Quite a few people have wanted a decrease in cost because they think the ability is a negative one.But all those cards (Besides Scorp, but there are plenty of Buffs to use with them) have combos with several cards. This has a good combo with 1 other card. I think buffing it by +0|+3 would help, that way it survives better. You need to keep it on the field to Nightmare it, after all.
A card is underpowered if it cannot be worth using when it is being used at its fullest potential. Would shriekers be underpowered because the AI always burrows them? Are forest spirits underpowered because newbs use them in mono life? No, and no because those cards were not used to their fullest potential. The Ghost of the Past is a strong card when used at its fullest potential, a deck with nightmare.
So yes, this card is probably not worth using unless you have nightmare. However, many other cards are not useful unless paired with another card. Think scorpions + buff, photon + immolation, voodoo doll + ragepot/GP, etc.
He means you need a creature alive. Personally, I think this card makes some cards (Pharos, FFQs) useless or much less usefull.I'm not sure what you just said, but you can't compare this to PU in any way, shape or form. It's even closer to FFQ than it is to PU.so if the Spawner dies, then all it´s spawns die? or do you mean it needs the creature alive to place the effect? in the first case it really is nothing similar to TU or Fractal but the second case is obvious. thats only one condition to use the ability, the rest of its benefits are ready for the taking.
It requires a creature to -stay alive-, so it's not entirely comparable to Fractal either, since you can just dump that whenever you want. It's capable of making some decks more stable provided you don't expect CC, such as Devourer denial. In that case, you get the denial out faster.
But yes, it's a great card for Life and combos with any element. Just like Fractal.
elements is balanced with PvP at the focal point, the impact it has on AI, FGs for example, has little to no importance to balancing.Thank god the card is still in development. Okay, to summarize, we have two sides in this debate:IMHO, I feel that even just 1 combo that slays FG with EM 90% of the time or so (I tried the green staff-flying weapon thing a dozen times and failed to lose to a FG) makes the card OP. However, there are too many FG slaying combos with this (Flying Sword-Mitosis, Devourer Mitosis, etc.) to make it balanced, IMHO.
1 Side Believes that Mitosis is OP due to the combo with Animated Weapons
1 Side believes that Mitosis is balanced because there are appropriate counters to such a combo.
I see both sides: While I can understand the need to point out low cost cards like Short Sword and Druid's Staff, at the same time, there are cards/abilities like Hope, Eternity/Reverse Time, and Lobotomize (ironically Acceleration works pretty well here too) that can counter these cards. Yes, I know a PvP version will have People throwing Swords at me, shouldn't I try to pack CC of some sort since most decks need it, or are pretty fast anyway? Yes.
The fact that 2-3 people are still going strong on the balanced side means that there needs to be more discussion(and maybe testing) done. For now, I am neutral. Once thing for sure: this card will have a very strong effect on the metagame.

Mitosis is Op with dragons and SoRStill, summoning a dragon for 5 seems a bit strong.... Maybe make Mitosis unaffected by SOR?
But there's a simple solution change SoR to : The target creature's skill cost is reduced by 5.
