Rainbow Decks / Re: Attempt at the combining!
« on: September 11, 2010, 12:48:58 am »
Trust me, i ran Anubis in a very simmilar deck and he definatly needs the extra Quanta.Otherwise he will sit in your hand untill turn 15-20. Your playing 6 Hourglasses (thats even more than i did) and i guess you wanna play and use at least 2 of them . Playing them alone costs 8 quanta and when you got em you wanna use them i guess since you run Eternity.

On average you should have 2-5 Towers out early + your time Mark to support play + activate your Hourglasses. And getting that Time Quanta (even with Nova) is taking some time.

Just give it a shot, i can guarantee you these "extra" Towers are worth it.

May i suggest 2 Time Towers ?

Don´t see them as Quantum Tower replacement - they are specificly there to help you set up Hourglass / Anubis early or help you to actually use your Hourglass.
Especially Anubis can be a pain to bring out and is sitting in your hand forever without a couple added Time Towers. They also provide reliable Eternity Quanta.

I ran a very simmilar list about a week ago
-2 Hourglass
-1 Jade (mainly because i didn´t find it usefull at that time.it is definatly worth running)
-2 Tower
-1 Boneyard
-1 Fallen Druid

+1 Oty
+1 Permafrost
+2 Time Towers
+1 Antimatter
+1 Protect Artifact (mainly for Eternity)

and it worked out pretty well.

Imo the Boneyard/Druid thing takes way too long and especially without a FFQ to provide "food" that strategy almost always forces you to use Eternity.

Quinted Oty under Permafrost provides enough defense while the 2 copies each increase the chance of drawing them in time. 2 Antimatter and 5 Shards buy you more than enough time to draw the missing piece even without an Hourglass out.At least that was my observation.

Imo just add a 4th quint and a 3rd Golem instead of the Druid/Bonyard combo to be more focused (you´ll never have to wait for a quint or a Golem) and you will finish your games way earlier.  (my observation)

Yeah i added those Pulvies right after playing Ferox  ;D. Initially though i won´t need it (Shields don´t affect me at all and most weapons beside Arsenic/Fahrenheit can be ignored).

After building and testing a bit on the trainer i tried to build it on my account (was missing a lot of upgrades). Never needed more than 1 Afla or 3 Antimatter for other decks. And those are the exact cards you desperatly needed upgraded because of their casting cost.

Liquid Shadow isn´t that important since you usually play it after you get everything under control. But the increase Afla / Antimatter cost can and will cost you games. So i reccoment upgrading at least those.Basilisk Blood is pretty cheap on its own and you prolly don´t need to upgrade it.Jade Shield however is a must upgrade (blocks 2 damage instead of 1 -> blocking skelletons + dejavu´s and really makes a difference. Try upped Permafrost Shield if you don´t have the Jade Shields upped yet.)

Well its not tweaked into perfection yet, but you can already see its potential. I´m currently trying to increase the overall win%. Its a very simple combo but its still vulnurable to bad draws, hopefully i can fix this soon.

This might even work unupped. Obviously gonna be slower but it should work. Considering its not even tweaked yet this has got a lot potential.

I´m pretty sure this has been done before, but here is my attempt at this "strategy" (see below).
It is a fun deck to play and with a couple tweaks should be able to kill FGs at a decent rate.

It leads to something like this:

Eternal Phoenix

Morte (early version with SoG´s + Hourglass)

Octane is REALLY easy with this

Strategy:

Just in case you don´t get it here is how it works.
Antimatter on an opponents creature heals you and bypasses shields as you might now.If you Antimatter a Vampire the opponent is getting damaged instead of getting healed. So Liquid Shadow is making sure that there is always a "Vampire" in the opponents deck while Basilisk Blood is taking care of the Poison counter the creature gets (its also a really fast defensive card).Yes BB slows you down, but also guarantees that the creature will stay alive long enough to kill its master.(You could try a version with Archangels for a simmilar effect).
The 3 Pulvies take care of things like Arsenic and Bonds.

Aflatoxin + Jade Shield is a well known combo to lockdown the opponent from playing additional creatures and can also be used to get rid of existing creatures once he got flooded with cells.

Feel free to add Hourglasses, Adrenaline and Rage Potions.

Stop hitting yourself Morte !

Basilisk skin, Liquid Shadow,Adrenaline and Antimatter after Afla. Quite complex combo, but hillarious when it works out.

Your opponents creatures heal you while damaging the opponent.

Forgot to edit it out. Someone on chat already mentioned it. I ment twin universe but thanks :)

Some entries already became obsolete (refering to Carapace etc). There are major modifications to the deck almost dayly and likly i overlook some old entries.

Both games against Ferox where just ridiculous. A combination of a bad hand and a fast start from him. One Firefly Queen match was simmilar. Usually those Gods are the easier ones.Well the statistic should even it out sooner or later.
----

started keeping track of the games for a statistic.I know the current sample isn´t nearly enough for a good statistic but i have to start somewhere. It should be more accurate after a couple days, i´m gonna update this for the next few days till there is enough data.

Here are todays results.

Thanks.

Recheck my heavily edited post with the God-Rundown / latest version on page 4. The overall win% went up quite a bit. Those 2 Mindflayers helped a ton, yupp.

I really can´t reccoment that 35card version as it is since it "fizzles" out way too often. The 40 card version with both Mindflayers currently works out best for me.

The current overall win% should be around 40% now with the occasional "bad draw" and eventual tough god streaks, but the deck is capable of winning  5+ games winningstreaks.

The time spend playing a match is faster than the usual control rainbow while its winrate should be slightly lower. Overall i´m happy with the current result.
