Half Bloods / The AI5 Farming Challenge
« on: January 09, 2010, 11:00:46 am »
After all, it will come down to how much you win from the AI...

This thread shall coordinate our efforts to find the best grinder for AI5. If you think you have the best farmer for this level, then give it a test:

The Test
- Play a session of 90 minutes against AI5. Use the same deck throughout.
- While you play, mark down the number of wins/losses and the number of coins gained (easiest way would be to note these statistics at the beginning and end of your session).
- Of course you can break this down into two (or more) shorter sessions as long as you keep up with the bookkeeping. I don't want to encourage unhealthy gaming with this thread.
- After you've finished, post your deck with the wins/losses/coins gained statistic. If your deck requires precise play, please add the critical information.

The Sections
- There are three different sections:
1) Decks with no Rares and Unupgraded cards only
2) Decks with no Rares and any number of Upgraded cards
3) Decks with any number of Rares and Upgraded cards
- Statistics for the three sections will be kept separately.

The Validation
- The decks with the best results will be editted into the second post for players to try out themselves.
- You can run a session with one of these decks yourself. In that case, please post a reply with your statistics after you've finished. These statistics will be added to the deck overview.

Please reply with your questions and deck suggestions

After all, it will come down to how much you win from the AI...

This thread shall coordinate our efforts to find the best grinder for level 3. If you think you have the best farmer for this level, then give it a test:

The Test
- Play a session of 90 minutes against AI3.

- Other Challenges will have separate sections for Unupgraded/Upgraded/Upgraded With Rares. For AI3, only the first of these sections is installed. This means: Please don't use decks with upgraded cards or rares.

The Validation
- The decks with the best results will be editted into the second post for players to try out themselves.
- You can run a session with one of these decks yourself. In that case, please post a reply with your statistics after you've finished. These statistics will be added to the deck overview.

Card Ideas and Art / Re: Win Card
« on: January 09, 2010, 10:22:11 am »
If we follow this thought: Why not make a set of mono cards with a ridiculously high price and a ridiculously strong effect that could come close to "Win the game". For example:

Fire: Deal 99 damage
Water: Freeze all your opponent's creatures and permanents
Air: Each of your pillars is a 3/3 creature,
Earth: Destroy all your opponent's permanents
Life: Create 12 Elite Cockatrices
Death: Each of your opponent's creatures turns into a malignant cell
Light: Each of your creatures turns into an Elite Angel
Darkness: Steal all your opponent's pillars/towers and turn their quanta into darkness quanta
Time: Your opponent cant play cards
AEther: Your opponent removes twenty cards of their library from the game
Gravity: Deal 1 damage to your opponent for each quantum in their pool
Entropy: Your opponent's creatures attack them instead of you

Gravity / Re: New Card: Amber Nymph
« on: January 09, 2010, 09:53:18 am »
My mind is not set on the value of the nymphs yet but this effect looks great. Fits the gravity theme and it is definitely useful. Maybe it will even make Gravity/Earth denial viable. Can we expect to see it as a spell on its own someday, too?

Fire / Re: New Card: Red Nymph

This would probably be the card that would convince me to play Firelance. Board Control plus the ability to turn your critters into suicide bombers definitely adds value.

Game Suggestions and Feedback / Re: Rain of fire

I think the more serious serious Balance issue will be keeping Aflatoxin from dominating the lategame if it can't be solved quickly enough. Being able to blast your own side would do no harm IMO.

Game Suggestions and Feedback / Re: Chance to win upgraded cards
« on: January 09, 2010, 09:33:01 am »
The problem seems to be that AI3 grinding will become dull sooner or later and that we have to do it in order to upgrade the cards we need. So the solution could also be to add one or two features to the AI3. Like running a gauntlet of ten matches that you will need to win entirely for your reward. Or a game with ante, where winning will improve your chances to win a card while loosing will result in having a card stolen from you.
