your opponent was cheating.  That situation is obviously impossible if your opponent had been following the rules.  Cheaters try to disguise their actions by doing things that aren't too easy to detect like: drawing extra cards and getting free quantum, playing stuff for free.

the weapon becoming untargetable sometimes happens against the computer so thats probably just a bug.  Producing more fireflies than possible is probably an exploit.
