Card Ideas and Art / Re: Miasmal Dragon | Miasmal dragon

attempts at powerful dynamic trump cards arent anywhere near as interesting as balanced lower costing creatures with neat mechanics.  also, making it rare doesnt help make powerful cards more balanced, it makes them less balanced.
But if the card pool is all little tricks and no power cards, there'd be one faucet of variety lost.

Don't really like cards with hidden abilities. Maybe if the card text changed with the element, or if there were just one ability.

Fifty? That's demanding supernovas.

The unupped one is cheaper than unupped steal. WHY.

Get an elemental mastery against a player in PVP1.
Beat the CPU using no towers or pillars.
These can hardly be called quests.  Most vets (and probably most newbies also) could finish both of these faster than they could wash the dishes or take out the trash.

I can see how grinding half-bloods could be a bit boring, but i think the quest would be fun in that you would get to learn a bit more about halfbloods and what deck would work well to beat one with a given name.

Hopefully any daily quests will change from day to day, so we won't have the same one each day (my opinion maybe others would disagree).
The quests don't have to be the ones I suggested. If people find them too easy, they could be replaced with "beat an AI with 500HP without spells or abilities".

Instead of having to grind the halfbloods for the one you need, maybe the quest could direct you to the halfblood concerned. Less grind, and a nice half-blood fight. There still needs to be a fix for the deck generation though.

The upgrade cost could be adjusted to the bazaar price*10 to reflect the different values of different upgrades. It would still be cheaper than the current ripoffs, and upgrading scarabs would only take about 100 gold; exactly what they're worth.

FIXD'D

I'm going to change the image later, when I'm bothered. The 0: is the cost, signifying that it's a no-cost activation ability as per korubasd- stupidly complicated name's suggestion.

Timerclock? You're a curator now? What happened to that web coding you wanted to get into?

9001 electrum: lose 10 times in a row.
The newer players don't need that much money; it's such a big reward that it would promote losing on purpose, which is bad.
IT'S CALLED A JOKE.

It's over 9000, see?

I think that if upgrades were to be made more easily obtainable that the cost for them wouldn't be reduced, but that you could earn 1,500 electrum more quickly.
Also an excellent solution.

The upgrade cost is really high. I get time to kill a few guys, but not enough to upgrade a full deck.

Hmm yeah I understand you but anyway you can play pvp1 and I don't think it need that much CPU kills to make a good deck.

However as you told arena is a really nice place to farm while having fun and to meet a lot of various decks.
True, it doesn't. But I do want to have a choice in which mode I want to play in, although PVP1 IS still a fun little sandbox.

And the arena is nice, but the AI can be retarded and the oracle's five cards mean many people are running similar decks. Any challenge I meet is self-imposed.

"Here, bash your head against that rock over there and I'll give you a shiny new card"

Or we could make the quests enjoyable.
Ok, so what would make the quests enjoyable?
Get an elemental mastery against a player in PVP1.
Beat the CPU using no towers or pillars.

Things like that, which take clever deck building and skill, and not replaying a dreadful game mode repeatedly. If half-bloods were improved, beating a particular half-blood may actually become an enjoyable trip through half-blood town.

Or the unupped version could feature a smaller health drain, to compensate for the reduced draw.

<shamelessplug>And if you like cards where you can sacrifice stuff to gain stuff, take a look at http://elementscommunity.org/forum/index.php/topic,21632.msg295799#msg295799 (http://elementscommunity.org/forum/index.php/topic,21632.msg295799#msg295799)</shamelessplug>

I play elements for the PVP. I don't play it for grinding against the CPU. I play it for playing against other people. I do play in my free time, but I don't like playing against the CPU because it's predictable and will never do anything different. I could try half-bloods, but they suck most of the time. I play for the challenge of other players, and when upgrading costs so much, I can't play against the long- time players and hope to stand a chance. The arena makes for nice variety, but nothing beats a real person.

To be moar serious I just agree with parasite99.

I don't see why the uppgrades should be cheaper for anything. That is what I really like in this game : it is very hard and long to have all the upped cards in *6 and 12 pillars/pends (even if I'm close to that now :) ).
So yes new players can't afford fully upped deck and ?
I gonna tell you my story : I had been hacked and thought that I won't see my account again so I started from scratch. The first day I build a crappy fire rush to farm AI3 to complete all the quest. Second day I build a grabbix and grind t50 to get some rare and money. then THe third day I farmed various things (t50/Halfbloods) for money and every day I built the oracle deck and won 2 upped cards.
Then I sold all I have to make a RoL/hope mostly unupped. The 4th day it was fully upped and at the end of the week I was at 20k points and ~60 upped cards.

So as a conclusion : If you take some time to collect cards and do it the good way you can have it very quickly.
Okay the days I played I wasn't busy and was able to play 8/10h per days.

For my part farming is an interessant moment in the game and now the arena make this not boring at all.

I think there is two way to see the game :

1) you are a casual player you ran unupped decks you can make tournaments pvp1 t50 and you can kill FG qiute easy with the oracle prediction and slowly get some upped cards/deck.

2) you have more time for the game and you involve yourself a lot in the game : you'll have all the upped cards you need quickly, trust me. (obv if you farm AI1/2 it is boring and it takes time to win cards). For farmers my advice is : change deck frequently (for FG I alternated between different version of RoL/hope and CCYB). Atm farming gold/plat league is a good way to get lot of money too.

Finally I don't mind that anything should cheaper.. And if you want to try a deck and have no money the trainer is here for that..

I hope this post help to understand my view and seems constructive for our discussion ;).
It tells me that you are either unemployed or too young to get a job. 8-10 hours a day? Enjoy your youth while you still can.

How is a new user going to know what the grabbix deck is? Judging by the number of complaints that level 3 is too hard, not many. And I don't think you can play other people with the trainer, which I kind of want to do.

I did try changing decks to cut the monotony, but some of my ideas sucked and purchasing new cards is costly. Again, new players have trouble building good decks.

You are good at the game, and have sunk plenty of time into it. Can you say that for the working population though? If your parents wanted to play elements, and they had to grind as long as you, you wouldn't have a home to live in.

Coming back to your first point, some upgraded cards are vastly better than their vanilla counterparts. If a new player were to challenge a long-time player, the old guard would win hands down, no matter how fast the newbie picked up the game  or how good they were. The competitive league would be limited to the few players with the time to upgrade, and new strategies and ideas would emerge more slowly. The elite would be dictated not by how good you are, but by how much free time you have, and that detracts from the competitive aspect of the game. I'm ok with losing, so long as I know I had the same resources as my opponent and that my opponent was genuinely better than I was.
