anyone cares) Ent.mark:
6rn 6rn 6rn 6rn 6rn 6rn 6u3 6u3 6u3 6u3 6u3 6u3 6u8 749 74a 77i 77i 7ak 7gp 7jv 7q0 7q0 7q0 7q0 7q0 7q0 7q0 7q0 7q0 7q0 7q5 7q5 7q5 7q5 7q5 7q8 7q8 7qd 7qd 7qd 80h

Patch Notes and Development News / Re: AI improvements

Osiris playing strange... i was using a ccyb with adds, i played a jade shield and his momentum scarabs started to eat each other and i was near to lose due to momentum... then i played a perma and scarabs stopped to eat and grow (easy win after that). It's just a bit strange Osiris stopped using a useful strategy when he saw permafrost... Probably i'd have lost that match...
I think that the AI is eating while it sense it's board is full. Then it stops eating because some it's creatures got frozen. The AI checks his field and sense the frozen slots as empty -> stops eating, and using pharaoh skill to generate more. Frozen slots should have the highest eating priority, therefore permafrost wouldn't be an autowin with 4-5 SoG's.

Rainbow Decks / Re: malignant mutants

quote: ps: do u really wait for aflatoxin and fractal on every single game? cause that would slow you down a lot

Most of the cases I have to, cause there's no other way to deploy damage. At least for Aflatoxin, cause there are some FG's w/o any shield and toxin only my field to kill them (ridiculous). Think I stopped using this deck when I had 45 min. long match against Elidnis.
That's why I'm using nowdays a 40card oldschool timebow, wich is much faster. But when I started to use this entropy deck there were no CCYB and variants (which are faster than timebow), and I got sick from oty+boneyard+druid combo. But who knows, maybe I will give it another chance with some pendulums, time mark (got 3 purple biatch)

Massive as in mass. What's also funny is how it regards its own Malignant Cells as a threat, but it won't waste damage spells on them. Only Antimatter. x)
Furhermore, the AI actually try to kill it's toxin infected living creatures if he can (exapmle:oty is eating inf.creature), speeding up the process a bit :))

deepdown, would you mind sharing your deck? I always have a hard time against rainbow and u seem to beat him easily. I dont have any nymph but Im sure I could take some nice ideas out of your deck to improve mine.
Or at least can u give me some tips? cause Im kinda stuck on how to raise my win rate.

ps: malignant cells will only be targeted by massive CC
Ok, I try to reconstruct that deck, but I used that about may-june:

Code: [Select]
5if 6qq 6qq 6qq 6qq 6qq 6qq 6qq 6qq 6qq 6qq 6qq 6qq 6qq 6rn 6rn 6u6 6u7 6u7 6u8 6ug 6ug 71c 77i 77i 7ak 7am 7gp 7q5 7q5 7q5 7q8 80h 80h 80h 80iYes, that deck is entropy rainbow without snovas and oty's ???

I did not posted the forum when I used that, because I did not found it better than the other anti FG decks, plus it uses nymphs which can cause frustration in several (unpatient) people.

Furthermore I think it's one of the slowest anti FG deck, and can be just outrused by Ferox (what a shame), BUT it is capable to beat every FG out there, including Divine(g@y)Glory.

Strategy is simple:
- quint your key creatures:1nymph, 1 druid is a must, then you have to choose to quint your mindflayer or BE'd  mindflyer (against growing creatures ->mindflayer, then some mutant will gain steal or destroy)
- since it has 2 PA's and main healing comes from AM, the deck can survive constant PC (obli, DC)
- once the AI has cells on his field, I use fractal on cells ??? (keep in hand a few against mass CC FG's)
- make an army from cells, rewind cells (avoid deckout), 13 towers will produce enough time quanta to rewind
- the bond is excellent to gain EM, you can play it last turn since it has to heal only the weapon damage

But other players already told you that you NEED qiunts. If you want to create a quintless FG deck so badly, I recommend to make a neurotoxin based rainbow stall.

EDIT: Beating Rainbow is VERY hard and luck based...

Oops, I misclicked with a slightly modified JMDT's Healbow (-rewind +pandemonium, -abbys crawl +ultiharid), and got Gemini...

There's a small chance (I don't know how much, but I think it's extremely low) to mutate 2 exactly same mutants.

The chance is 1/76 (creature) x 1/20 (skill) x 1/5 (attack) x 1/5 (HP) x [1/2 (activation cost)--not needed when triggered skill].
Chance for twins (assuming no editing :P) = 1/76000 = 0.0013157894736842%

getting 'twins' next to each other is just a matter of just keep mutating right next to a mutant in hopes of getting the exact same thing
nothing fancy about that
From testing mutations I can tell you that is not as easy as it seems, either, because Momentum sticks with the mutation and Immaterial makes it unchangeable.

Rainbow Decks / Re: self hurt

Nah, they do kill malignant cells for me, which results in a lot of wasted CC. I'm not sure why you're going hostile on me, but I have tried it, and I plenty of experience with rainbows. Not sure why you would assume otherwise, but you seem frustrated over something. I'm not actually defending the deck; I'm explaining why it might work for him. It's clearly not your cuppa, but that doesn't affect mine or his preferences or experiences. Do try to avoid the personal attacks; you have no basis for them and it's only rude and immature.
Really? From my experience the FG won't kill the cells on your side even if it's the only creature there is.
From my experience the FG (AI) will only use MASS CC on cells. But won't use single target CC on them. But it's been a while since I used own cell mutant deck, maybe the AI behavior changed since then. But I think I got some experience with own side cell playing.

Some cell beatdowns, of course with a totally different deck, real game (no trainer), "old style" tower art:
(http://imageplay.net/) (http://imageplay.net/) (http://imageplay.net/) (http://imageplay.net/) (http://imageplay.net/)
(I did not screenshot, when the cells were mass CC'd, but it happened -fire rain, plague- )

This happens when the AI decides to copy a mutant voodoo, and the permafrost is on... So cool...

I was lucky that I had 4 cards to draw and perma freeze the target only for 3 turns. Anyway I immediatly changed the shield to fog just to survive (avoid deckin out)

Btw, I managed to beat him down w/o using eternity, but I was lucky

Devourer with devour skill. Very effective, since it sucks the quanta to use its skill :))
