Game Suggestions and Feedback / Rotating Gods
« on: December 23, 2009, 12:56:19 am »
With the AI being improved so it isn't abuse-able anymore, and with new harder gods being put into circulation (Obliterator, for instance), I think that each week there should be different gods available.

Zanz would choose five to six false gods every week randomly (or maybe he could have themed weeks...) and we would have to live with playing only those five to six. If they were really hard ones, sucks for us. Then again they could be easy ones. If he did it randomly, I bet Zanz could even simply make a method to randomly choose five to six gods every week.

As it is, since there are *24* gods that are in circulation or will be in circulation, that's a LOT of decks you need to be able to counter. In fact, I would say it is darn near impossible to build a deck that can beat all 24 gods. Especially with the improved AI, and the new gods are actually pretty hard.

In addition, this would force you to make a new counter deck every week. Maybe one week you'll take out the firefly queen in your deck since it isn't needed, maybe another week you'll want to have three of them in your deck.

Basically, it would make farming gods easier (still probably not as easy as they used to be), and force you to adapt your deck. This means you wouldn't just be able to go on to the forum and find a deck and stick with it; you need to be smart enough to change it up yourself depending on the available gods.

No, I haven't tried with unupped dragons. The main reason I use upped though is that they look way cooler :).

And now, with the dials, its actually sorta viable for pvp. People always go "Wow. You REALLY took the time to upgrade those dragons?!?!?" Taking out the upped ones would kinda take out the wow factor.

Patch Notes and Development News / Re: AI improvements

A few things I've noticed with the new otyugh AI in the trainer...

-It just ate an angel infected with aflapoison. It was also infected. It should have let the angel live to heal them both.

-Before, an elite otyugh has eaten a fallen druid on its field to get even with my 6/6 werewolf. Obviously, that served no purpose; it got its health closer to my werewolf, but in the end, destroying its own fallen druid helped me to win. It never did get to eat my werewolf.

Simple (kinda) solution: Make oty only eat its own creatures if the creatures have 2 or less attack and defense and have no ability. You could expand this to say skeletons are always devourable targets, since an eclipsed elite skelly is 4/3.

Deck Help / Re: Noob Rainbow Deck Question
« on: December 22, 2009, 05:04:58 am »
Gods usually aren't pressed for quantum, and for the two gods that use growth creatures you're usually screwed anyway. And when you're not, mutate plus eat is just as good.

As to ablaze with Graviton, firestorm + eat is a much better move simply because it is permanent.

Eternity's main use is to keep yourself from decking, and with a large deck, you don't need to worry about that.

Granted, eternity is sometimes useful  with rewinding your own creatures that are g-forced and such, but with large rainbows you usually don't have to worry about that. Also, pulverizer is useful against every god, and owl's eye is useful against most gods too.

I suggest replacing Owl's Eye and something else with Eternity and Pulverizer, they REALLY help. Why lobo something, when you can just rewind it?
With rewind it will just be played again next turn and be just as annoying :P.

I would say go both pulvy and owl's eye, or just pulvy.

I still say that the 1/1 ruins the point.
Oh, and I don't know where to post this, so I'll put it here:
On the Trainer, my sheilds were giving the opponent its defense and I had non. Even against a mono-light deck. Just wanted to say.
Yeah. I ran into that bug too.
Deck I used was 3x Ivory Dragon, 5x Flesh Recluse, 6x Aflatoxin, 4x Skull Buckler, 12x Bone tower. Mark of death.

Worked wonders against AI3.

Game Suggestions and Feedback / Re: Combo-cards
« on: December 21, 2009, 11:03:51 pm »
Bob, you wouldn't program in every possible permutation (with Pilchard's idea). You might have to rework the whole card system, though.

For instance, you would take the card a (let's say Photon) and card b (let's say Skeleton). Now what the game would do is
a) Randomly choose between Photon and Skeleton for the picture. Let's say the game chooses Photon.
b) Randomly choose a number between each  card's attack for the new one's. So in our example, it would be 1.
c) Randomly choose a number between each card's defense for the new one's. In our example, it would also be 1.
d) Check if either creature has an ability. If one does, use it. If both do, randomly choose one. (Our example would be neither).
e) Create the new card with those stats.
f) Save the "new" card into your database.

I'm not sure how f works, but yeah. That would basically be the method. It *might* require to rework the card system so there is a "Card" class with its own variables, but that's basic object orienting stuff and I think it might already be like that.

But you definitely wouldn't need to program every single permutation. You would just have the game create it. At least, that's what I would do (but I'm only an amateur programmer, so :|).

I still don't like the idea. Just saying it wouldn't be hard to program if it's already programmed like I assume it is.

Entropy / Re: Antimatter / Improved Antimatter

Probably something to do with adrenaline not recognizing a negative attack so it attacks an infinite number of times.

But is it fixed yet?  *Checks*

This deck is too slow,a upgraded fire deck pwned me,i sended out a Ruby Dragon and my enemy just fire bolted it lmao.
Against Fire you stall with sundials until you can empty your hand of dragons. At least, that's what I do.

Playing a Ruby Dragon by itself is just stupid, especially against a fire deck :P.

And if you weren't playing it with dials, try it out (see above posts. I took out the Light Dragon and added 6 dials.)

Anyway, it's more for fun than effectiveness.

It would also be OP (Phase Dragon with Miracle. I don't care how hard it is to get. It would still be OP). I don't know about anyone else, but for veterans, getting 20 miracles isn't really that hard. I know I've sold at least 30.

What about Phase Dragon with stasis? Or Ruby Dragon with vampire? There's a reason that liquid shadow is set to poison for giving you the vampire ability.

Ruby Dragon combined with Vampire: 15/2 Attack with Vampire, 12 Fire Quantum (possibly).
Ruby Dragon with Liquid Shadow put on it: 15/2 Attack with Vampire and 1 Poison Counter, 12 Fire Quantum + 6 Dark Quantum.

So basically, there's too many OP combos. While a Ruby Dragon CAN have vampire (with the new cards), it also costs 6 more dark and it will only survive for two turns.

Immortal Ruby Dragons? Massive Dragon with Immortalize? Basalt Dragon with Destroy?

In my opinion, letting people make their own cards, even with set parameters, is a bad idea.

Earth / Re: New Card: Stone Skin
« on: December 21, 2009, 04:22:24 am »
So the question noi one has answered yet is how many coins do you win with max hp from stoneskin and mastery.
With shard it goes up.
Winning with EM and 120 hp will get you 130 coins, as opposed to the 120, and i think its 140 for 140 hp. if we count the HP in 20s, then you come up with:
520/20=26x10=260+120=380

So not too hideous, and good luck getting EM with 520 hp.

Correct me if I'm wrong.
You're taking into account the 120 coins for the first 100 health, and then you're taking into the account the first 100 health for the additional health too.

420/20 = 21*10 = 210 coins extra.
210+120 = 330. I'm pretty sure you would get 330.

Ruby Dragon+Adrenaline=Your oppenent suffers from the flames.
Ruby Dragon + Adrenaline would still only do 15 damage.
