Card Ideas and Art / Re: Sphinx | Greater Sphinx
« on: January 08, 2011, 03:21:03 am »
seems a bit UP, this would be greatly overshadowed by anubis, which has a permanent quintessence effect. I could be skewed however, and it is really OP, and oveshadows anubis. Either way, it needs some tweaking.
Any suggestions for the tweaking?

TEXT:
When Greater Sphinx is on the field, all time creatures on your field gain immortality. Sphinx cannot be immortal.
ART:
In need of art. Please help.
IDEA:
Retribution
NOTES:
"Sphinx cannot be immortal" means that two sphinxes on the field will not make each other immortal. Quintessence anubis and turquoise nymph are unable to target this card.

The upgraded version only affects your field.
SERIES:
N/A atm.
I looked on some websites for some sphinx art, but everything seemed too realistic.

If anyone could provide some fantasy-like cartoonish art and it fits the card, I'll gladly use it and grant you karma for helping moi. ;)

Duo-Decks / Re: Deja Golems

Cremation gets you 9 quanta, no?
9 x 2 = 18

Ruby dragon = 12  :fire

18 - 12 = 6/2 (minor phoenix cost) = 3 minor phoenixes + ruby dragon

What's the point of lava golems if there's barely any earth quanta to grow them? Wouldn't crimson/ruby dragons be a better choice?

General Discussion / Re: Poison decks
« on: January 06, 2011, 02:36:00 am »
I explain the rational behind the deck - I built it for the poison tourney a while back - it did pretty well in the tourney.

In the process of testing the deck I played a bunch of games against ai3 - they we're easy and went quickly. So I moved on and played a bunch against T50 again they went fast and had a solid win rate.

I'm running 3 Chyrsaora because I want one in my opening hand - but with death mark I can't really support running more than 1
I'm using the immolation because I found myself wanting a 7th nova - it is something I can use the additional Chyrsaora for - it also power the rage potion which can be hard to get enough quanta to play otherwise
The posted deck had one accidental card substitution - one chaos seed was supposed to be a mutation - which can be used for CC or on an additional Chyrsaora aswell.
The sundials buy you a little time for the poison to take effect aswell as speeding up the deck with card draw

Really this discussion has totally wandered off topic  it could go to deck help now
Looks good, thanks for the feedback.  :)

But, if I don't have 3 arsenics...?

Instant-kill is kind of bad.
I suggest the ability stays the same except for the part that, like otyugh, it can only absorb a creature with less HP than itself, or maybe to make it slightly stronger than that, also be able to absorb a creature with the SAME health.

Fyi, it's spelled fahrenheit.

Also, give us three choices. It's too hard to choose!

Game Suggestions and Feedback / Re: Mirror Shield vs Trebuchet

It just...doesn't seem very logical. And this is the place where trebuchet shines. To go through shields. It doesn't need a nerf, either.

It doesn't make much sense for "dig" to be able to burrow airborne creatures, and even if it did they would be able to fly back out again...
