War Archive / Re: War #2 Building an Army - Slave Market

Going to throw in my useless two cents here...
First, I like the "mercenary" term, but this doesn't feel like a "guild" type of event...

I ventured back here to find this first War that I knew nothing about had already begun, so I have not looked far into what has happened with it and whatnot...  But this all seems VERY involved.  I would love to participate but the amount of effort might be more than I or other newbs could keep up with.

I would personally like to see some sort of veto system.  As said, some people just despise elements... I for one, despise  :water but that means nothing, I'd still play it.  However, if I could veto anything, I'd veto  :fire for one reason... last check I only had 2 fire cards, plus I still haven't made the proper coin to buy even one upgraded card for ones I do have.  I would rather not be recruited by elements I lack as I treasure what little coin I have...

I may be missing some key thing here regarding card owning aspects but... just saying.  Also, when is #2 planned for? I may completely forget about Elements completely by the time #1 finishes.  If I can lose track of an entire event like this over a few weeks...

Hm... seeing how I still dont have the basis of what ele is capable of what... This following choice is completely random, with a hint of bias  ;)

WINNAR> :aether  :earth  :time  :entropy  :death  :life  :darkness  :light  :gravity  :fire  :water  :air

i like time and aether, while i think earth and entro have a great chance, so mixed it up a bit there.
rest is mostly random...

Card Ideas and Art / Re: We could use some new pillars...
« on: March 13, 2010, 06:05:20 am »
Going to throw in my two cents. I would like to see this...
(A)
Generates :time each turn.
:time Convert: Generates :entropy each turn instead.
When this ability is used, the card morphs into (B), similar to nymph's tears
(B)
Generates :entropy each turn.
:entropy Convert: Generates :time each turn instead.
And of course, (B) morphs into (A)

Yes this will create right many cards, but this can be simplified by maybe just modifying the text/abilities, if possible. Much like the nymphs now,  if pillar A, create nymph A.  Therefore, only 66 cards with modifiable text.  Costs can be something like... 2 or 1 random, 1/0 upped, or have upgrades cost nothing to Convert instead.  I am still a noob at Elements as a whole, so you all can probably think of better balancing for everything.  But this is what I would like.

This works more for duals, but a tri deck can definitely work something out.  These can probably even replace pillars entirely in decks, seeing how they are just a pillar that you can change to another pillar at any time for minimal cost.

Yep... on a side note I need more special lands in Magic...

Deck Help / Re: Any tips for me?

In my opinion, the best thing it do with that money is to invest it in making a rainbow. As you may or may not have known Scaredgirl has made a new deck especially for people with un upgraded cards. Even though it requires you to have 6 cards upgraded, I think it's your best bet on gaining money. Then you can make whatever deck you want once you're rich from farming the gods. This is the link to the deck:

Ok, I broke and tried making this deck...
I'm sorry but that was a COMPLETE WASTE OF 800+ COIN.  I have yet to win a match, I have yet to even do decent damage.  Decked myself plenty of times as well.  WHERE is the concept behind this?  Thanks for allowing myself to waste so much coin that could've gone toward a card upgrade...  I'm beyond pissed right now.
This is the very reason I stated my being against these almighty farming decks...

Seriously, thanks, I think I'm done with this game now.

I made a pretty good Time/Light/Dark deck that you can use if you'd like, not the same idea, but the same elements. XD

Two things.  The premise isn't near what I am trying to do, and those are all upgraded... yeah i can just downgrade them but seeing all those shiny cards makes me sad.  I'm ALMOST about to get my FIRST upgraded card...

Let's try to clean up that deck by removing unnecessary cards.

Get rid of: Spark, Golden Dragon, Procrastination, and the Darkness cards. You really don't need Darkness cards in that deck as they don't combo with your Scarab/Time focus.

If you really want a three color deck, try adding Air or Death cards to it. For Air, use Firefly Queen and Thunderstorm, or for Death, use Boneyard and Bone Wall. Those will help your Scarabs much more than random non-combo cards.
Well I did half of what you said, sparks and golden dragon are gone.  I would like to keep a shield, and darkness seems to work.  I do not wish to use air, though death seems like it could work well.
This is my current setup.

Still Time mark, ~190W/~160L, still very luck of the draw, and I love it that way.

Question though, once I hit enough coin, what should be the first upgrade? With my choices, it seems upping just one would be a complete waste... but with it taking THIS long to get so much...

Deck Help / Any tips for me?

I've been playing this for a short while now.  I knew coming in that there were going to be almighty decks that can beat anything and such.  I wanted to avoid that and play with what I get.  Ive been doing that, and boy is it rough, but its working.
Now, I wish to see if I can be guided slightly, just to see what will get thrown out.

Current W/L: 120ish/100ish
Element: Time
Deck:  Tri-ele, Time/Light/Dark, 60c

thanks to Jelly for the pic ^^;  agreed on picture > wallotext

Phew ok yeah that is probably a messy deck, but it works.  I play risky in every game I play, this included.  A few things bout this.  I wanted Miracles in, very lightly supported element due to it.  I use the heck out of the Hourglasses, hence why I use a full 60.  I try to use Scarabs to the limit, usually works but as i play risky, i may not ever get the right quantums in to do so, same with Anubis.  I wanted Steals in so again, lightly supported element, moreso than Light though.  Sparks fill in the gap and possibly provide scarab fodder.  This deck plays with what its drawn; speeddraw, miracle, or devouring.

I seem to do well against most opponents, luck permitting, but usually get wrecked by Time, Air, and poison decks no matter what.  T50/PVP/Gods wreck me due to no upgrades.  I havent bought many cards at all, main ones being scarabs and light pillars.  At times i cycle in photons and more sparks, and extra darkness cards of those listed.  This setup works best though.

Any tips for my deck or where i should go now?  I actually love how this deck works and would like to keep its spirit, but if any tweaks can be done, throw em out.  A number of coin and excess cards to sell so willing to try things.  And again, yes I know my deck is all over the place, but I love it.
