Rainbow Decks / Re: (1.24) CC? Why bother?
« on: November 19, 2010, 03:53:23 am »
I've used it as a pure lobo type card in several matches, namely vs early physalia against scorpio or dream catchers first butterfly effect creature. It works well with anti matter against hermes and elidnis (if he doesnt quint his spectre before it gets big enough to use it). I generally dont use it much with elidnis though since I can generally win anyways and I'd rather save it for the em. Less commonly, it can be used if you're lucky and get it and aflatoxin against eternal phoenix early in order to be able to aflatoxin a phoenix (it wont turn into a cell unless its also lobo'd). Oh one other use I just thought of, is if you are playing chaos lord/destiny and they have 1 annoying fallen druid and you really need to aM a big creature, you can use it to stop them from mutating after you AM.

Modifty: Just to add, to use it purely as non-em without the chimera, it can be used on really any high att creature after you am for the damage/heal. Great targets that come to mind are light/stone dragons from their respective FGs, massive dragons from gemini, and any other dragons/creatures can be used but you need to be careful with it bc it will kill them eventually, removing the healing.

Yeah that is annoying when that happens vs eternal phoenix :P. Really the only way I find to use it on him is if I either have both aflatoxin and liquid shadow early, or if he gets 2+ dragons early and I only have 1 AM (I try not to use it on first dragon almost no matter what bc getting AM on it is crucial to survivig).

Interesting stats. Most are right around where I'd expect. I am a bit surprised you had so much trouble with Graviton though. I'd probably rank him right around obliterator in difficulty. Most of the time, it just comes down to whether he draws oty's early or not for me. If he does, he waste's his momentum's on them and I am able to control his firemasters with my permafrost shield. If he gets too many firemasters momentum'd though, he's very hard. He seems to always prioritize oty's over firemasters for momentum though so I always hope for him to draw as many as possible. Also he only has 4 explosions so its generally possible to keep a permafrost up.

Edit: Just noticed the deck you're using doesnt have liquid shadow. I'm sure he's still possible, but it is definitely very useful to be able to AM a 13+ damage momentum's firemaster with ls on it, to have 13 healing and damage to him per turn for 7 turns :P.

It would still work in a tourney... the games might be boring but it will still work the same way as far as rock>scissors>paper so the tourney comes down to picking the right one (and/or luck of the dice if you use same).

Angel is one.
angels wont turn into cells upon dying? never knew that
*goes to test*

edit: angel can heal all day long but the case here is which creature will not turn into a cell upon dying. angel died -> cell
That wasn't the case. All he said is that minor phoenix is the only card that can "beat" aflatoxin, which it can by healing. Also, immortal creatures (phase dragon, immortal) can prevent themselves from getting it in the first place.

Good games. First game, I had a weird draw with no wings or nova the entire game, but I drew enough mummies and my bone walls were able to keep his creatures at bay long enough to win. 2nd game I had a great rush draw with 4 pillars and a pendulum in first 2 turns, and 4 mummies out a few turns in. I also had a wings, and eventually drew 2 novas to rewind his momentum'd golem. I still was a bit worried when wings ran out and he had a lot of damage, but then I drew a bone wall to finish it.

1.25 was zanz doing a few little things, like give background halos to upped permanents, so CCYB 1.24 is essentially the same as 1.25.
Actually 1.25 was the big one with mindgate/scorpions/chimera/etc, but yeah what the last person said as far as changes. The patch you're talking about with the halo's was 1.252. The only 1.25 changes for this deck are potentially mindgate instead of fractal and chimera + ls instead of whichever other cards you want for em purposes.

Lol poor dream catcher :P.
Edited to add:
Osiris without scarabs? wtf? :P
(http://imageplay.net/)
5 quantum towers and fractal in the starting hand ftw! Especially with osiris not actually playing any scarabs for about 5 turns so I had more than enough time to generate quanta for 6 scarabs from fractal so that they could eat any of his :P. The AM'd one is for em btw, though I messed it up bc I didnt think about it being last so the others ended up killing him before my weapon hit, but oh well :P.

Edit 2:
Incarnate reduced to 1 AM'd vampire and a field full of cells :P .

Lol guessing he meant that it takes 1/10th of his whole monitor, not just the height :P. Though the way it was phrased it could be interpreted that way heh.
