-1 explosion
+1 RE?
With fire buckler, SoG, and 40 cards (you don't need to save all your bolts), it's not too hard to CC scary decks to death to deck them out, while you only need an early fahrenheit and 2-3 bolts so it's rare you'd need that much CC.
This. ^

The Explosions are almost required to deal with troublesome permanents, such as an opposing Fire Stall's SoG's, a Pulvy, Sanctuary, etc. They can both save you and kill the enemy faster. There is enough CC in here already that an extra single target CC like RE would be rather useless.

I would also like to add another line of mine. Though I do not live my life by it, I embrace it with restraint: "To Each His Own." What I mean by "with restraint" is that I'll accept people for who they are and what they believe, as long as they do the same, or at least do not encroach on others' beliefs or person.

Philosophy / Words to live by.

As the title suggests, I would like to know what mantra you (the reader) live your life by. A simple sentence of words, in any language, that act as guidelines for your entire way of life. I would like to hear examples, too, and all ideas are open to discussion.

As for myself, my mantra is "Better Safe Than Sorry." I myself do not believe in a Heaven, Hell, God, Devil, Afterlife, reincarnation, or anything of the sort, and yet, I find myself living a somewhat virtuous in the event that I may be wrong. Likewise, I do not believe in Karma, but I help people in need, donate to charity, give when I am able, just in case. There are plenty of other examples, I'm sure, but these are just a few of the "Better Safe Than Sorry" things that I do.

As I implied before, I'm curious to know what other mantras people live their lives by. Perhaps there is another out there that will open my own eyes, as well as someone else's, to another way of life that was never considered. Or perhaps no one will respond because I'm one of a strict few that actually do this. Who knows?

Philosophy / Re: Faith.

I thank all of you for providing insight into the mysteries of "faith." Time to move on to yet another one of my philosphical questions.

Thank you both. As it turns out, my next question was brought up much sooner than I had expected.

What is Hope?

But back to the topic at hand. How does one show faith in something? How is faith measured? Do faith and loyalty share similar qualities, and if so, what are they? Is faith a human creation, or are other beings able to have faith in things as well?

Philosophy / Faith.

Now, before questioning the title of my topic, this is not a religious debate. I am not talking about a religious faith, but faith in general. Faith in humanity, faith in a lover, faith in a god, what have you. This question has been chewing on me non-stop for a while now, and I've finally decided to do something about it. The question is, simply:

What is Faith?

I know I can Google it, or look it up on Dictionary.com (who uses the book these days, anyways?), but I want a more detailed answer. I want an answer that can be discussed, one that can be expanded upon as new questions come forth. Faith is usually defined as an unconditional belief in something, but is it really unconditional? Is there such thing as true faith? What is a belief? More questions appear with every new answer, and I want to know all I can.

Any ideas?

Ohhh a twist I see?
Angels are something that should prove fun. No basic CC can one hit them.
Also the size seems good no bigger. With this it will take too long to deck you out, and one of the main points of this deck is that it can stall just like firestall and firestalls size gives it the added bonus of having a deckout option. I would think about Fireshields maybe?

Good thinking with the angels, I did not even think of that!
A Fire Shield would work, but if it were stolen, it would REALLY hurt the Phoenix's. This deck has enough damage that it can function without the Shield, simply because it should be able to outdamage most other decks. However, mirrored against another Fire Stall, the Angels play the part of requiring Lances to kill (or getting hit by the Fire Shield and then Rage Potioned).

Have you considered Cremations or Fire lances?
Cremations work much better in a rush deck, as you need :fire fast, but in a Fire Stall, you have the benefit of time to build up. Also, since this deck does not require Lances, building up large stores of :fire is now no longer needed. Also, the reason there are no Lances now, as was pointed out above, is because the creatures now fulfill the win condition.

Though, it would be nice to see a Morning Star or Fahrenheit in there.

EDIT: Added this deck to my list of unupped decks. And yes, I am still here. >.> I lurk, mostly, but still here. Hi everyone. :D

One of best mono decks, thumbs up.
I'm glad you like it. jmdt even told me once that "firestall > all" which needless to say made me proud, but also quite sad that the meta has started to revolve around it. =/ With the release of Sanctuary, unupped Fire Stalls are now viable, which makes them even more popular.

How does this fair against Fire Stall?

I've been using this deck against AI5 and it's extremely effective, most of your wins also come with EM which compensates for the longer matches.

Bonewall absolutely crushes this deck though as you only have one source of damage.
try saving 2-3 firebolts, if you're up against a bonewall
This is another reason to use Fire Bolts/Lances. Bonewalls are a pain, and they can indeed drag a game out much longer than it was intended to be, but they are beatable if you use your DD spells sparingly. If you suspect that the opponent will have Bonewalls, then save some Bolts/Lances ahead of time, just in case.

Ugh, finally! I've been trying to get on for days! >.<" I have this forum as my homepage, and it just now worked. =/ I used the alternate link that was posted on Kongregate, but when I tried to go back to it again, it said that the site was down, so I was unable to view anything else. I notice that it's a new domain name right now, but at least I can log on again. Thank you. :)
