Except Phoenix and Rewind.

These do not count as "discarded" since phoenix creates Ash when its destroyed so, the original Phoenix still gets destroyed and Rewind puts the card ontop of your deck.

how about an activated ability to go with the passive:

Stab Doll : deals 1 damage to the doll

I like that idea, not too strong to be overpowered or too expensive and it would provide a minimal damage per turn for the Voodoo Doll.

I got 1 Pulverizer, 1 Druidic Staff and 1 Fahreneit after 2 hours of AI3 farming.

I'm against introducing a discard pile on elements. I love how once one of your creatures / perms is gone from the field, it's gone forever, no exceptions.
