False Gods / Re: Discussion on making a better Anti-FG deck
« on: April 26, 2010, 09:10:05 pm »
I will start off by analyzing the effectiveness of Air Nymphs, Death Nymphs, and Purple Nymphs.  Experimenting with these also gave insight into how well the associated cards work, those cards being antimatter, aflotoxin, and unstable gas.
Nymphs seem to be too expensive is what the general consensus is.  I mean late game sure, they're a renewable alchemy card, which is excellent.  But early game, I would much rather just have the alchemy card in hand rather than having to worry about protecting my source of the card.

Just build an anti-rainbow deck.  Problem solved.

I would like to see more aether usage rather than just having two creatures with one ability to use.  Unless of course, when tested, this deck is pushing it on spamming lobo?

So do you usually fractal brimstones or situationally fractal phoenixes as well?

what else besides animates and glories would make this deck even more powerful?

I mean glories are nice, but with a pegasus deck, like others have posted, has anyone tried a tri-element splash for rage potions?  Maybe gravity to make them unhittable?  Or even Aether for PU / Quintessence?

Seems pretty strong for a deck that splashes in two/three elements (heavy nuke/ minor cc, creature spam with wrym and FFQ).

I like it.  Maybe it's not as fast as shrieker, but you certainly have versatility to deal with all of the AI3 decks.  What's your win rate at ???

That's a good point Arondight.  Their expensive cost is almost an antithesis of rush ... oops!    :))

First of all, no need for the condescending attitude, my complaint is about seeing the same deck over and over again. I could care less about the FGs and their difficulty, I don't like seeing the same deck over and over again, and if the only way to beat it is by using a standardized deck, then there's a problem.
Ok, so are we still on the topic of t50 or did we move to FG killing?

Anyways, my feeling is that sometimes you need to conform to a standard deck in order to eventually get to the better part of elements, which would be upgraded pvp (once you have enough electrum to build said deck).  I would consider the Champion's League and weekly tournaments far and away the most challenging part of this game, and going against humans is always more fun than your standard AI (whether it be t50 or FG).  I understand your frustration with how difficult false gods can be, but if you have money to spend, you can just skip your 'impossible' match ups with false gods your non standard deck can compete against (if you don't want to conform).

Rainbow Decks / Re: Condor Flood aka Jallen's Rainbow
« on: April 23, 2010, 05:13:13 pm »
I just made this deck in the trainer and played about ten games against various FGs, including Paradox, Neptune, and Rainbow, and I didn't win a single game.

Here is the variation I was using:
Code: [Select]
52n 6qq 6qq 6qq 6qq 6qq 6qq 6qq 6qq 6qq 6qq 6qq 6qq 6qq 714 71b 71c 71c 74a 74b 74b 7ak 7do 7gp 7h1 7k2 7n5 80h 80h 80i
I upped all of the cards except the Boneyard. I honestly don't see how you could beat any FGs with this deck. It has only one healing spell, no draw excel, no alternate win condition, and is quite vulnerable the entire game. Perhaps a larger version of the deck, perhaps around 43 cards, would be more viable.
From what I can tell, it looks like it is really dependent that you can firestorm and fractal in the same turn.  Maybe add more firestorms (+1 +2) so that you don't play the waiting game to start your offense?

Also, miracle is definitely not a reliable source of healing for a deck like this, especially if there's only one in the deck

It has a 30-40 percent win rate overall. Mightyhat, you might just suck at using this deck. You will never be able to win if you just throw down every card like a monkey. You need some timing and strategy.
Mightyhat probably knows how to pilot this deck just fine...

I want to know how big your test sample was (#matches).  Anything less than 50 is inconclusive to an exact win%

Purity which deck are you running?  I mean you say you make original decks, but if they can't outrush a FG killer... then that's why you're losing
