Eternity for example, just a minor 1 cost reduction, right? not a big deal at all...wrong
5 :time instead of 6 :time means you can cast it 1 turn earlier meaning 1 turn earlier to start using the ability
if you can dismiss 1 cost reduction as something insignificant, i guess i think too highly of you QT
That is only true if you are left with zero :time at the end of the turn in which you played eternity.
I do realise it's not going to happen, I'm just saying it sucks that I have 6 upped eternities and none unupped.
But I have found a way to get a deck elegible for the tourney, so there is no need for this debate to continiue.

My answer to every poll question is: Both or Neither

If I end up using them, they will be in the same deck.

Certain cards, like my example of eternity, one time quanta, almost all the time anyone will have at least one unspent quanta, upgrading towers gives a larger unfair advantage, and they only cost 3 electrum, I can say it's fair to buy unnuped pillars, but making someone farm for 3 eternities is a different thing. Having 1 extra time quanta can't be a game breaking thing.

Firstly I apologise for sounding so hostile, sometimes I don't realise it until after someone replies.

I did consider Aries but for 1186 Electrum to possibly never use the deck again was too much, Your second post implied that common weapons weren't allowed in place of rares, and I thank you for making a suitable change to make it less of a problem to join.

I know, but the fact that there are so many rare cards that need to be unupped (and not many people have the unupped rares they want by the sounds of it) just seems like this tournament is a big waste of time, money or both.

The closest deck I have to making is the scorpio one, but my eternities are upped, so either
  • I Grind T50 until I get 3 eternities in 5 days
  • You kindly allow me to use upped eternities because the difference between upped and unupped is so insignificant
  • Screw the whole thing and not participate (...Again)
But who knows? maybe everyone else has 6 of every rare unuped, maybe it just sucks to be me, and you want less people to be able to participate.

So with deckbuilding even if an upped card makes a cost difference of one quanta, the rule is strictly NO EXEPTIONS?
That sucks, not cool. :o

Yes a devourer, especially a burrowed one, definately counts as a pillar for all intensive purposes.
You need to come up with something better than that. :)

Reason why a Devourer will never produce as much quanta as a Pillar is because Devourer is more likely to be removed from the game. EQ is only real anti-Pillar card, but there are tons of anti-Devourer cards. If you have two decks, one with 18 Pillars and one with 12 Pillars and 6 Devourers, the first one will produce more quanta on average.

I'm not saying counting Devourers as Pillars give totally wrong results. I'm just saying that it's not a "perfect" solution.
They would produce the same ammount on average (except for the fact you have to pay to summon a devourer, but that has already been taken into account)
