Card Ideas and Art / Re: Freeze Permanent
« on: April 26, 2010, 07:32:16 pm »
Well, it'd be way UP, since Explosion can destroy a permanent, for 1 :fire. It doesn't get much cheaper than that really, and there shouldn't be free perm control. Just having one card as a lesser version of something else isn't a good idea.
Now you can destroy/remove permanents with  :earth + :gravity (pulvy),  :entropy:darkness and  :fire, but freezing bone wall for 3/4 turns is mean trick (disables whole pile of bones).

And that counter matter (phase/sundials).. hmm.. full stop sounds reasonable, so when freeze is gone phase shield/sundial is in same state when freezed.

Card Ideas and Art / Freeze Permanent
« on: April 26, 2010, 05:47:25 pm »
In my mind is low cost  :water-spell which freezes one permanent for 3 turn and upped one 4 turns (work only non-protected permanents). Freezed card act like it's gone for awhile, so with Freeze Permanent you can disable shields/weapons for 3 or 4 turns. This bring some alternative permanent control and fits in water-based deck.

Completely terrible idea or not?

EDIT: Just thinking: using it to pillars/towers is OP, so it can't be used pillars/towers (better this way)

Pics from easy fights, imo. How this deck work against Octane? For my taste your deck is too big.

Rainbow Decks / Re: Terro's Super Speed Rainbow!

I must test Terro's deck - it's evil :)

My idea for PvP rainbow:                 Maybe this isn't super fast but... kind funny still  :))

Code: [Select]
6qq 6qq 6qq 6qq 6qq 6tt 6u3 6u3 6u3 6u3 6u3 6u3 74a 74a 74b 77g 77g 7ah 7ah 7dq 7dq 7gv 7k1 7n0 7q5 7q5 7t9 7t9 80h 80h
There is only 4 real hitters (= good damage at start), but if everything goes well opponent can't do much. Sometimes you can quint otyugh very early - so it's goodbye to most rush decks. Maxwell/Ulitharid can also be usefull.

Rainbow Decks / Re: Anti-FG deck / Qohelet style

I made few modifications and this one seems even better than earlier variations. 10 quantum towers are just enough, I can even use eternity quite often. Usually later I "hit the break", stop rewinding FG's monster-cards to save enough time-quantum to avoid that deck out -loss. At this point I think deck is in good balance and have all needed anti-fg -aspects.

Added cards: Improved Plague and Improved Fog. Removed 2 quantum towers (from 'updated' version)

Code: [Select]
6qq 6qq 6qq 6qq 6qq 6qq 6qq 6qq 6qq 6qq 6rn 6rn 6rn 6rn 6u7 6u7 6u8 719 71c 74a 74b 77i 77i 77i 7ak 7am 7dq 7gp 7jp 7jp 7n0 7q5 7q5 7q5 7q8 7q8 80d 80h 80h 80h

What surprises me is the lack of improved plague. I love using that. And it will kill any card eventually. Saved my life quite a few times.
Thanks for that tip! I added improved plague to this deck (-1 quantum tower, maybe 11 is enough).

I really like the deck, I play it from time to time when I'm bored of Hope/Rol.

It sometimes starts too slow and takes some time to win, but I like that every card has its purpose. And the winning rate seems to be decent, too (though I haven't made statistics).
It's pretty good deck (and quite slow). Just thinking: Why Jade Shield is so underrated? Octane is like piece of cake if you have it - so there is one less "auto-quit" opponents and still there is permafrost, quintessences and other usefull stuff.  When waiting for permafrost jade shield can by some time - and don't need PA!

And one picture, just for laughs:

This deck LOVES big nasty Dragons!

Definitely Octane! And Yes - I have Jade Shield in my deck  ;D

Decay is another very fun FG  :D

Drop hourglasses AND time tower - oh well, maybe it's too big change and deck become something what it's not supposed to be. Maybe I test this one... just few words how I understand what 'compact deck' really is..

I played with 30 card deck <40 games, but win ratio was quite low. Still I managed beat FG's like Dream Catcher  :D Deck's main idea is use Alfatoxin your own side in every game, because it's only effective way to get enough healing.  When you can take down "every" shield with BE, even cells are "real killers". Before this deck I just get tired using typical FFQ/Fallen Druid/Boneyard/Fire Storm -mess (it's kind of complicated for my taste). Fallen Druid is latest add-on to this deck (my friends idea), cells low damage -> too long games.

My "micro rainbow":

Code: [Select]
6qq 6qq 6qq 6qq 6qq 6qq 6qq 6qq 6u3 6u3 6u3 6u3 6u6 6u8 71c 74b 74b 77i 77i 77i 7am 7am 7am 7gp 7jp 7q4 7q8 80h 80h 80h
I really don't know is it possible to make GOOD 30 card anti-fg deck, but I like this idea.

And two pics from two lucky games with this 'too small' deck:

Dream Catcher (I just get very lucky in this game; I think Dream Catcher is very tough nut to break).

Elidnis (here you see what I mean healing)

I think this deck can win game against Divine Glory, just protect 2 bond and use alfatoxin, it's +48HP every turn.. BUT you have to be lucky (fast).

First off, do you really need 3 PA? I feel 2 is enough...
Yep. I need 3 of them for several reasons. Sometimes you need PA early (ex. against seism). Vs. Octane I need only 1 PA, but I like to PA shield, eternity and depending current situation hourglass, shard or bond.

Quote
If you only keep 2 eternity mostly for deck out, why not use 1 eternity + 1 rewind? Cheaper cost overll that way
No, it's not only for deck out. Eternity is far more usefull when playing with Time -mark. (I have 30 card anti-fg deck where I play rewind + eternity, but it's with entropy mark. 30 card version don't use antimatter.. maybe I post it later - it's less effective)

Quote
The 2 photons, I understand you want 1 for alfatoxin / eternity
I play alfatoxin where it gives more help. Usually to FG's side, so I may need both photons - one for BE and one for avoid deck out.

Quote
But the other, it is something with only 1 hp, and casting butterfly on it seems a unsafe, as if the firewall is out before your butterfly photon, you are screwed (summoning sickness)
I try to adapt as much as possible :) Photon's good things: alfatoxin kills it instantly and is free to play.

Quote
Prehaps you can use it on an oty, but you loose the abliity of eating (e.g hermes)
That's true and Hermes can be 'ass' x) Maybe this deck is far from perfect, but worked reasonable well and sametime it's at least little different.

Quote
I would suggest running 1 photon (for eternity) and something else (e.g oty/pest) for butterfly
So I have to wait until THE butterfly-carrier-card comes out. I see your point. Earlier I played pest-butterfly combo (54 card deck) - so I know..

This deck was posted before the 1.32 game update and as a result may work very differently now.  Use at your own risk.

(Supernovas don't fit so well to this deck and one more SoG and 2 more quantum towers are overall better option)

Played few games with this one. Deck is mostly inspired by anti-critter-Jangoo-poison idea, but I made changes. At this point I can't tell how effective this one is, but against Octane/Decay this should work well. Octane is quite easy if you can play Jade shield early. Just antimatter two flying Eagle Eye's and use alfatoxin on FG's side.

Hints for newbies:

Use Unstoppable for Lava Destroyer (faster game if you can do that) or Otyugh (painfull long game) - and quint them. One photon for Butterfly Effect or... play Alfatoxin on your side for better healing and use BE'd cell - quint it. Other photon is just for recycling, rewind, back, rewind, back... until FG deck out or die. Protect Bond, Shield and Eternity. Against Octane you need only one protect artifact.

And some evidence:

Osiris:

Octane (as you can see, I used butterfly effect to otyugh, so fire wall don't hurt...):

Later Lava Destroyer beated crap out from poor Octane :/
